I grew up on Mr. softee truck when I was a kid. whenever I see a truck I will still get even though it's over $5 nowadays. when I found out there was one nearby I had to check it out. the store also makes sundaes and serve regular hard ice cream but I will always go for the vanilla soft serve. Mister Softee has a STORE? Awesome! I've grown up with their classic ice cream truck riling down my street. This was, as they say, next level. According to the locals, this is the original 1950s era first store, "where it all began ". Works for me. Fellow YES Squad member Dee M and I came by on a very warm summer evening. We parked in their decent sized private lot, then headed inside. The space is bright and clean. One area is lined by rows of ice cream cases (they sell scoops too!), behind which are very cheerful employees abandon rows of soft serve machines, toppings, work counters, and, above, giant painted menus. We ordered - I got delicious soft serve vanilla & chocolate ice cream on a cone. Dee got a divine "classic" sundae with coffee ice cream, chocolate syrup, wet walnuts and whipped cream. We sat in a nearby booth made of curved, laminated wood, ate, then waddled back to our car, happy. Definitely a place to go next time I'm down the shore. This was the only ice cream shop open (in December) so we stopped in. Quick service and we're greeted as soon as we entered. I ordered an Oreo flurry and we were out of the shop in minutes. It was a tasty treat. Only one size so I would only wish there was a smaller option in the future! More ice cream than I could finish. Excellent ice cream! A highlight of any trip to Villas (or anywhere nearby)! They have Leiby's ice cream, which is AH-MAY-ZUH-ING!!!! I even tracked down Leiby's headquarters in PA, north of Allentown. I asked if there was anywhere else near me where I could find their ice cream? Unfortunately for me, their closest sellers are in Bucks County, an hour from my home. I guess that makes my visits all that much more special! Leiby's has intriguing flavor choices, always up to speed with new trends, and the quality can't be beat! I have a homemade franchise right near my home (Handel's), and while it is 5-star ice cream for sure, Leiby's is still better! The staff at Mister Softee is always patient and kind. They genuinely want to make sure your order is just as you want it, and that you have a good experience with their ice cream. A huge bonus!!!! They have a DRIVE THRU!!!! You can choose to go inside and order, or drive thru like fast food. At peak hours, both options can get really busy, with lines, but I make sure to go around that, and it's always super fast, and orders come out perfect! Love, love, love Mister Softee!!!! So shocked to find this place which is en route to my parents new house down the Villas. We had just finished breakfast at Uncle Bills and still had some space in our bellies for some dessert! Cannot go wrong with my childhood favorite ice cream spot! When I walked in, we were welcomed with a video that was in black and white of the beginning of Mr. Softee and their early years. It was a pretty cool thing they had on display to learn a little bit more about the company. When talking with the counter person, I was told we were inside the very 1st Mister Softee and it had been there since 1952! which to me was also pretty cool! I wanted to get a soft serve twist (chocolate and vanilla like I had as a kid and my daughter opted for the hard ice cream. They had so many flavors to choose and my daughter walked back and forth staring through the glass trying to figure out what she wanted. Up on the wall they had the menu and a bunch of toppings to choose from which was pretty cool too. My daughter picked out her flavor and got jimmies (sprinkles for you non-Philly people) on it. I never seen my daughter so happy about ice cream, and I was shocked to see that she ate the whole thing, usually she tosses it after like two or three scoops. I was also very satisfied with my twist on a sugar cone. It was really big for a small and was surprised about how cheap it was also. I paid around 6 dollars for both of our ice creams which was a really good deal! I will be making my way back down here soon, I know the next time my parents head to the Villas, I will be heading to Mister Softee. read more

I was so excited to see a mister softee on the island! I haven't had this since I was a kid and could immediately hear the ice cream truck music in my head. The drive thru was packed so we walked up to the window, the lady was very nice and had our order right away. I got the double cone with chocolate and vanilla and it was just as I remembered. The soft serve ice cream was good, (tasty and great texture) but i've had larger servings at other Mister Softee locations. The small size here is really small. Just yesterday I ordered a small at the Maple Shade location and it was three times the size of a small in the Villas. I do recall feeling like I was robbed when we received our small cup orders though. I'll try it again to confirm the size differences. read more

This is our new go to ice cream place when we are down in the Cape May area. They not only have soft ice cream but a large variety of hard ice creams not to mention tons of toppings and sundaes. The prices are great and they accept card others don't and they are pricier. I wanted to mention that they have dole whip as well and Philadelphia water ice.
