I brought a bridesmaid dress in to get altered and the alterations ended up being more complicated than expected. However, my alterations were finished quickly and I am amazed with the seamstress's work! My dress fits perfectly and the staff was so pleasant and professional throughout the whole process. The seamstress took the time to explain her work and what alterations needed to be done which I really appreciated. She put so much attention and care into her work and it shows in the final product. Extremely disappointing experience I am extremely disappointed with the level of customer service at this laundromat. A customer arrived at 8:46 PM to pick up his clothes, even though the business hours clearly state that the laundromat is open until 9:00 PM. Despite arriving before closing time, he was refused service without being given a reasonable explanation. What was even more concerning was the employee's behavior toward me. Rather than handling the situation professionally or explaining the reason for refusing service, he became disrespectful and told me to "shut up you fu****." Customers should never be spoken to this way, especially when they are simply trying to receive the service advertised during the business's posted operating hours. There is a significant difference between having a policy and communicating that policy respectfully. If customers are expected to arrive before a certain time for clothing pickup, that information should be clearly posted. Refusing service 14 minutes before closing and then responding disrespectfully is unacceptable customer service. I strongly recommend that management review how customers are being treated and whether the posted hours accurately reflect the services actually being provided. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend this laundromat. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but my experience at Brighton Laundry was unacceptable. While the facility itself is clean, the staff behavior completely overshadows that. I've been to this laundromat many times and the staff attitude is generally rude, however that does not bother me as everyone has their own things going on. However the latest instance is just completely unacceptable. An employee named James was openly rude and discriminatory toward a deaf customer -- my mother. He spoke to her from behind, then snapped and rolled his eyes when she didn't respond--despite the obvious reason being that she couldn't hear him. Instead of showing basic understanding, he escalated the situation with unnecessary attitude. On top of that, they shut off the lights and force customers out right at 8:50, even if machines are still running--despite starting them well before the final call. We were rushed out mid-process, which is incredibly frustrating especially when we just spent $100 worth of laundry at this facility. Most laundromat's I've been to in the past at least let you stay a few mins past close if you have less than 10 mins left on the dryer. To make things worse, James continued yelling at us in the parking lot after we called out his behavior toward the deaf customer. No one should be treated that way. Clean space or not, the staff's attitude is unacceptable. I would not recommend supporting a business that treats customers like this. read more

I have brought in almost a dozen pants to get hemmed here and am always satisfied with the service and value I receive. I recently brought in some pants for some large alterations and the seamstress was able to bring in pants that were about 5 sizes too large in the waist to now I can wear them without a belt. The woman that does the sewing is friendly and personable, however the guy who works the front desk is one of the worst retail people I have ever had the misfortune of interacting with. I go in for an alteration and he says it's not possible so I go ask the woman and she says it's an easy fix. I live near this drycleaner and go rather infrequently. When I do go, they are typically easy to work with/efficient. However, yesterday I brought by a stained sweatshirt in that had been through the dryer and asked if there was anything they could do to fix it. Although the woman at the front desk did identify that the issue was the laundry detergent dye that discolored it, I found her rather unhelpful. She basically told me there was nothing I could do for it because it had already been through the dryer. Later that day, I went on youtube and used white vinegar and cold water to get the stain out. It worked almost instantly. While I understand there may have been nothing she could do for it on her end, I feel she could have been more helpful and provided some guidance rather than just dismissing my issue. I found the interaction rather frustrating and was ultimately able to solve the problem myself. read more

I thought about holding off on posting here because the lady at the front desk has always been kind and helped me with some buttons no charge. But then I saw how many posts on here were about this ***hole in the pictures on google reviews and after reading through them--I think my story tops most of them--sadly. Beware of that a**hole and this place. I drove over and arrived at 8:34pm on a Thursday to pick up two suits for a trip an important meeting I was flying out for at 6:00am the next day. I called before I came to check it was open and nobody picked up but obviously I needed my suits so I drove over. Mind you the hours posted on the door are closes at 8:50pm. I pulled into the driveway to see one light on in the far back turned off by that ***hole. I called again and heard the phone ringing. I then started knocking on the door and after about three minutes he came to the door exasperated--mind you 8:40pm at this point. "What do you want, what are you doing?" Obviously I said, "I'm here to pick up my suits, I need them for my trip tomorrow." And he said, I'm sorry we're closed. "You're not and I've been here since 8:30. Please give me my suits." Too bad. I cashed out the registers." He then started lecturing me about coming at the right time blah blah blah. I even leveled with him and said "hey man, person to person this is a really shitty situation and I have no other suits for my trip tomorrow. Have a bit of sympathy." "Be more responsible with your stuff" he said as he drove off over the curb. It was 9:15pm there was nothing open--I drove to TJ Maxx on the off chance they would have something my size--and there was nothing. In December, I went to the staff at Brighton Laundry & Dry Cleaners with two challenging asks - and of course, their alteration skills were top-notch. Ask #1: Holiday party dress. For this dress, they took in the sides, adjusted the ill-fitting top and altered the neckline into a deeper 'v' (see the pictures for a 'before and after'). Ask #2: Custom winter gloves. They also made me two pairs of custom gloves for the winter, as I cannot wear standard gloves. I greatly appreciate their attention to detail - it makes all of the difference. I live in the heart of Boston, and it is ALWAYS worth the drive to bring my alterations to them. They provide high-quality work for a fair price, and they often work very quickly. Not sure what the unfriendly reviews are about... I've never had a bad experience at Brighton Laundry and Dry Cleaners. I have been doing my laundry at this laundromat for the last 3 1/2 years and have not had any unpleasant experiences. There are many laundromats that are closer to home but I always make my way to this one. The weekends (from what I've noticed) are ALWAYS busy, so prepare yourself if you plan on doing your laundry over the weekend. I've never had a problem on a weekday after 4PM so that's my typical go-to. I recently started bringing some of my clothing here to get dry cleaned (something very new to me since I usually stray from "dry clean only" items), and I have to say... I am super impressed. I had a shirt that had weird oily stains all over the front and back that I couldn't figure out how/when they got there. They told me they'd get them out, and they did! I've heard horror stories about getting clothing dry cleaned and I have no worries about bringing mine here Thank you, as always for the great service and having such an awesome/convenient location. These people run a good business. I had a suit getting dry cleaned and I got caught out late running errands and wasn't going to make it in time before they closed at 10pm. I had a fight to catch at 5am the next morning, so I needed the suit that night. I called in a panic and of course they couldn't keep the store open late, but thankfully they were generous enough to offer to have me pay by phone and leave the suit concealed outside the shop for me to grab, if I didn't make it before they left for the night. I arrived as they were locking up, and we handed the suit off anyway. Most businesses wouldn't go out of their way on behalf of the their customers like Brighton Laundry did for me and I thank the kind staff for excellent customer service and will certainly continue my patronage for all laundry and dry cleaning services. They also have an extra deal on Wednesdays where they wash and fold your laundry at 1$/pound--great if you're in a rush or just feel like getting pampered once in a while! read more

I have been washing clothes here for about a year and I keep giving this place a chance. The staff are extremely rude! I see a staff member that replies back to these comments and he's blaming the customers. They take no ownership when something goes wrong. Don't dare use the sink to wash your hands or the caps of your detergent! Your head will get chewed off and they will tell you that you don't pay the water bill! This is such a beautiful laundromat but the customer service makes it ugly Update: The owner has responded to my comment and decided to tell me that the sink is there to wash my hands. So what about my caps? What about when I'm washing my hands and I'm getting scolded for doing so?! I don't complain about their prices and how they have went up. So don't bother me when I'm using the sink! You like to come inhere and respond negatively instead of correcting your rude staff! Since moving to the area, almost a year ago, I have been using the Brighton Laundry & Dry Cleaners. I had tried a couple of other local establishments, and was not happy with the results. Contrary to other reviews, I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful, unless you cop an attitude toward them. Their machines are always clean, they are constantly cleaning link catchers, washing out detergent ports, emptying trash cans, and sweeping the floor. I have only used the dry-cleaning service twice, and both times, my clothes were done perfectly, and ready when promised. The place is well lit, easy to find, and has - for the most part - ample parking in front and along the side of the building. The prices are very reasonable for washing and drying self service. Only once did the heating element on my dryer load not work. Didn't find out until the timer was done. My clothes were still wet after 60 minutes. When I mentioned it to the staff, they immediately let me move the clothes to another dryer, and used their staff card to let me dry them again. During the Covid scare, I have never seen the staff not wearing the proper PPE. They always have masks on, and insist that customers do, as well. As long as I am staying in the area, the Brighton Laundry will be my "Go-To" place. read more

Not only is this place unclean and overpriced, customer service is terrible. I washed my comforter and then discovered 5 dirty rubber gloves from the workers in the machine. I asked the woman for a refund so I could rewash, and she blamed it on me instead of the workers that discarded gloves in the machine. She didn't understand why I wanted to rewash since the gloves were now "clean." If you want clean laundry, don't come here. *update to response below: That is not true. The two women working were wearing these gloves when I complained. Although it may be the customer's job to check the machine for leftover clothing, it is not our job to ensure the equipment is clean and doesn't have gloves stuffed in the detergent dispenser.
