My boyfriend needed his fancy slacks dry cleaned because we were too scared to mess it up, to which we decided to get it dry cleaned. We were expecting a $$$ fee as other places seemed expensive, but this place was really well-priced and affordable! They also did a great job in getting the stains out and there were no wrinkles or complaints on our end. The shop seems to be family-owned and they are very quick with everything (ours took 3 days). The laundromat is awful. I got the exactly same experience as James P. The owner told me not to come again without reason. And the clothes washed in the washing machine were not thoroughly rinsed of detergent, and the dryer did not fully dry them. Their machines are just too old and the owner has a bad temper. read more

Suddenly, and with no explanation, the owner told me to never come back. I had been going here for wash & fold for years with no problem, chatting with the owner and employees, tipping unnecessarily. Then, I get a note in my bag (not even a conversation), saying stay away. Did he confuse me with someone else? Who knows. But when I tried to ask why, he refused to speak with me. Unbelievable. It's cheap. They need to clean their washing machines. $3/wash load. Wash fold dry is $1.20/lb with a 15 pound minimum. The washing fold dry service has a good turn around, usually a day or two. Unfortunately, I've found new stains that look like grease spots on my clothes after using either service multiple times. They need to clean their machines. read more

If you have had a package stolen by Julie Lee, please contact UPS directly and file a police report. Your help is needed in having UPS revoke her license for being an Access Point. This is my story- it is long but it is important you read this if you are considering doing business here. On Thursday, September 28 2017, I had a package delivered to this access point. I received the email alerting me that it had been delivered at 4:08pm. I promptly left work and arrived around 5:15pm. I gave Ms. Lee my license and she began looking for my package. She said "It's not here." I showed her my shipping information and delivery details and she said "UPS never came, this is wrong," I let her know that my package was a very expensive computer and she needed to give it to me right away. She allowed me to come behind her counter and look around. I noticed one package, under her purse and said "that is probably it!" She said "no, that's mine." She refused to let me look at the package. I called UPS and they began their investigation. She was very uncooperative. The Watertown UPS distribution center called her, to which she replied that I had picked up the computer and signed for it and that she no longer had it. The Watertown distribution center had the driver go back to her location to retrieve the package. He had delivered 16 packages that afternoon and had proof of her signature for the packages. When he arrived, she again insisted that I signed for the package and she did not have it (forged my signature?). They informed her that UPS records all phone calls and has records of her telling UPS corporate that UPS had NOT made a delivery and that I did not, in fact, have my package. Upon realizing that she could not get away with stealing a pricey computer, she handed my computer over to UPS. Ms. Lee was caught in a series of lies while attempting to steal my computer. At first I thought someone might have stolen it because she leaves boxes (see picture) out in the laundromat unattended. Unfortunately, it was proven that she was the individual (attempting) that stole the package. It took 3 hours of investigation and intervention by UPS to retrieve my computer. Please do not do business. If you have been a victim of mail fraud/tampering/theft, please contact UPS and the Boston Police Department immediately. More voices are needed to shut this operation down. read more

I really like this place. Switch to it from Henshaw across the way when they messed up a shirt of mine. They check the clothes here when you drop them off for dry cleaning, prices are reasonable, and the woman is really nice. Can't really complain. Turnaround time is outstanding as well. read more

Today while doing my laundry at the local Brighton laundromat, 'Missing Sock' I encountered a dilemma AND I NEED YOUR HELP! About an hour ago now at around 2:45 in the afternoon today, Friday the 27th I went to switch out my laundry from the wash to the dryer and upon entering could see a man wearing a black shirt and slacks walking my direction, chanting, "Left, left, right left" as though he was marching in the army. As a mother to an 8 year old I have mastered the art of "ignore" I step into the laundromat and sure enough, 'man in black shirt' follows suit and proceeds to go to the back of the establishment. GREAT, I realize, he works here. No wonder he was comfortable with being loud and obnoxious. I snap back into 'ignore' mode and shuffle a basket on wheels over to empty out the contents of my washers. All the while I am distinctly aware of 'man in black shirt' moving about with ease and comfort- spraying down the front counter, moving things around- finally settling in the back space that separates the room that the washers are in (for the sake of the story, 'the front') and the room where the dryers are (the "back"). He watches me walk directly past him my basket of wet laundry all the way over to the dryers. (Note: I am the type to take things in and take note so I moved at a snails pace in order to track whether 'man in black shirt' was following me still, and he was. After unloading the clothes into the dryer and putting the quarters in, I begin to walk towards the door. (Note: The exit is to the right, 'man in black shirt' is standing on the left, the dryers are in the "back" of the laundromat) As I walk past 'man with black shirt' I make eye contact and I kid you not HE LICKS HIS LIPS AND BITES THEN BITES THEM - SEVERAL TIMES at which point I completely stop, make direct eye contact AND HE SMIRKS. I keep walking but stop right at the doorway of the entrance so that I can write down what I remember before I forget At which point THIS DUDE PROCEEDS TO COME TOWARDS THE DOORWAY AND SAY A SERIES OF OFFENSIVE, WOMANIZING AND DEGRADING REMARKS. I turn right around and ask him point blank if he is talking to me, to which he replies with a smirk, "Yeah" (Note: Meanwhile homegirl and homegirl jr are standing in the back watching) I walk directly up to him and in a stern voice I say, "All I am doing is my laundry and you are making me feel uncomfortable". I then ask for his name. It's David. So PLEASE, if you do go to this place and you know who I'm talking about or you've experienced an uncomfortable interaction with "david" can you reach out to me? I for one can not step a foot in there again, no matter how convenient- I can't even got over there to get my laundry that's probably done by now. I unfortunately don't see what more I can do to ensure that he doesn't do this to anyone else or has a job there or even the place be allowed to run it's business. These ladies, who I know own the establishment, sat there and said NOTHING! I will not sit idly by. I am a Daughter, a Girlfriend & a Mother. This place is so convenient to my apartment, I so wanted it to work out. The dry-cleaning always seemed acceptable enough, a little on the sloppy side but fine. However, I recently brought a shirt in for a very simple repair (slight rip right along the hem). I generally bring repairs up to a place on Newbury Street, but this one was just so basic, I figured Missing Sock would be a quick, cheap alternative. Wrong! The repair was so poorly done, my regular tailor will have have to perform serious surgery to fix it. I mean, she butchered it. There is no way any reasonable person would have found it acceptable, and it's insulting that they would even try to pass if off as 'repaired'. It actually looked much better with the hole in it. When I confronted the seamstress about the work, she just muttered something semi-incoherent about not having a sewing machine and charged me for it anyway. With the abundance of alternatives in the area, there is no reason to give these folks your business. UPDATE: Since this review, I have been going down the street to Cleveland Circle Cleaners and am very happy with it. The attendant (who I assume is the owner, because he's the only one I've ever seen) is incredibly friendly and accomodating. I had him replace a zipper on my jeans and it was an excellent repair. read more

Over the past year, I've dropped my laundry off here a few times. I want to like this place, because it is very close to where I live, and the people are friendly. Regrettably, after I pick up my laundry, I inevitably discover that it's not really clean. It's as clean as if it had been washed by a teenage boy--that is, like it was washed in cold water with no soap. I use cloth napkins at home, and that is where the deficiency is most obvious. Food stains don't get completely washed off. Also, my cotton clothes come back without that fluffy, soft feel they get when washed correctly. If I do a load of laundry in HOT water, with detergent, the cotton gets soft and fluffy, and the napkins should come back very clean. This place is okay, but not worth paying for. Also, I once had then re-sew several buttons onto an overcoat, and they did that wrong. They sewed the buttons flat onto the fabric. But if you go look at the way a button is attached, especially on a coat made of thick material, it hangs away from the fabric by a couple of millimeters. It may seem like a minor complaint, but now I am annoyed by this every time I put on this coat. It makes the coat look weird--it binds, and it hangs incorrectly--when I put it on. At some point, I will take it to my regular tailor and get it fixed. read more

I usually only use this place if I need my laundry the same day and don't have time to do it on my own. It's not bad for a dollar a pound but I'm not sure they use great soap because my clothes never smell like detergent. They've never overly shrunk my clothes but it could just be what I wear, but my boyfriend's and his roommate'a clothes almost every time they've gone there. If you have the time to drive and more time to do laundry there are much better places, but when you're in a bind it works for small work clothes loads. read more

I love this place. Lots of washers, lots of dryers, and cheaper than any other place I've found. The ladies are friendly, there's comfortable seating, and carts that you can use to transfer your wet clothes to the dryers, or to hold your dry clothes while you fold. Their tailoring and dry cleaning service is top notch. I've had jeans and slacks hemmed there, and you can't even tell that they've been shortened. Also, I sat in blue gum in a pair of my black slacks and did everything to try and clean them. Ice, peanut butter... you name it. The ladies at the Missing Sock got that gum out without a mark. I have only been here to do my own laundry. Pros: Not too busy. Quarter machine. One couch. Snacks. Cons: Overpriced, especially those tiny side-loaders that cost $3- I can never fit a whole load in there, so I end up splitting it into two washers, paying $6 just to wash. Dryers are big, and 25 cents for 5 mintues, so you save a little there. read more

The Missing Sock is my go to laundromat since moving to Brighton. I use their wash and fold service. They are prompt and reliable with their pick up and can usually get things back same day when you schedule a pick up early in the day ahead of time. Prices are fair. My favorite aspect is that they take the time to fold your clothes well. For instance, shirts all face upward in the correct direction, not inside out. They keep your items separate too. Eg. they keep shirts with shirts, sheets with sheets...not mixed all together. read more

Not a lot of machines, but my guess would be around 20. 3 dollar per load to me is on a higher side when you can fit a max of 15 pounds in a load. That aside, fairly okayish service with non-smiling but helpful owners. Dry cleaning is also not bad with average they took for my clothes was between 2-4 days. Meh, not too bad. read more

I'm reviewing this place purely as a laundromat - not as a tailoring service. Anyway, they are decent enough - plenty of machines, which are usually in decent working order, and an inexpensive shirt pressing service. One touch I like is all of the old books and magazines lying around the facility; it's not a bad place to wait around. I take a star off because most of their washers are those side-loading types that fit less laundry and cost more, and a further star for the very cramped layout. But if all you want is a place to wash your stuff, the Missing Sock works fairly well. read more

I brought in pair of brand new white shorts that needed to hemmed up 2 inches. When I came to pick it up on the day they told me to come in, the shorts were returned, but instead of being hemmed, they were dry-cleaned (they mixed up the order even though it was written clearly to hem them 2 inches)....since the shorts were brand new, the tags (black!) were still on them and the dry-cleaning made the tags bleed all over the pants, turning them from bright white to gray (also left a really dark black ring where the tag was attached). They ended up keeping the shorts a few extra days to hem them, but they still made me pay for the service, even though the ruined the shorts. NEVER AGAIN will I return here !! read more

Do NOT give this place your business. They are liars and thieves. I had been coming here for 3 years because they are down the street from my apartment. Last month when I dropped off a wash and fold one of my shirts went missing. They told me that I must not have given it to them, which is definitely false. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but the second wash and fold after this event they charged me an extra $26 for a bath mat. I told the lady when I dropped it off that I need two separate washes because one load was a bath mat and towels. She said OK, $6 extra, fine whatever, that was new. When I came back she added $20 because there was a bath mat that was washed separately. So she charged me for the separate washing for $20 and refused to take off the $6 even though the rest had been washed together. Even after she admitted she should have told me when I dropped it off!!! You would think they would treat a consistent customer better but no. Beware, avoid this place if you can! read more

I've been a customer here for about 2 years and I think this place is wonderful! I've done by laundry and have had things tailored here. The prices are reasonable compared to a lot of other places. The dry cleaning is a decent price. I've gotten by pants and shirts dry cleaned at some other local locations and they'd cost be $7.50 a piece so this place is practically a bargain. I drop off my laundry every week or so and I've never had any complaints. My clothes come back clean and fresh every single time. Perhaps some of these other customers should stop raising their standards. Their mothers aren't the one's washing their underwear and cleaning out every single stain anymore. These people want the best service but aren't willilng to pay the extra money. This place is absolutely amazing. The employees are friendly and the place is kept well. It has a very comfortable atmosphere if I might add. There are also refreshing beverages and candy that are sold as well. When I used to do my own laundry, I'd always bring my laptop to do homework or to browse the web. They DO have free wifi but it is protected so all you need to do is ask for it. I can't blame them for protecting their password, I bet a bunch of residents from upstairs who aren't customers would steal it. Overall, I love this place. I will be getting my clothes done here for as long as I can. read more

While living in Cleveland Circle for 4 years, my husband and I used The Missing Sock every other week or so. At first, we did the usual laundromat "do it yourself" approach, but after a while, we got lazy and opted for their drop-off / pickup service. While some may see this kind of thing as expensive at $1 per pound, it was well worth it to us with crazy schedules. Over the years they did our laundry for us weekly, they were always incredibly reliable and did a superb job. Contrary to the name, I don't believe even a sock was ever lost! We've since relocated to live abroad and I'll miss their services! read more

This place is THE WORST. I have had my dry cleaning done here three times. It's very convenient and each time I wanted the last time to have been a one-off. I've conclusively decided they were not. Every person who works here, who I have had the misfortune of interacting with has been so rude and entirely unhelpful. The prices are cheap. But, they do a bad job with the clothes and it is a miserable experience coming here. They write a dual copy receipt with the pieces you've dropped off when you drop off your dry cleaning. Thank God I kept my receipt for when I came to pick up my clothes. The woman had changed the handwritten receipt to reflect more clothes than I had dropped off. Then she had the gall to claim my receipt (the one we counted the pieces for together when I dropped them off) was incorrect. I was forced to unwrap my clean clothes and count them out for her again. Previously, the same woman had promised she could dry clean a suit for me within a certain time frame (I dropped it off on Friday 11:30 and wanted to pick it up by Monday morning). She assured me this was fine. THEN, on Friday night she calls me to say that in fact she cannot get it done by Monday morning. This may have been fine, but for the fact, I was leaving town for business and needed the suit by Monday morning. She caused me to waste all of Friday afternoon, where some more competent cleaners could have been starting to work on my suit, or at least I could have gotten it in the cue. Again, this place is the absolute worst. I could not recommend it any less. If you have any ability to go literally anywhere else, do it. read more

Looking for a local place to do your dry cleaning? Then look further than this place! I'm posting this review after having my dry cleaning done three (3) times! That's right--I gave this place 3 chances to get it right! The first time I received my dry cleaning, I noticed what appeared the be a grease stain on my pant leg. I didn't think much of it--who knows--maybe it was there before I got my dry cleaning done. Okay--I let that slide. The second time, I noticed a similar grease-like stain on my shirt. I knew this stain didn't come from me. I was 100 percent sure. I tell them about it--no accountability. All I get was "Oh sir that was there before". They were wrong, but I moved on from that. This third time--the same exact thing! I had recently purchased a shirt and wanted to get it pressed before my work week. What do I see when I picked up my shirt? You're right--a grease stain right on the front of the shirt. But wait, there's more--I found these odd "grease" stains on 3 out of 5 items I gave to them. I don't know what product they are using when dry cleaning, but clearly they are unaware of how to properly do it. Why pay someone to CLEAN your clothes only to receive them in a worse-off state? Honestly. I can't believe I gave this place three chances. Now I'm certain the 'grease' stain on my pant leg, from my first experience, was from them! Do NOT come here for dry cleaning! You have been warned! Oh, and don't expect them to take ANY responsibility if you do confront them! read more

I retrieve my laundry after it was done, and did not put my laundry away till a few days later. The laundry is always sealed in a plastic bag provided by the Missing Sock, and I did not remove them out the bag until I was putting my clothes away. As I was putting my clothes away, several of my white clothes had pink stains. While one dress had black track stains like a stamp of some sort. I called the Missing Sock, and told them, of what I found. They told me, they do my laundry the way I do my laundry. I stated, I do not pay you to do my laundry the way I do my laundry and that I would bring the items down to show them. I brought the clothes that were stain, and took them all out, including an item that I had shown the boss with a pen stain I had initially asked if they could remove the first time I arrived with my laundry. The pen stain was not removed, and on the back of my item were pink stains. I asked for an explanation, they stated it was pink lipstick, they found in my pocket. I said it was impossible for it to be pink lipstick or my pink lipstick,as I do not wear lipstick, and if I were to wear lipstick, it would not be that shade of pink as my skin tone is too dark for that shade. I also mentioned the fact that, if it was in my pocket, where was that item, why wasn't the item with the pocket covered in pink lipstick,and which item was it that they had found the lipstick. The employee did not have an answer for any of these questions. I also asked them to show me the lipstick, and they said they threw it away. The employee then called her boss, who attempted to yell at me over the phone, that they do laundry the way I would do them, and that they not guarantee anything. During the call, the employee, while still on the phone with her boss, told me that they did not know what the stain was. I asked why they said it was lipstick, and she shrugged and said nothing. I asked for them to dry clean my clothes and to remove the stains, and they said I would have to pay for the dry cleaning. I refused, and asked them a 2nd time to dry clean my clothes, or to refund me for the drying cleaning as I do not want them to dry clean my clothes and ruin it a 2nd time. I left with my clothes. On top of that, I do not think they use soap to wash the clothes. I filed a complaint with the BBB. read more

One star because they cleaned my clothing. Four demerits for stealing from me. The girl who worked the counter is the same size as me and I started noticing that select pieces of my clothing were missing after having them cleaned there. A one-of a kind skirt I made, some knee high argyle socks, a t- shirt, a cardigan. My husband's clothing always came back but mine never returned. I was told to check the "lost" bin but they were not in there. No compensation was offered b/c i could not prove it. I had dropped the items off in a bag of laundry to be cleaned. They should rename themselves the "Missing wardrobe." read more

I was always against paying to get my laundry done, but this place is amazing and I feel like a prince! Nothing better than picking up my clothes the same day and all my shirts are pressed and hung for me; they even press my boxer shorts ! I recommend this to all those non believers! Would give this place a 0/5 star rating if possible. New to neighborhood & was planning on using this place for laundry. However after my experience with the workers when trying to retrieve package has lead me to never want to set foot there again. This store is a UPS drop off site and I went with my receipt to pick up a package. After searching for one minute the women rudely came back and said "it's not here". I checked my UPS tracker and it said it was signed for at the store four days prior. The woman refused to listen to me and handed me a package scanner saying "if we have it our name would be on this screen". I checked and my name was in fact on this screen. After speaking with UPS, who also confirmed a second time that this store has my package ($100+ shoes I may add), they called the store on their own and the woman yelled at them and hung up. Completely unprofessional attitude towards both myself and UPS. Am surprised this place is in business and is allowed to be a UPS access point. Missing sock laundromat? I live right down the street from the Missing Sock so it is very convienent to me. The Missing Sock is a very friendly and helpful place to get my clothes done at. I never had any problems with the alterations done on my clothes. I gave them a strapless silk dress, and I needed them to alter the waist because the dress was too big for me. I got it back in two days and the dress was a perfect fit! The employees were very respectful with my needs and my clothes always came back very clean, and in good condition. read more
