One thing I like is that you don't have to drive to a different office to get blood work done. Everything is in office. That is convenient. The lady who drew my blood was sweet and funny. Then they tell me I need to go I for a nurse visit to get my vitals to complete the preauthorization. 2 weeks later I get another $10 bill because the nurse visit wasn't covered by my insurance. Pay it and move on. 2 more weeks later I get ANOTHER bill for $5 for the same nurse visit and the billing department say they don't know why it's separate, but I have to pay it. It's not a lot of money, but I hate the nickel and dime-ing. Figure out your billing and charge me once!

Continued to get worse and the following Tuesday I was running a temp between 100 and 104.  Made another appt on that Friday and explained symptoms were getting worse another BRIEF exam I was told take OTC. No additional script. It would work it's self out.  Sunday symptoms were not improving so I called to and the PA for meds.   I was told she would call back.  I called a second time and was told she would call but probably not till tomorrow. Never received a call At 8:30 I went to another urgent care. They did a thorough exam inc X-rays and determined I had early Pneumonia.  Obviously I won't be back.  I was charged 2 deductible's.  Wouldn't be a big deal except I had no relief from their exams.

I specifically asked about pricing and was told the blood work would cost $25. Based on that information, I agreed and scheduled the appointment for the following day. When I returned, I completed the intake paperwork and had my blood drawn without any mention of a different price. Only when I went to check out was I told that I owed $150. I was then informed that the higher cost was because I was not using insurance. While I understand that insurance status affects pricing, this was never disclosed ahead of time, and I was never asked whether I planned to use insurance or pay cash. Had I been told the correct price upfront, I would have waited until next month when my new insurance plan begins and done the blood work then. When I questioned the discrepancy, the receptionist was cold and detached, taking a very matter-of-fact tone rather than showing any effort to understand my perspective or acknowledge the miscommunication. The main issue here is transparency and patient care. I left feeling like just another number, with little concern for how the situation affected me or whether I chose to return. Clear communication upfront would have completely avoided this experience.
