There were campground hosts and state employee very present at the campground. It seemed well organized and executed. They pointed out the area where bluebells were and were helpful with various other things. There were two campgrounds, 1 for tents or others who do not need an electric hook up. There were some that had really nice decking, etc. there was a great area and few sites were used over the weekend. We we on the other side in the area where electric hookups are available. There were lots of campsites here with electric but this is the first time we have found a camp that offers electric but does NOT have water at each of the sites. With a water tank we could fill it wasn't a problem but it is unusual. They are building more sites it seems in the park and that would be awesome. The campgrounds have one toilet in each campground and the larger bathhouse/shower facility. This is pretty consistent compared to most parks but it is a bit unique that there is a major trailhead and lots of day use folks coming in a place that includes showers for campers. The park has great trails that were really well marked. We enjoyed checking them out and noticed a lot of others doing it as well.

Nothing very special, but nice…read more (I wouldn't drive far, to see it). There are prettier parks in St. Louis.

For $5 a person parking/admittance, we joined some others at their campsite for the day. The sites were well-maintained, the rocky beach was clean, and it was a joy to spend the day on the cool river. We didn't need floats, but TRL had them available for rent, had we wanted them. Afterward, we visited the shower houses (which were pretty clean), cooked dinner on our grill, and watched the kids play on the playground. Before returning our day passes, we looked around the general store at the t-shirt, river toys, rafts, and more, followed by two scoops of hard ice cream in waffle cones. I would definitely come back, and I wouldn't recommend this campground to anyone looking to enjoy the river. Tech notes: I had Verizon 4G at the general store and at the campsite, but I was roaming at the river. There are two Pokestops near the general store.

Their equipment is always in excellent condition and their service is great. This trip was exceptional because they had just had a terrible storm over night and the owners had been up all night. The resort water was out, their internet was out. They were still awesome. Even though the river was up and a little fast, we had a great day!

Ground was covered in recycled tire treads, and the play equipment was just her size. There were a few benches, a pavilion with picnic table, and porta potty nearby in the area where she played. There are also some fun and unique features: - there is a small but picturesque waterfall (a bridal party was taking photos while we were there) - there is a mini Statue of Liberty, how fun and patriotic! - there was also a war memorial with some remembrance benches Of course, there were also some typical park attractions like a (very hilly) walking path; gazebo; pavilions with picnic tables and grills; koi pond; basketball hoop; and shady, grassy spaces to enjoy and be one with nature. This is a small park, and park was either street side or in one of two very small lots. This is not a busy spot. If you come here, it's to enjoy some quiet time with a grandchild (or niece or kids!), have a small friend and family gathering, and relax in DeSoto's small town hospitality. They take good care of their parks!
