I don't know how many, many times I've driven past Ku Fu Noodles before finally stopping in for dinner, but wow, did I waste a lot of time by not going here sooner! We got an array of standard fare as well as some things that I don't normally see on menus of other Chinese restaurants around town. The dumplings were good, though I was underwhelmed by the lack of spice on the Spicy Pork wonton dumplings. The flavor was very good, but it was not spicy at all. For entrees, we got Curry Chicken and Cumin Lamb. I'd never had Cumin Lamb before, and it rocketed to the top of my favorites list! It was gorgeously flavorful, fragrant, and spicy, warming as I ate. The spiced oil soaked into the rice, spreading the flavor to every last grain. It's really lovely and I highly recommend it. The restaurant is bigger than it appears from the outside, with a bright, cheerful ambience. Despite being busy, it never felt too loud, which was nice. Came in on a Friday afternoon for takeout! We ordered spicy potato salad, hot & spicy pot combination, dry string beans with pork, dandan noodles, and sesame balls. Everything was delicious! We came here for lunar new year a whim, having driven by it 1 million times. Tucson has zoning which entices delicious restaurants to be in little strip malls. In the spirit of the season we got lots of dumplings all of which were tasty, but I'll be honest- when it comes to labeling the photos I don't know which is which. Decided to try this restaurant while looking for a different noodle shop. This was a solid choice for Chinese food. What I hadn't had before and really enjoyed was the wok-fried lamb. I hadn't seen this at other restaurants near me and really enjoyed mixing the lamb with some of the rice and noodles to give it a bit of a different kick. I look forward to coming back here again. We arrived slightly after lunch, and so it was fairly empty, and our food came out pretty fast. We went to Kung Fu Noodle on ft lowell/campbell on Sunday 5 pm the food was good we ordered House lo mein everything was fresh and tasty Mongolian beef. It was good chicken egg rolls. They were yummy chicken chop Suey. The veggies were really good and sesame chicken which I liked the best. We will definitely be going back four of us. Eight we all shared steamed rice. Alright, so it's been almost 10 years since I last reviewed Kung Fu. That makes me feel old. I didn't love the noodle dish I got a decade ago so had never ventured back. On the recommendation of a friend, we did decide to try Kung Fu for take out and were pleasantly surprised. I appreciate all the veggie options on the menu. And they offer combinations I usually don't see at Chinese places... like eggplant and green beans, eggplant and tofu. We ordered the eggplant tofu and the veggie ho fan (flat rice noodles). Both were delicious. Quantity was decent, so the two entrees lasted a couple of meals for the two of us. We will definitely order take out from Kung Fu again! read more

Our second day in Tucson, we didn't expect authenticity in this little town. We were surprised when the food came. Looks good tasted great! Very decent Chinese food! Service was attentive as well! Came back here yesterday for lunch with a friend around 2:30pm and was disappointed both in the food and the service. The service due to an incident when we first came in and chose a spot to sit in an uncrowded location of the restaurant (all tables were taken but 3, and we chose one out of the way that didn't have us elbows to elbows with another table). It's a seat yourself type of restaurant so I would not think there would be an issue. However, when we were approached with menus, we were asked if there was just two of us dining (which there clearly was). When we responded, " yes", the server, then proceeded to slow slowly look around the restaurant and drag out a, "oooookayyyy?" I felt this was rude, passive aggressive, and unnecessary, as it is the restaurant's design that includes large-scale tables everywhere. Anyway, service was better after that. I ordered the curry chicken and my friend ordered the sizzling eggplant tofu dish. The curry chicken was actually the worst I've ever had. Curry tends to be an go-to option for me as I've never had one i didn't like, but this is the first time I've had one I disliked. And it's not so much that I disliked the curry, it's the fact that there was no detection of curry flavor. The chicken was actually pretty bland. It is a pretty big portion, though. The sizzling eggplant dish was in fact sizzling and impressive. The flavors were much more distinct in this dish and it also had a hearty portion. As an ex-New Yorker who lived near China Town, I love Chinese food! But who doesn't? The problem is, forgive me, most Chinese food is expected to be cheap and if it's too cheap it can be dreadful. To cook something right, hey... a guys got to make a living, and now with Trump's ingenious tariffs, you or I, fellow workers, artists, musicians, etc., are the ones who'll pay the bill and suffer most for his hubris. The good ole days are just gone I'm afraid. On to the review: In 28 years around Tucson, Kung Fu Noodle (could use a better name), is the best I've had. It's not cheap (see above), but manageable for struggling artists, environmentalists, and any gourmand, regardless of their politics--a wonderful treat. Please know, I love my country and love what it stood for, but... I'm NOT saying Trumpers should not go, but do be cool and leave your pistols in the car! In summary: Everything's good and guarantees a second meal at home depending on how hungry you are. We recommend the tofu and eggplant dishes, but the meat dishes are divine and plentiful. My son recommended this place--from a recommendation that he got from friends... who themselves, had Kung Fu Noodle strongly recommended to them... and on and on so it went. Apparently, we were just part of an extended chain of people who have really enjoyed the food here. The chain has not been broken, as we have recommended the establishment to others; who have reported back that they too loved the place. This evidence seems to indicated that Kung Fu Noodle has really good word of mouth energy. Additionally, An almost full dinning room, and the steady flow of patrons who came through for pick ups offered more evidence to this claim. We have now dined here for a total of 3 times, and with every visit, we chose to be, "gastronomically adventurous". Meaning we intentionally did not choose standard options that us 'Mericans typically pick when, "eating Chinese." Selections were made from the menu that probably historically, (for us) would have been deemed a bit too exotic, and therefore, skipped over. *We also got a little help from the waitstaff by asking for suggestions. Admittedly, this asking for suggestions strategy, can put a server in a tough position, as they have no idea of what a new customer might like. Nor do they have any inklings about our dietary restrictions (luckily we have none and can stomach anything!). Well, except for chicken feet. I know, I know...its a delicacy in China, but trying them once, years ago, was good enough for this lifetime.) So as I said, we have been here 3 times, and with each visit we tried something unique, attempting to boldly go where none of our tastebuds had ever gone before. Our first exotic choice was the Sweet and Sour Chicken with white rice. (I'm Kidding!) I won't name all of the dishes that we enjoyed, but know that everything that we rolled the dice with would fall into the category of , "very-very good." This is kind rare ... as typically, if you are lucky, one or two items chosen at any restaurant will stand out. With all sincerity, every dish that we have tried here so far has been eye-brow rousingly good. They are batting 1000. One the dishes that, as my dining partners ordered, I had silently predicted was going to have to be politely forced down (like those chicken legs of yesteryear) was the Sizzling Eggplant Tofu. I'm not much of a Tofu or Eggplant lover, but to my surprise the concoction was flavorfully amazing and had a really good mouth texture to boot. Truth be told, when it first arrived, I took a cautionary portion. You know, just enough to appear polite. As soon as I clumsily raised the chopsticks to my mouth, laden with a portion of both tofu and eggplant, it transcended me to a culinary Tian (Chinese for Heaven). At this point in the meal, I noticed that my fellow diners were dolling out large portions of this aromatic dish onto their plates. Thinking quickly, I sprung from my chair by performing a back flip into a classic martial arts defensive stance (think: Bruce Lee in his yellow jump suit). I pulled the green sword of destiny from its scabbard and the battle that ensued involved elegant aerial leaps and dodges. Tea cups, water glasses, and utensils scattered as we parkour-ed from table top to table top trying to gain possession of the Tofu and Eggplant dish. That never happened. Luckily the portions served here are generous, and there was enough for me to indulge in a little more. Dishes that were also amazing included: the grilled Cauliflower and PorK and the Garlic Green Vegetables. We also ordered a noodle dish ( I can't recall which one, but it was super satisfying.) On a lunch date with my wife, she ordered a beef noodle soup (it was served in a very large bowl) and it hit the spot as we were there on one of Tucson's first semi-chilly days. On that chill day, I picked the Vegetable Lo Mein. I was willing to share it with my wife, as she had shared her soup, but we both kept a hand on our sword--just in case the other went for more than their fair share. (not really, but that visual amused me). I will finish by quickly sharing that our server was wonderful. As fate would have it, we happened to have the same person on each visit. She was delightful. I would describe her as knowledgable, caring, willing to risk making suggestions for us to try, and I appreciated that she checked on us often. We felt very appreciated and welcomed. I will also share that the ambiance is not super-fancy, but has warm, comfortable, and inviting vibe. I am grateful for whatever ancient Chinese secrets are being employed here and can whole-heartedly share that Kung Fu Noodle deservedly earns a 5 star rating from me. read more

Nice, clean, and new-looking restaurant, with excellent food. We came in on a Friday around 5 PM and they already had two huge parties make reservations ahead of time. By the time we were seated and had ordered, about five more parties of 2-4 people came in and they ran out of space, so a head's up to either reserve a table ahead of time or get there early!! The staff were doing everything they could to get everyone seated and customers were promising to eat fast so that the reservations could still be seated on time. The usual staff is gone and new faces are in place. l always get takeout, and for the first time in several years mistakes have occurred. Over the last six weeks: an order for chicken and broccoli turned out not to have broccoli, but another vegetable I couldn't identify. A week ago, I tried again. When I got home, there was no rice with the chicken/ broccoli. Did they forget it, or do they now charge for rice? Yes, it's been busy, but mistakes never happened before no matter how busy it was.
