Such good hot food! Love the atmosphere here at the restaurant. Top quality food. My 1st time to dine there. I was very impressed. Everything tasted so good.

Mission is one of the best and most consistent BBQ places here locally. Service is always fast and very courteous. And you get your food quickly. Plenty of seating for all size groups I like how they always have a special dish to try as well. This trip I got pulled pork with fries. So good. Smokey and moist and you get a good amount of meat. I love their fries, cooked fresh when you order. You get a lot for your money. The variety of sauces at the table is nice. My favs are the Smoky Mountain and Gator Bite. Rest of my family got ribs, pork, brisket sandwich. Sides of beans, cobbler and mac and cheese. All very good. My kids always get the ribs and love them. The baked beans are great with actual meat in them. We have tried so many other places but come back to Mission as our favorite. The consistency and great choices along with great value can't be beat.

Mission BBQ is one of my favorite places to go eat for lunch or dinner! It's nice to walk in and all the employees are so friendly and they welcome you into the building. The meals that they offer are very delicious as well. The serving sizes are generous, I normally eat all of it but I should break it into two meals versus consuming it all at the same time.

Brisket, chicken and turkey. Along with xxl combo. Dessert is banana pudding.

Stopped in for lunch. Hubby and I hadn't had Mission BBQ in a long time. Ordered the three meats and made it a 3 side combo. Was more than enough food for the both of us. The brisket here is moist, juicy and delicious. I also enjoy the homemade French fries. Service is delivered with a friendly smile. Always clean and inviting.

Great service but expensive. Got 1/4 pound brisket and green beans, no drink. $12 and mostly fat. I asked for half dry half wet. It was mostly wet = fat. The girl at the checkout said I could get wet and they can trim the fat. ‍ Corn bread did come with the meal but it was on the dry side.

The staff are really friendly. They go beyond to make sure you are satisfied. The food is constantly good. The fatty/moist brisket is my wife favorite. You also cannot beat the hand cut fries.

This is a top notch bbq. All is fantastic but the black plate specials are over the top. They ALWAYS treat Veterans well.

I cannot say for certain where the name Mission BBQ came from; perhaps the mission is superb customer service, affordable BBQ with excellent quality, mouthwatering sides or desirable desserts. Whatever the mission, what I can say is "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!" My favorite and usual go to is the sliced brisket, preferably moist but all other barbecue items are just as delicious and what you'd find from the person smoking meats on at your local street corner. The prices are very reasonable with satisfying, consistent portions and quality making this a favorite and reliable barbecue joint of mine. All sides and desserts are homemade and Mission BBQ even offers seasonal items that keep me coming back! Whether you get the cheesy potatoes or the Mac n cheese, I promise you your socks will be knocked off from the prevalent cheesy goodness! My favorite dessert is the Apple Pie cobbler which happens to be a seasonal item so if you are lucky enough to see it on the menu, stop everything and order two of them immediately! Mission BBQ has a rustic charm to it that feels very homey but the true reason a person would feel so comfortable and welcome is due to the incredible, welcoming staff! On numerous occasions, I have been provided free sides just from side conversations I have engaged with staff on. This chain also treats military personal unbelievably well and will give free sandwiches on Veterans and Memorial Day. If you sign up for their email club, you also will receive a free sandwich on your birthday. This is a great restaurant with great food run by great people. Try them out!

    Meat Sampler w/ Two Sides
    Greg B.

Two meat sampler with two sides and a drink. This was like $26 with tax! Pork was pretty dry and not much smoke flavor, kinda tasted like it was made in a crock pot. Turkey was pretty good but not life changing. Fries were under seasoned and the corn bread was very dry. Green beans were pretty good. The sauces weren't bad. I just don't think it's much value for the money. I don't mind paying more for great BBQ and I know the meats aren't always cheap. I think i'll stick to non-chain BBQ

Ask the Community - Mission BBQ

Is the brisket smoked right, pink ring around the edges, or not? Four Rivers doesn't get the concept, doubt a decor-driven place would. And what's with no collard greens? Blasphemy! Have yet to have barbecue in this state...

I'm not able to go back and verify because I live in West Palm, but the two times I had dined at Mission, it was closer than most (to the pink edges you're seeking) -- for the Tampa area.… Read more

After driving 30 minutes to that place in Plant City and realizing this, we decided, "why not drive some more?". Josephine's was on my radar due to their great reviews across multiple platforms, so we drove another 20-30 minutes to check it out. We arrived at the unsuspecting strip plaza, walked in to what was just one well lit, cozy strip in the plaza and were immediately greeted by Robby, the owner, who asked us if it was our first time in. We let him know that it was, and he proceeded to educate us on everything they have to offer, from their bar, their sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas, grocery and so on... the meatball sandwich was calling my name, along with their pizzas and their pastas - so many choices! I did land on the meatball sandwich and got a bag of chips and a glass of wine while my friend got the Italian salad and a coke. For note, this ran us about $45. It was well worth it. The meatball sandwich was 10" and was stuffed with fully ground beef meatballs, seasoned well and very cheesy - so good. I tasted the salad and it was great as well, with plenty of parmesan cheese to cover up the taste of leaves that I was consuming (I'm not a vegetables guy still). While we were dining at the bar, Robby took a bit more time to tell us how the store came to be, being named after his grandmother who, though she wasn't around to see what he had started, would no doubt be very proud as his/his employee service was excellent and the food was no different. At the end of our experience, Robby took our payment and we explored the store a bit. Robby was kind enough to offer me two of their mini cannolis and my friend a scoop of their salted caramel gelato on the house as a way of saying thank you for coming in; again, EXCELLENT service. Since leaving there yesterday, I have recommended the place to 7 people and will continue recommending it to more people due to their great value, service and delicious food. Huge thanks to Robby and the team at Josephine's for knowing how to do things the right way. I'll definitely be back.

But as I was walking the isles I caught a view of one of those cheese steaks and wow...I could see it was prepared with a proper Amoroso roll too. Okay, I got to check this joint out and glad we did. We ordered a large to split with fries. Perhaps one of the best in the area. Roll was fresh and steak done just right with cheese and onions. I finally had the opportunity no the privilege today to have lunch at Cousin Vinny's Sandwich Co…read more on Cass Street in Tampa, and let me tell you -- it was everything I hoped for and more. As a lifelong Tampa native who's eaten my weight (which is a lot) in Cuban sandwiches from La Segunda and PubSubs from Publix, I never thought I'd say this... but Cousin Vinny's just stole the crown as the best sandwich spot in the entire Tampa Bay area. (Sorry, Publix -- you've been dethroned.) What brought me in? Chef Carson, the incredible head chef who used to cook for me for years at one of my longtime favorites, Rooster & the Till. When I heard he'd joined this venture, I knew I had to stop by and see him in action. The moment I walked in, it felt like catching up with family. I told him to pick my first sandwich for me, and he delivered with the Capo Del Shmeet -- a masterpiece I will be dreaming about for weeks. Let's talk about this sandwich. It starts with bread made fresh by hand every single morning -- perfectly crusty on the outside, soft and airy inside. Then comes the star: hand-breaded chicken cutlets cooked to absolute perfection, crispy and juicy in every bite. The cherry pepper mayo brings a subtle sweet taste that plays beautifully with the bright Italian vinaigrette. Fresh arugula, provolone, onion, roasted red peppers, and capicola round it out into what is hands-down the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Every layer harmonized perfectly -- no weak spots, just pure sandwich perfection. But the generosity didn't stop there. Chef Carson treated me to his cannoli cream pudding, which is nothing short of divine. He mentioned that Guy Fieri stopped by, tried it during filming for an upcoming Food Network episode of Triple D (airing July 10, 2026), and responded by turning to Carson and giving him a big hug. I echo that sentiment 100% -- one spoonful and you'll want to hug the chef too. It's rich, creamy, nostalgic, and elevated all at once. To top it all off, I was sent home with one of their salted brown butter chocolate chip cookies. When it comes fresh out of the oven, it is topped with that perfect sprinkle of sea salt on top -- it created the most gorgeous sweet-savory balance with the melty chocolate chips and brown sugar. It's not a small cookie, but I confess: I took one bite at a red light and couldn't stop until it was gone. Cousin Vinny's isn't just another sandwich shop -- it's a love letter to Italian-American flavors done right, with heart, quality, and serious skill in the kitchen. If you're in Tampa (or willing to drive), do yourself a favor and go. Tell Chef Carson, Big Mike sent you -- and prepare to have your sandwich standards permanently raised. Go. Now. You're welcome. (And yes, I'll be back. Frequently.)

That kind of generosity says a lot about how they treat their customers. The food was phenomenal! The schiacciata bread is hands-down some of the best we've ever had, and the desserts were just as amazing. We loved it so much that we went online later and ordered the Tony Piccante for dinner--and WOW, it was just as delicious! We can't stop talking about this place. We'll definitely be back again and again. You truly have a gold mine!

The cheese melts evenly, the edges get that beautiful fire-kissed char, and the whole pie has that true fire-roasted flavor. The experience inside was just as good as the food.
