I told them we would be picking it up over the following weekend (about a 2 1/2 hour drive from where we live). When I called that Sat morning--just to be sure that the machine would be ready for pick up--I was told that they had sold it. The woman said it was a mistake...still very uncool. They take walk-in donations and also do pickups. They have housewares, clothes, some furniture, Knick knacks of course, books, purses, shoes, pet stuff, games, crafts, etc. All at really low prices. Shirts, capris and shorts are $4. Long pants are $3. They are a 501c3 non-profit, raising money to start a shelter for dogs and cats. Talk to Maggie and she'll tell you about all the other cool programs they want to implement: a prescription food bank for low-income residents, assistance with prescribed drugs for your pet. They were hardwire fixtures from Lowes and had never been out of the box or even opened. Probably a couple hundred dollars worth. Common sense there ain't none and they'll get no more donations from me. I drove all the way to Englewood from Port Charlotte to give them those lights and I also gave them a brand new propane heater worth over $249. Pathetic.
