This is the best smog place I've ever seen. Exceptionally clean. They are really helpful and welcoming and speak good English unlike some local places. I came in with my jeep about a week ago and the man at smog test said that my vehicle would not pass because the fix engine light was on. The man and his wife (I'm assuming are the owners) were very nice and they let me know that they could repair the jeep. I got the sense that I could trust them. This intuition rarely fails me. My husband wanted me to take the Jeep to a Jeep dealer. After reading the reviews of local jeep dealers I told him I cannot, they are so badly rated. I took the Jeep back to Mission Smog and the son of owners walked me through the process and took on the repairs. He was very professional and the job was great - reasonably priced and punctual. My Jeep is finally cleared for registration renewal and I was spared a lot of frustration. read more

The only reason I'm not giving this place one star today is because the real Owners (the parents, not the young boy who works there) are some of the nicest people I've ever met and I have always respected their work ethic and customer service. I wish I could say the same for their son who has not learned a thing from his parents when it comes to customer service. He has absolutely no control over his emotions and he takes it out on customers. Beware of the weather or anything that might set this kid off. Not only did he offend me, he insulted his parents in front of all of his customers, and ultimately embarrassed himself. I'll shares some quotes from him as I remember them. I showed up at 10:30am as a walk-in customer with my 3 year old son. The owner (the mom) came out and greeted me as they always do (with kindness). She told me there was a 1.5 hour wait and to return then and I'll be seen. I looked at my clock and said ok, I can come back at 12pm and you'll see me? She smiled and said yes. These are some of the boy's comments after I showed up at 11:45am: "You don't have an *entitlement* coming here, you have to wait just like everybody else" and "It's going to be another hour before we see you" and "I have to yell at my mom all the time for being too nice customers" and "yes, she did schedule an appointment for you but she was just being nice" and "It was our mistake" and "If I were being treated this way I would leave" and "I own several businesses" and "I'm the owner of this business" I've been coming here since this boy was still in school and driving his brand new Subaru. He is very lucky to have the Parents he has and acted pretty ungrateful from them today. The mother came out and demanded that I be seen next and the kid just about threw a tantrum. Overall I think the parents are scared of that boy and I would recommend you take that into consideration when choosing your next family business. I drove here from Livermore today because I've been taking three cars here for years but I just learned I will never return to this place again. I used to live in Hayward and couldn't stop coming here because they used to be consistent. He really took something that was a simple-easy-to-fix-customer-service issue and turned it into a power trip within his family. He made everybody look bad and nobody here is happy. Really, I hope this boy learns his lesson and works on controlling his emotions if he is going to take on the responsibility of calling himself a business owner. Here's my message to you young sir: If a customer is going out of their way to do business with you, and you make a mistake, you should try and at least make it right. Don't send them off packing like they are not worth your time. Also, you might want to work on your emotions, it wasn't my fault that I listened to your mom and showed up on time. Lastly, always respect your family....your mother was right and knew exactly how to fix the mistake. Instead, you sent me away. Strange way to treat your customer. All I can say is outstanding! My husband and i brought my truck in for and emergency smog after my truck became a salvage vehicle. In order for me to get my truck re registered i needed that...asap! We got in on a saturday, were told we had a 45 minute wait and to have a seat in the waiting area. Ten minutes later, we were still by our truck when the lady who was there came and asked me for the keys..we ere going in!! The total time was less than 25 minutes, in and out! The owner, Son, was very friendly and professional and made us feel very welcome. The best part of this was...the total cost for the transaction was the lowest we had found in the area!! I came here to get 2 food trucks smog checked for the company I work for. There was a mistake made where we brought the food trucks back to back for a test but the same VIN was used for both trucks. Went back the next day and the nice lady realized the mistake and while I was waiting in the waiting room she told me, with a smile on her face, that they'd do it again for no charge (even though we would have paid regardless due to urgency of time). I came here one week day after reading yelp to get my car smog for the car registration. The wait was not too long. The test took them about 15 minutes. After the test, they auto send the test result to DMV so you don't get a real certificate. Oh yeah, about the price, $40 is not cheapest. You'll find some places that's few bucks less. Customer service here is amazing. Son was very friendly, and accommodating. I stopped in for a Smog in the middle of the day, so I asked to eat my lunch while my truck was being smogged, Son said "No worries!" The office is very clean, no dirty oil smell, like most smog/auto body shops. I hadn't even finished my sandwich, and my smog was finished! Son offered me water, several times. I was in, and out of there in a matter of 15 minutes tops! I would highly recommend this spot for anyone who has an automobile. They also have a mechanic shop connected to their smog station. Dropped my 2002 highlander off and engine check light prevented smog evaluation. Turns out there is an auto shop here too! Great service as before, transparent and well explained. Ended up spending 2k+ but my highlander drives better then it has in a long time now. I have SERIOUS trust issues esp with mechanics but this spot was worth traveling from richmond to go with Son and his crew. It's been a few months and in still very happy with my repairs.
