This place is cool, made by the Quiet Place and Heretic creators, a place for movie lovers. They even do rooftop seating. Just a really cool place and cool workers. Why TF doesn't Illinois have places like this? Because when people become successful there they leave that B because there few people are grateful for where they're from, and I don't blame em. People there are users, weirdos, avoidant attachment like a mofo.

Stop in early for an adult beverage, see a movie, then hang out after the movie for another beverage and talk about the movie...it's a win, win, win.

We drove from Kansas City to the Quad Cities to see one of our favorite bands - The Way Down Wanderers. This was our 11th time seeing them and Iowa made for state number eight and the venue was a great experience. Good sound and acoustics, small and intimate with a bar, large screen monitors, and tables for limited seating. I would love to see more shows here.

Gone are the friendly bariastas I remember from summers past. This place reminds me of a rock 'n roll Starbucks knock off. Which is fine. Just not my cup of...tea...err...coffee. Good place to grab a cup of joe if you happen to be downtown, though. And I'd love to have a chance to catch some music there on of of my future trips.

Living in Chicago now, a Guinness runs me $4-6. Paying a buck for a Guinness is a treat; paying ten bucks for ten of them is sublime. The Russian judge deducted a star for the bartender's failing to remember us. Carding your regulars might explain why there's no one there to begin with, ma'am.

We spent a wonderful winter's afternoon at this quiet (and warm) museum. There were only a few cars…read morein the plaza-level parking lot off of West 2nd the day we spontaneously decided to visit (this lot btw is the best place to park). As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable museum associate--she informed us of the layout of the museum, gave us a brief description of the exhibits, and helpfully recommended that we start at the fourth floor and work our way down. It was probably the most organized and efficient welcoming presentation I've ever heard! It was also a bonus that afternoon we showed up on a "free visits" day. I think normally they charge about $14 per person. So, we took what looked to be an upscale freight elevator to the fourth floor and started with the elegant Raven and the Box of Daylight special exhibit by Preston Singletary...this is a very cool multi-sensory work that presents the Native American folktale of how the raven brought daylight (and stars and the moon) to the earth. The interplay of sound and light with the beautiful glass sculptures were really calming and wonderful. The exhibit will be there until August 2026. On our way down to the third floor we saw some mysterious double doors by the elevator that looked like an exit but had a small label nearby, "Wintetgatden exhibit." Good thing we went through the doors because there was an adorable bronze sculpture right on the other side, as well as an expansive view of the Mississippi from a wall of glass windows...a light-filled staircase winds down towards the third floor, and I believe this is the floor with a viewing area set up with easels for drawing! This was a unique and fun part of the museum visit, and there are chairs nearby for relaxing if you don't want to draw... The second floor houses the museum's main collections, including a large collection of Haitian art; we were also able to view a traveling exhibit from D.C. We enjoyed seeing a nice mix of portraiture, landscapes, still life and abstract paintings, sculptures, video art, furniture, and fiber arts... The first floor has the cafe (not open when we were there) and the gift shop... which was very fun to browse. I picked up a book, several stickers and packets of novelty tea for only $1each. This is definitely a fun, lovely, and enriching place to visit if in the Quad Cities area!

I asked and they said base floor is parking to boost it above flood stage. There is a lot of off display storage with other admin and mechanical space. It's still a very nice museum and recommend it. The hidden gem is take the back stairway down from the upper floors. There is a nice sitting and art space overlooking the Mississippi. I do wish the museum store had more to offer and there was more comfortable seating off the bar, which also overlooks the Mississippi to enjoy a beverage or snack while enjoying the view.

All were doing the 1/4 mile race. There are even juniors racing their cars. In the back there were trucks and jeeps racing through mud/dirt which was pretty cool. It is a BYOB so keep that in mind. It located across from the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on W. Lotus Street. They have a mixed menu of American and Thai dishes they offer. The Gypsy Highway's vibe is a cross between nostalgic late 70's, early 80's biker bar, live indoor/outdoor music venue, while being a full service restaurant and bar. They also have a small arcade in the back a few what look to be video poker or slot machines by the bar, 3 very large LED displays strategically placed around the bar and a massive projection screen TV on the indoor stage when nobody's playing. Sorry I didn't get to look outside at the wood fenced in area, where the wooden outdoor stage is. There is lots of seating and they even have dance nights, local bands perform regularly, and other events. Like when I went there was Trivia Night. This place has been a long time local scene in the West End of Davenport, IA for decades. Couple of the downsides about the atmosphere is the noise. It's Loud. For off hours and a Trivia Night, but not loud enough that you can't hear the person talking across a large round table ment for a party of 8-10 people. The amount of flashing lights in the place. If you have any issues with flashing lights you might not want to visit. There is not a single sight line place inside that does have some sort of constantly flashing light. Even lights that would have been of at any other venue or palace that host bands at their establishments wouldn't run strong stage color ambient lights on, especially those sitting behind a massive screen. Anyone sitting in the back and looking towards the stage (even though those seats not that many but unlucky) are in for a painful night out, if not there for a band. The food is 50/50 depending on what you get. Presentation wise I would give it 80 to 100%. I was with my family and got to try 4/5 dishes. They I had the Yellow Curry w/ Shrimp. I have to say it was really good. It was sweet and savory the Jasmine rice was delicious with it. My only complaint with the dish was it should have been served in served in a bowl of some kind and w/ some Naan bread to help clean the bowl at the end. Serving on a plate made the dish hard to eat. Next up Chicken Tinders and an order of Onion Rings. This should be avoided at all costs!! They look great, but have absolutely zero flavor and taste. That's hard to do when the batter is supposed to be Bear Batter. Same with the french fries. Next is a Cheese Burger w/ (+) Bacon and Onion Rings instead of the Fries. Well the burger was well made and delicious. The Bacon was thick crisp and 4 slices which was good. The replaced Onion Rings well that part gets worse. The count was a measly 5 and not even large ones at that! Last one I got to try was the blackens grilled fish. It was a fillet of haddock covered with some sort of white gravy served with a few pieces of zucchini and a couple of red potatoes halved. I didn't get to try the veg. The fish I did. By itself it was pretty good, but with the gravy it was not noticeably, not as good to almost being tasteless. The gravy overwhelms the fish and doesn't complement, nor enhance the flavor. The waitress we had was nice and answered our questions promptly. She did check in with us from time to time. Overall she gets a 9/10. Hope y'all like my review and read next time.
