I'm always coming here for the pho; everything about it I love, I have come here time and time again. Whether it's with friends or a date, I've done it all. The pho is so rich in flavor. My friends or those dates could eat it alone; without the siracha or Hoisin sauce. They always bring the bean sprouts, jalapeños, and basil on time before the bowls of noodles come out. Appetizer timing is great. The spring rolls brings me back to my grandma's own homemade batches. When you grow up eating this food, it takes over your heart entirely. I can say, mom's food is always the best food. When I eat the ph here; I can't compare, but I love it second to my mom's. Now, to start! Excellent quality in freshness (veggies, everything!!) and flavor. The menu's rice plates are the perfect portions, they're so good you don't need to take it home! You finish it right then and there. WOW! Huu Tieu isn't a favorite of mine, here, it's divine. Everyone that I've invited to this location has loved it. Kudos to the cooks that create these dishes that hit SO close to home! Service is alright. They're on top of refilling your beverages, and aren't afraid to answer any of your questions about the menu. Around the end of their service at each table, however; they drop off the tab and don't collect the payment at the table. I had the Shrimp Paste Spring Rolls and Grilled Chicken Skewer to go. It was the first time in my life having the Paste version instead of actual Shrimp. Sorry to say it was just okay. Why not serve Shrimp instead? The Grilled Chicken was way overdone and blah. Dried out. I don't see how this restaurant is rated as #1. We have only ever ordered the pho from Miss Saigon, so that is what my review will cover. I'm not a pho connoisseur but from the few places I've gotten it, this is the best, and it's what I like. The bone broth is consistently wonderful and packed with delicious flavors. The combination I get is: meatballs, tripe, rare beef, and tendon. Now, for an American that may sound like an odd combo, but it's delicious and very satisfying. And, very comforting. Along with the accompanying vegetables and squeeze of lime and sauces, perfection. When we get it delivered it's always piping hot. We order it any time we want something different, but I have to admit the pho is a go-to when I'm feeling under the weather, and want something hot and comforting. We are never disappointed. Would have given 4 stars if I were rating the food only although I always take into consideration the service I receive especially during times that we can only order takeout. I was taking food for my family that was at the hospital. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss a thing since the hospital cafe is closed. I asked for silverware, chopsticks and Sriracha although I asked for it one at a time. I also added on to my order approx. 5 minutes after my initial order. I am aware that this was probably annoying although I disclosed to the gal taking my order why I had added on and why I was asking for so much. Rather than being understanding they were EXTREMELY annoyed. There was no excuses though. Their phone wasn't ringing off the hook and their foot traffic totaled 3 people while I was waiting on my order. I wish I could have told them what our family was going through so that they realized that what I was asking for was not that serious and was not worth the negative energy that they radiated! After looking at local pho restaurants online I found this place and decided to go check it out. My first time visiting I went in cheerful and excited. I ordered 3 phos and wanted meatballs on the side and the lady insisted I get them in one of the soups so I decided to put the meat balls in one of the soups not know it was an option to get as a side order. This was a to go order and so I browsed the menu out of curiosity while I waited for the soups , I found a milk tea with non dairy creamer . The experience took a down hill turn when I asked the ingredient for the non dairy milk tea. Very rudely She groaned really loud stormed off and brought back a big bag of non dairy powder and slammed it on the front counter in front of me. I felt dumb for even asking.. and then as I'm leaving I asked her is there a reason why she's giving me an attitude. She with an attitude while rolling her eyes responds " I didn't give you an attitude!" To make things worse a gentleman named Edward was passive aggressive and told me to "sit down and don't say anything" I said I'd like to stand up. His lips started shaking and he was furious and I said why are you shaking ? He said "your voice is scary" keep in mind I was soft toned and not loud at all. It's really weird how a paying customer next to me said to them "at least you could apologize". There were 2 employees that were much more professional I wish I got their names, a young girl was polite and said " she is having a bad day" And another young man said " hey I'm really sorry for that is there anything else we can do for you" that is customer service I wish they could have started out with that instead of getting defensive and prideful about it. So this is my first pho restaurant in Tucson coming from Vegas pho restaurants and unfortunately my food was okay. I got the rare steak pho and the meat itself was just not good quality. Seen in photo. It's no wonder they give you so much of it. The broth itself was good though. I also ordered tempura shrimp and unfortunately got tempura calamari. Sadly, I don't like calamari whatsoever but it wasn't horrible but it was what I ordered so that was a bummer. Miss Saigon is probably my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in town. This Campbell location is great although the one near Congress has nicer decor. The pho here especially #21 definitely hits the spot. The shrimp spring rolls with peanut sauce is delicious and this is one of the few places in town you can get boba. I really do like their grilled catfish with coconut curry too. Miss Saigon definitely has really good food and it's really great to be here especially when it's cold out. read more

I was really missing this place the other day so I ordered take out. The summer rolls were very fresh and loaded w veggies, sliced pork and shrimp. The peanut sauce was just right also. Great find Vietnamese cuisine outside of Little Saigon in California. Service was excellent and atmosphere is what you would expect from an authentic Vietnamese restaurant. Simple and Clean. Yuuum~ I love Miss. Saigon! I had eaten at this place on the night I went down to Tucson with my pal to visit my other friend who had just moved down there to attend medical school. As soon as we walked in [watch out for the door!] we were assaulted by gorgeous young men. They had me at hello... literally! We were seated at a quaint little table. I had the bun, one of the ladies had a rice plate, while the other had pho. Oh. Em. Gee. Everything was sooo good! I haven't found a place that made bun as good as they do in California! I've been here three times and I'm always more excited each time I visit. Personally, I'm not much of a fan of the Tucson area. For whatever reason, it always smells like raw sewage. I'm not sure whether or not to attribute it to the homeless population or the municipal waste removal services, but it's just plain awful. This, however, is the sparkling gem of that waste 195 square miles. The interior is not fancy by any means, and I'm inclined to believe it lends the establishment a sort of "old country" feel; if you replaced the silent hum of hybrid-electric vehicles along Campbell with the tired puttering of cyclos you'd very likely feel like you were actually in Saigon. The service is usually just above average, the wait staff are fairly well in-tune with clearing the table, refilling water and retrieving the check in a timely fashion. They're also very friendly despite what might seem to be a language barrier for some of them. Waiting for a table can take a few minutes, however, but once seated, drinks and food come out quite rapidly Insofar as the food is concerned, you'd be hard-pressed to find better Vietnamese anywhere in Arizona. The Pho Tai is absolutely phenomenal and inexpensive to boot. The Com Cá Chiên Cari Da (#56) is equally impressive. Whenever I'm in Tucson I always make an attempt to stop in for a bite. Definitely my favorite place in the area and a hearty recommendation to any planning to visit the area. read more

It's not the most upscale restaurant, but most good Vietnamese places aren't. It's just a good and quiet location to enjoy some good rice noodle soup and spring rolls. However service is just not great even for someone who doesn't ask for a lot of service. Been there at busy times and they ask their customers to leave when they're barely done with eating because "we have limited tables and other people are waiting". It's not like we sit there for 2 hours after dinner and last time I checked I'm not in Hong Kong I'm in US. And also on couple occasion boba tea came with rock hard boba, when notified the server they look unhappy and exchanged a cup with equally hard boba. Would have liked to see crispier bigger bread, pork without little pieces of bone in a bite, less fat/grit and I asked for double the veggies but it was less than the normal amount of the veggies and meat compared to other places. Their sandwich was also an entire 12" compared to a shorter 6" for the same price elsewhere so I have to give then that. This is a clean restaurant with good ambience and location. I hate to be the dissenting voice, but we were very disappointed with dinner last Friday night. So, here goes: Appetizer: Vegetarian Spring roll. Very bland and hardly any tofu in it. It was easily 75% lettuce! Watery, weak tasting dipping sauce and the rice paper was rather rubbery. Pho: Chicken broth base with catfish and chicken breast. Broth was flavorful but it couldn't make up for the tasteless spongy catfish and the miniscule amount of and very thin slices of chicken breast. Even with adding jalapenos, chili sauce and whatever condiments we could find, we couldn't get this to taste like much of anything. Charbroiled chicken in coconut curry sauce over vermicelli. The sauce was tasty and you could tell that the chicken had actually hit the grill. The vermicelli was over cooked and cold which rapidly brought down the chicken temp. It was the best dish of the three we had, but still not up to par. Service was rather slow, and yes, they were busy but it could have been much better service. Oh, and the women's restroom was a disaster!! We had given up on Miss Saigon about 5 years ago and, sadly, I guess we'll keep looking for something better. Or skip the Vietnamese food and head out to the excellent Thai (Saing Thai) in Rita Ranch. read more

Miss Saigon is the quintessential Vietnamese restaurant, at a perfect location proximal to the University, making it a great spot for students for dinner with friends or a brunch-time weekend lunch to cure that hangover from the night before over a hearty bowl of pho. In my previous experiences, the broth for the pho is pretty flavorful, and they give a decent amount of meat. This particular visit, my friend and I tried the spring roll and fried tofu appetizers. I also ordered the spicy broth with thick noodles and sliced beef. The spring rolls were well wrapped, with a slice of beef and shrimp in them. They tasted fresh, and were a nice portion for an appetizer. What really shines however is the peanut-satay-like sauce they serve it with, rich in flavor that helps give the dry spring roll a little needed "mmph" if you will. They also serve the sauce with the fried tofu. The fried tofu was cut to smaller pieces than I've had at other Vietnamese places, and the breading was a little cakey for my liking. However, they did provide a large and generous serving of the tofu. The noodle soup was very tasty, and not too spicy. Like the pho, the broth held up well on its own, and only for better when the additional sides were added (squeeze of lime, mint leaves, bean sprouts, jalapeño slices, some Sriracha).
