When I say this was some of the best barbecue I have ever had and seafood rice. It was definitely a 10 out of 10. While visiting in the area, we happened to see this barbecue truck on the side of the road and at first I was a little skeptical, but after going up and talking to the guys working, I just knew this was going to be a hit. First of all the seafood rice alone was almost $20, the guy working explained that it was well worth it and once I got home to try it I definitely understood why. There was some type of celery, olives, carrots in the seafood rice something that I had never experienced before, but it just gave it so much a flavor. It is definitely a neighborhood favorite but, The staff is always quick and courteous. I don't eat beef or pork but I love the chicken. Georgia Boy BBQ is legit. I ordered the large rib dinner and not only was it slow cooked and fall-off-the-bone...but the portions didn't let down either. Their sauce is definitely unique and I liked it. I got baked beans and Mac n Cheese for sides. The baked beans were really good with some beef in them that hit the spot. The first time I visited, it was very good the meat was good and cooked although they could have put a little extra beans and macaroni and cheese for the price it cost but, it was good. The second visit was nasty, the ribs were raw the baked beans was only baked bean juice with a few beans. The baked beans were empty and they gave me what the bottom of the pot. it was just juice, the meat was just raw I mean rubbery pink raw. I've driven by this place several times and finally decided to give it a try tonight. Man was it delicious! Got the two meat combo for me with sausage and chopped beef, and the two meat combo for my wife with ribs and brisket. Meat was cooked perfectly and the sauce was very unique. Darn good bbq!!!! This is the first bbq joint I've been to, where the sauce is not the star of the show. It's subtle with a little tang and compliments the tender, succulence of the meat. The ribs fall off the bone and have a smoky sorta flavor. It's located on Martin Luther king near the interstate in the advanced auto parts parking lot. Horrible experience. Ordered a sausage sandwich for lunch and brisket for 3 with a pint ea of greens and baked beans. Total $48.00 Sausage sandwich was a big mess, not necessarily bad but couldn't call it a sandwich as I was only able to salvage 1 slice of bread. Took brisket home and wife tried and made a face. I tried. Chewed and chewed... NG. Had to put in crock pot to salvage but reduced and wasn't enough to feed 3. . Greens were good but very salty. The ribs were flavorful, the chicken was moist, the pulled pork was tender, the mac n cheese needed some salt, the baked beans were nice and sweet but those greens... The greens were some of the best greens, if not THE best that I've had at a restaurant. I took away 1 star because of the BBQ sauce. He only had one option which was his signature sauce, and my family didn't care for it. It would have been nice to have other options. Because what is BBQ without good sauce??
