I have been blueberry picking since I was a little kid with a coffee can hanging around my neck with a string of yarn. I always have & always will love the experience. I have been to farms in PA, NC, & SC. This was my first in MA. When we arrived, we met the owner, Bill. He was very nice & directed us to the bushes & gave us our buckets. My first observation: the bushes are enclosed in netting, you have to enter the area through mesh doors. Okay, smart move- keeping the birds out has enabled the bushes to have a HUGE crop. Every bush was bursting with large, ripe berries. We picked nine pounds of berries in no time, it would have been easy to keep going. The charge was $30, much less than you would pay in the stores for this quantity. The property was beautiful, and the farm was the perfect size. I'm happy to support local farmers, and we'll be back! Bonus tip: blueberries freeze well, so why not pick extra?!?

Bottom line: they are doing this the right way. I had no physical contact with anyone so all i needed to do was wash the groceries when I got home, which I do anyway! Great service. They have multiple little green houses / tents, some of which you can rent out for events. Their apple cider was really good; it wasn't too thick, it was perfectly sweet, refreshing, and tasted like fresh apples. The apple cider donuts were the best I have ever had (they were freshly made, so that might've played a part). Some of the characteristics I loved about the donuts is that they were moist, the sugar on it wasn't overwhelming, and a great size. They also have some animals, mostly chickens. Some of them were roaming around outside their coop but most of them were living their best lives in their coop. As a lover of chickens, these seemed well fed and well taken care of which made me happy. You can walk around to get to the different types of apples, but they also did have a hay ride to bring you to a more central location. They have a good variety of apples, and for an additional cost, you can also pick peaches, pears, nectarines, and maybe some other fruits. I filled my 1/4 peck bag with about 8 apples, the bag was about 6 in x 8 in x 4 in. The apples were delicious, very few had pests which were noticeable at the time of picking, but most of them were good. I didn't get a chance to go in but I did peek my head into their store, which they do sell apples, apple products, and other goods. One thing I noticed that has improved is their parking. They had more space, but also someone directing traffic to parking spots. I would recommend this spot for anyone looking for a good fall activity.

I now take my boys here every year. And I plan on continuing the tradition with them. Fond memories of penny candy, and apple dumplings with vanilla ice cream. And the merry -go-round and swings and those super fast and hot slides rofl. The beauty of the orchard and of course the tasty apples! They have their own cheese and fresh baked goods including different sized trays of their always good apple pie dumplings that you can buy to go or you can go to the building outside for refreshments and sit at the picnic tables. But be warned, the yellow jackets are everywhere. They don't tend to sting unless they have been irritated but it's hard to sit still when they are crawling on your foot or drink. Though I don't mind sharing, this isn't what I had in mind. But that's nature. You can always escape to your car to finish your refreshment s and head back out to check out their gift shop or antiques area! It's also a beautiful walk on the road at the orchard as well with gorgeous views of sunset and apple trees just before closing. They of course have many events for the public like book fairs, and festivals of all kinds so it's wise to follow their Facebook page! Brookfield orchard has been a family owned and operated business since 1918! I hope they continue to get the support they need to stay open.
