I had several medical tests done at a local imaging center, yet I was told I was responsible for literally bringing those results and they would not accept a fax/email, etc., from the imaging facility. Why?! Because that's their policy. Mm hmm. The location wasn't too far, so I took an Uber there due to not being able to use my right leg. I was dismayed that their main doors were extremely heavy and there wasn't a button to assist with opening. Fortunately, my Uber driver was kind enough to help. Extremely uncomfortable chairs in the waiting room and not one was made of anything but flimsy plastic. I was afraid to sit down and especially wondered how I'd get back up without use of both legs. I was made to go through another round of x-rays while holding myself in extremely painful positions before getting to the examination room. Fortunately, the news was mostly positive and Dr. Chance explained everything in detail and allowed time for me to make notes about his comments. I was told I'll need a leg cast and the nurse said I was okay to leave. Unfortunately, there was no one to help me open the enormously heavy double doors that lead back into the waiting room. Another patient who was paying at the back counter ended up coming to my aid. I'm certainly not looking for any kind of special treatment, but I do expect the employees to have some compassion or at least common courtesy.

She is having extreme pain in her knee, and we will be leaving for a honeymoon next week. The Sports Medicine Associates were much too busy to answer their phone... they have a system that says it will send you a text message so you can communicate with their 'portal' Klara. I got the automated message on the portal, and left a detailed message that we'd like to have an appointment so that she will be able to walk on our honeymoon. The automated Klara portal said someone would be calling within 24 hrs. Nope... nothing but crickets... The next day (24 hrs after they promised to call) I left another message with the Klara portal. Again... nothing... no response. By now, I'm thinking... these guys are so busy, they don't have a receptionist or office manager that can call us back. Finally, we get a message on the 18th, asking if we can come in on the 19th. The address they give is in San Antonio, in the Medical Center area. My fiancée cannot stand to drive into San Antonio for anything... we were hoping that someone in Boerne could help her. So we ended up saying "forget about it". For all I know, the doctors at this practice might be really talented. We didn't get that far. Just know that they are way too busy to talk to you. Don't worry... their AI portal will also ignore your requests too.
