For dinner tonight, I had Southern food on my list and was pleasantly surprised to find a drive-thru line that went back out onto the highway. Of course, there is room inside, so I squeezed into a parking spot among all the other cars and squeezed my way into a packed little room. Sound charming? Well, when you are looking for authentic local food, that kind of business at 5 PM on a weekday means that you have found a gem. MS Fried Chicken is exactly what the name states, and they do it great here. I ordered a meal of four pieces (customized: 2 breasts, 2 thighs, they have no problem with mixed orders), sides of okra and beans, an extra side of corn fritters. So the ambiance is crowded and tiny, as I mentioned, and you can see the kitchen pretty well as well as everyone running back and forth. Service was great. Really great. OK, incredible. They were flying through the drive-thrus and the in-persons and the phone calls one by one by one so that I didn't even have to wait 10 minutes before my food was ready. I have no clue how they manage to pull this off day after day, AND at the same time do everything with a smile, explain things patiently, get your order right... my young cashier and server Bella informed me there are free beverage refills between supplying the kitchen and cleaning tables... all the big and little things done right here. As far as the food: You will be fed. Come hungry, leave happy. The chicken parts are huge and flavored amazingly. Perfect crust, perfect doneness. The beans are juicy and meaty and so tasty, I could have had that as two sides. But I haven't had okra yet down here. So let me warn you: the okra side comes with at least six entire okras sliced and fried. I could not finish them all. It was too much fryness. But wow was that more than I've ever seen. The beans were a nice size side, the okra was gigantic. My third extra side? The corn nuggets? Get the large of that with 20 nuggets. Heck, get 100 nuggets and make that the meal for your family. They have corn kernels and cheese inside, light breading outside, come out hot and soft and gooey and sweet. Unbelievable. So so so glad I picked this place for dinner. Get off the highway and make your way into Waynesboro for this place. Don't worry about the line - you will get fed promptly and you will love every morsel. read more

We were passing through and found this place on Yelp...You know it's going to be good when you pull up and there was literally a line of cars around the corner for drive through. We opted for fried chicken with fried pickles and corn nuggets. Everything was spot on. Fried chicken was delicious and the corn nuggets hot and fresh. Food is always top notch, and fast, friendly service. Building is small and rather run down, but don't judge a book by its cover.

Redownloaded this app just so I could leave this review. Holy moly. This restaurant was a spectacular experience from top to bottom. Went in and it was packed with locals in the drive-thru and inside, so that already was a green flag. Staff was friendly and helped me and my buddy with our orders, we each got a 4 piece combo which comes with two sides. This place is SUPER cheap too, so that's another positive. Sat down at a table and I couldn't help but notice the artwork and pictures on the walls. Not super flashy at all, looks like something I'd see in my grandma's house which added to the homestyle feel. Our food came out within 5 minutes. Holy cow, the portions are great. Everything was nice and hot, I really wish I had gotten a picture but the food looked too appetizing to not dig in immediately. Fries were an easy 10/10. Baked beans were an 11/10. Chicken was a 20/10, holy COW this chicken especially was no joke. This is the best fried chicken I have ever had. AND this place has free refills. Everything was perfect. I could not recommend this place enough. I'm sad I'm only visiting for a day because I'd have it every day if I could. Don't understand why you'd go to a chain which you can find anywhere else when this place is anywhere near you. Wow! All the locals obviously love. We went after normal lunch hours and the customers never stopped! Not the biggest or best place to eat in but 95% was take-out. Customer service was great and food ready in record time. We would rate everything we had high: chicken, chicken fingers, fries, fried okra, potato salad and baked beans. And price was great! Don't really see what the hype is. It's fried chicken with not really a lot of crust. The large pieces were cooked to long and were tough and dry. Mashed potatoes tasted like instant with a powdered brown gravy. The okra was nice and crispy. Fast, friendly service. read more

If you like a greasy spoon hole in the wall kind of place, you will love this! It has many options to choose from! Waynesboro is not a place that you would plan to go to unless you had family here! We are 40 minutes from Laurel, 45 minutes from Petal, 1hr from USM Campus in Hattiesburg, 1hr 45 minutes from the Gulf coast! Orange Beach approximately 2hrs 30 min from Orange Beach!! I'm an import because my daughter and family live here. It has some nice dress shops, and gift shops! A Walmart that is always busy! We are close to Alabama line with lots of rural communities! This is my 1st time (day) in Mississippi. I was on the road over 2.5 hours and I wanted something good to eat. I found this spot with only 3 reviews. I arrived and the place was packed. I ordered the 2 piece beast and wing meal with okra and mashed potatoes/gravy. The food was delicious! If you're ever in the area and have a taste for some southern fried food, this is the spot. They have everything from fried chicken, liver, okra, salads, etc. they are also packed, but they are pretty quick to get your orders in and out. It's mostly a pick up and go spot, but you do have a few seats in the area. They are a little heavy on the salt, but just ask for light salt and they'll take care of you. They also have grilled options for those that want to try that. It's definitely a spot you have to try out when traveling in the area. read more

Catfish filet was a little on the small side and had typical flavor. Would definitely get ham steak again. They are known for their fried chicken, but I haven't tried that yet. I will on next visit. this place has great fried chicken! Outside was nice and crispy and not dripping with grease! Munchers are serious bad for you food but really good! Think jalapeño and cheese hash brown. Tiny little fried apple pies are also a side option. Drive through probably had at least 10 cars in the drive through and another handful of people inside.
