I've been going to this Hillsborough Carwash location for four years now even before Mister Carwash bought them out. Since Mister Carwash took over this Carwash, it has seen a steady decline in the operability of the Carwash. For three weeks now the front left brushes that washed the drivers door and the drivers fender have not been working. The employees that work there says yes they know it's been three weeks but they have 47 locations and they don't consider this a priority. Totally unacceptable after I pay all this money every month for three separate cars and still I have to wipe the car down myself after every wash. Greed at its best! read more

My car hasnt been washed in several months so the dirt was THICK. I paid for the premium wash which was $38 for all the flare for interior and exterior. It was a bit busy since i came around 12:30 on a weekday so the job was obviously rushed tho it still took 35 minutes to complete. There's only so much the machines could do, i know. So the guy at the last check point before u drive off did spot checks of the exterior and hand washed the spots the machine missed for me. The interior cleaners sucked and clearly didn't care about a final spot check. read more

We have a monthly car wash program that offers unlimited washes. I've used this program for now 2 years and think it's a good value and my car is always clean. I find that I'm always in and out quickly and it's a quick checkin process. Just drive up, get scanned and head to the wash. Taking less than 10 mins normally. All the people working there move quick and Hustle. Have yet to experience anything negative. Multiple locations available to use as well. read more

Recently I've seen them setting up the tables for interior cleaning, which was paused for Covid. I came by on Sunday @ 10:30 am. Pulled right in and picked the platinum package, paid, and headed inside. The inside is totally changed, no desk, air freshners, coffee, popcorn, or even a desk with a cashier. All transactions are handled by someone with a tablet walking around when you pull in. After ten minutes or so step one was done ;the vacuuming. They drive your car into the washing machine and pull it out to the detail area. I always tip the vacuum people and the detail people, they often go the extra mile. I had an accident with a drink in my new truck and the driver saw it and offered to pull my floor mats spray them with cleaner and wipe them down. They don't even do that anymore! Great service, quick and easy. The price for a platinum is only $34, well worth not having to clean my truck in August in Florida. Need a local car wash that's not brand new with rookies washing and detailing your car, do yourself a favor; Bring that muddy junk pile you call a vehicle to Mr. Car wash. read more

Buyer beware! I had been a customer at that location going on maybe six years now off and on. Because I drive part time for Uber I need a clean damage free vehicle so I can get good ratings. Yesterday I went there first thing in the morning (February 2). The dude that greets you and takes your payment has the personality of a wet dish rag. He mumbles, and I couldn't understand a word he said. But I thought maybe he's having a bad morning and just mad at the world, whatever. They finished with my Jeep and the wash was OK, the hand drying could've been better, and they left soap streaks on the entire windshield, so that wasn't even cleaned correctly. It is a 15-minute drive home during rush hour traffic and I parked my Jeep in the driveway. Four hours later, I was looking at my wheels. They have always been without damage. I noticed at least five deep gouges in the right rear side aluminum wheel. I was upset to say the least. I attempted to call that location and my call was disconnected five times. So, I drove down there to speak to a so-called "manager" about it. Before walking outside the building and walking outside to look at my jeep. He denied it and saying that damage never happens at that location. In not so many words called me a liar and said it was not their fault, or anybody on their crew. The example that he used was a Tesla that was rolling out at the time, and he said "That car is fine, so I don't see how it could happen to yours" basically calling me a liar to my face. The Tesla was 30 feet away from where we were standing. He told me he could file a report, but it will be denied. So, his regional manager will be talking to him. As I am trying to talk to the "manager" and get this problem taken care of, he walks away and says, "You are not welcome here anymore." Reading the reviews at that location from other customers. Damage to customers cars have happened many times before. And always stating that the "manager" denies it every time. This is an ongoing problem with that company. This will be plastered all over social media, Yelp, and a call to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Rub-a-dubb-dubb the car is getting scrubbed. This isn't a children's nursery rhyme, just a way to keep the auto clean and shiny. Mister Car Wash has gone through major changes over the past year. Gone is the counter which issues your receipt--It's now issued when you pull up. Also gone is the little gift/card shop when you walk in. They no longer ask which scent, if any, would you like. And no more soap gun to shoot soapy suds as the vehicles roll by. So sad for both young ones and those bigger kids who want to get those extra suds on their cars *ahem*. But, it now has a modern, streamline vibe which it needed. Just a skeleton crew was working today to finish out the machine-washed cars. This made the wait a little longer than usual, and I had to request the inside of the trunk lid be wiped down. Again. It's a car wash. Nothing more, nothing less. Paid for the $35 service the most expensive from list the gentleman showed me on his iPad. When I got my car the trunk wasn't vacuumed so I told them and they cleaned it. Then when I was about to get in the car I noticed the middle cup holder was still very dirty. I should have paid for the cheap one and my car would have probably looked the same. Not happy read more

This is one of the most disorganized car washes I've been too. We have the unlimited wash package. They just opened their Unlimited Members lane and so I pulled in there only to be told it's for exterior washes only. I asked where the sign was for that and their reply was "Ya I know. They have to do something about that." Then I was told to back up and get in the other long line. I suggested they put a sign up and the response - I kid you not - was we're not allowed to do that. This is just the latest thing that's made me really reconsider going there. The attention to detail is gone ever since they stopped allowing us to tip individual workers - some were great and should be rewarded, but that doesn't happen anymore. I guess it wasn't "fair" or some such crap like that. My suggestion is to find another place. That's what I'm doing read more

Because it's convenient but a little pricey. --- --- --- I've been on the hunt for a place that does oil changes and car washes near my house, but I had to settle for finding a couple of places to do each thing separately. The pro: The waiting area is a very comfortable. Find a couch and set up shop for 20 minutes while the folks transform your car from being a mess to presentable :) The con: It's a bit pricey compared to other places I've gotten a car wash. And for paying what I did, I expect the interior to be virtually spotless. They did a pretty good job, but there were definitely a few parts of the dash and center console that didn't get a lot of love. Mister Car Wash is really close to my house, so I think I'll end up using them from now on. read more

Cate was looking rough. After hosting a doggie sleeover party, there was a layer of dog hair in the back seat. Couple that with a a bird dropping that was the size and shape of a battleship on my rear bumper, and I knew I had to act fast. Having had brunch in this part of town, I looked for a local car wash versus driving to my usual spot in South Tampa. I pulled the car in and told the guy I needed the inside vacuumed and a regular wash on the exterior. "So, that will be a $20 up charge that's standard for the dog hair, and we don't guarantee it, since it's, um, dog hair." Um, ok. For $20 I could have spent enough quarters to pay for 2 hours of vacuums at some other spot but I was already here so I went with it. I sat in the lobby and waited to see my car pull up to the drying station. It looked like two young men were spending some time on my wheels so I stood outside until they flagged me over. I gave one the tip and proceeded to drive off. While driving I noticed a few things. There was still hair on the dashboard, and the backseat had not been wiped down. You could still see paw prints. Upon getting home, there were water marks all over the car, and the battleship sized bird poo was still intact. How does that happen when you have folks scrubbing before the wash, the wash itself, and a team of folks walking around your car after? There were some clean spots on the rims, but about 80% of them were still covered in road grime. Sadly, $40 poorer, Cate was still looking rough. She looks like she'd taken a bath in some 7-11 sink when what she really had needed was a real shower. I'll spend my hard-earned money elsewhere. read more

I'll echo a lot of Sam Q's feedback from his review of over a year ago -- Octopus Car Wash was sold and is now renamed Mister Hotshine Carwash. It's located on Dale Mabry, just south of Waters Avenue. I usually run my SUV through their tunnel of grime-busting delight about once a month, and two or three times a year I pay extra for the hand waxing. Today I was in an especially generous mood and took my Toyota in for a full exterior detailing. The guys spent about two hours buffing away years of tree sap, road grime, and general neglect, and then rebuilt the shine so that my SUV is looking like new. They did a truly outstanding job, and I watched them digging the junk out of the crevices on the body and then hand buffing the areas that they couldn't hit with the orbital buffer. They took their time, and didn't try to rush the job. In the end I have a spectacular-looking vehicle, and I'm quite pleased! read more

This is my first negative yelp review I have had to make. In the past two months I have gone to Misters at N Dale Mabry and in Brandon. I paid for the $38 premium wash and asked for a wipe down of my seats. Each time the car was ready so fast with no lines or wait time while I was there yet the cleaning job was so rushed leaving my car still dirty. Crumbs in the seat still, side doors still dirty, dusty trunk and the seats weren't even wiped down as I asked. When I asked them to wiped them down (again) it was so fast that it was left with spray dots and half way cleaned seats. On top of that my front glass has streaks! I tried to give this place a chance but I'm found cleaning my car after the money I have paid for my car to be cleaned. They continuously ask me if I want the membership but why would I ever go for that if my car is never cleaned as it should?! read more

I've been coming to this car wash for 20 years. It is now a Mister Hotshine Carwash, not an Octopus Carwash. The new owners have made a lot of upgrades and good changes. They have monthly packages where you pay a monthly fee and can bring your car as often as you like. If you want a quality detail job done, ask for George in the detail shop. He hand washes and waxes my car because I don't like to take one of my cars through the tunnel. He's been detailing my cars for 15 years. Sometimes it gets really busy and they rush your car through, but every time I've called a manager they've taken care of me. So five stars for this place as far as I am concerned! read more

My car went in without any damages any where. Don't let them tell you they were going to void one charge and charge you another. This used to be a great carwash, but it is now the worst one in the area. When you pay $16 for the exterior wash your car comes out soaking wet. They will not dry it for you and you have to either bring your own towel or drive off with no visibility through your side windows and mirrors. Aweful experience. read more

She never told me no one would dry the car or clean the windows (outside) bc they were still dirty. I've been a member of their unlimited car wash deal for 6 months now and I can't speak more highly of it. For about $30 a month you get unlimited washes which for me is necessary having a white car in Florida. I go to the Dale Mabry location and it's always a less than 10 minute affair to drive through the car wash to get my exterior cleaned. They make it so easy (a team member just scans the barcode on your dash and away you go) and there are so many staff on hand at all times. Highly recommend! read more

I came to the car wash mainly for an interior clean of my red supra. I moved all of my valuables out of the vehicle except for my sunpass pro. Come to find out, my sunpass pro is missing. I believe to be stolen by an employee who is now racking up points on my account. They "cleaned" that out but left multiple other bits of the vehicle a mess. I will not be coming here ever again. This was my first time taking my car here. I paid for a hand wash and hand wax ($100). When I picked up the car the exterior was spotless (right before being ruined by the rain) but that's not their fault. However, the interior seemed as if it wasnt touched. I could see some small dog hairs on the dashboard that I had noticed before and it was still dusty. My rubber carpets still had the same sandy dust as before and it didnt even smell clean... I probably had to pay for a air freshener which I completly forgot to do. I was talked into buying the monthly deal before I paid and now I am glad I didnt since I wont be coming back here. The location itself its great and the waiting room as well, I wish the service would have been comparable to what its being paid. read more
