We hosted our company holiday party at Misto's Bar and Restaurant, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. The food was excellent, the bartender and kitchen staff were attentive, friendly, and on point all night, and the overall atmosphere was perfect for celebrating as a team. We even had a DJ, and Misto's was a great space for both dining and dancing without feeling cramped or rushed. A special thank-you to Christian, the manager, who truly went above and beyond to make this a memorable and special first company holiday party for us. Went to this spot on a Friday night with a family member. The place was lively, lots of people laughing, enjoying their food and drinks. The weather was great, so you could choose to sit inside or out; we chose indoors. Even though our waitress was busy, she was still attentive and friendly. We had sangria, which was really good, and the $$ Italian dishes we ordered hit the spot. The restaurant itself had a nice vibe, clean, nicely decorated, and had a good energy. Adorable cozy light up front entrance, host/waiter greeted us by the front door and seated us right away. We tried the brussel sprouts (can't remember the name on the menu) aw man it was delicious! It had so much flavor and the perfect amount of crunch without it tasting burnt. We also had the baked clams, sadly that had zero flavor. I even dipped it into the sauce and yeah that didn't help much at all. I've had better. Now the GNOCCHI was interesting since it was in red sauce rather than the typical pesto cheesy sauce. I'm not too sure if it goes well together? I had a few pieces and the texture was great but I felt like I needed that cheesy flavor? Might just be my taste buds searching for something similar. Which btw my portion was half of the dish. Our waiter was nice enough to split the dish into 2 portions. That was def appreciated as many don't do that. Dude.. the creme brûlée?! Went here for a celebratory birthday dinner with my son. We ordered a strawberry and an expresso martini. Neither of us enjoyed our martinis. My strawberry martini seemed too heavy. I expected it to be light similar to the cucumber martini but it was heavy syrup. My son said his expresso martini was too bitter. He said he preferred his with Bailey's. We had caprese salad and cheesesteak rolls for appetizer. My son loved his salad but my cheesesteak rolls were not worth $15. They were fried hard and the steak tasted old. For entree, my son ordered pasta with chicken and prosciutto which he said was good. I ordered skirt steak with fries. The fries were delicious but the steak was not well seasoned and I didn't enjoy it. I packed it up to take home and will sauté some onions and peppers to put on top. Not sure I would go back even though I enjoyed the ambiance and the decor and the people were extremely nice. If I do go back I will order something different. read more

Met one of my best friends Richie and his lovely wife Gina here last night at their favorite neighborhood spot .Such a cozy Italian bistro that reminds me of a place in NYC. We all ordered apps. Eggplant , zucchini sticks. Arancini balls. Brussel sprouts. Wow each one better than the next. Each were so fresh with all the best ingredients. I ordered the last stuffed pork chop, my wife ordered salmon Buddy had the stuffed chicken. His wife had the Gorgonzola risotto , My dish was simply amazing cooked at the right temp and stuffed so good. I asked for side of pasta with marinara. Omg I loved the sauce it was so fresh and enjoyable. Wife loved the salmon very nice grill marks on it and still juicy inside. Stuffed chicken was nice size and he enjoyed every drop Risotto was super creamy and cheesy. We all ordered desserts and they all were better than the next. Waitstaff are awesome. From the moment we walked in the place was very welcoming. Friendly staff greeted us. The place was nicely decorated pretty festive. We were looking forward to coming here after a long day at the zoo. We had a party of 10 (only 5 adults). They were very accomodating when it came to pushing our reservation back a few minutes since we took longer than expected at the zoo and when we got there our table was ready to go. This is were any positives end. We ordered 3 appetizers (wings, steak eggrolls and calamari) and a pizza for the kids to share to come out first.. and it took well over an hour just for the appetizers and pizza to come out, we had to ask for a basket of bread because everyone was starving. The calarmari was ok, the wings were good but the worst was the steak eggrolls, the waitress explained that it was one roll cut in half so we ordered 2 and all i can say is that paying 12 dollars for what is smaller than a fast food chinese eggroll cut in half was ridiculous (Though in looking at some of the images here it may be that they only brought out one serving and charged us for 2 because we only got one plate with 4 halfs of eggrolls...figures). Then we waited over another hour for the main dishes to come out (during which time the waitress never stopped by to ask about drinks or anything and we had to flag her down for updates). The food was underwhelming, they made one of the pasta dishes with the wrong sauce and when they corrected it (which took like 3 min to bring out a new dish when we waited over an hour for the original), i imagine they used leftover pasta because it wasnt even a full serving and left that person starving still. All in all it took us about 3 hours to dine there and the kids who had eaten 2 hrs earlier were starting to get hungry again and we had to stop on the way home to get them dessert. We love this restaurant. We had a repass here last month and it could not have been smoother. The food was absolutely delicious - chicken Marsala, pastas, Brussel sprouts, meatballs and the salad! Chris the manager, the bartender and the entire staff went out of their way and were very gracious and accommodating! The restaurant is in a nice neighborhood of the Bronx I would say the Williams Bridge area next to the highway they have outside seating and indoor seating. I love the fact that they do not rush you to leave and the food taste like genuine, authentic Italian cuisine, the chef personally brought out my food, and I loved all of it, as well as my mother, the bartender/server AJ was amazing. He was very kind and remembered what it is that we wanted. We also has sangrias, but those were finished by the time I wrote this so I couldn't post those guys lol. It's hard to find good sit down options near Jacobi and I'm glad to find one so close by. The restaurant is quaint and the string of lights at night time makes it very romantic. I came here with a friend after work to unwind around 8pm. Parking is easy to find in the residential area nearby and the restaurant has parking behind as well. The bar was full and there were two other tables seated so pretty well for a random weeknight. Service was a bit slow since there was only 1 server for the bar and the tables and it took some hand waving to put our order on and to get refills of drinks throughout the dinner. We ordered the appetizer of escargot which was underwhelming. The breading on top was crispy and good to dip in the sauce but the actual snails were an odd texture that you get when it's canned. It was okay as a dish but probably wouldn't get it again. The mushroom risotto on the otherhand was delish. It was packed with flavour, well seasoned. The texture of the rice wasn't too soft which I loved. We got various glasses of red wine that night and all were pretty good. The selection was large enough for us to enjoy picking a few to try. Next time we'll try the cocktails since they looked pretty good. Overall it's a nice comfy place to try and will be going back to try more items. read more

I ride my bike past the restaurant every day and every day I'd remind myself to check the place out. Well, last Thursday I did just that. On the way home from work I decided to have dinner at Misto. The restaurant itself has a warm/cozy feeling with the string lights and small dining area. I ordered the honey truffle brussels sprouts to start, and the steak w/roasted potatoes and steamed veggies as my entree. The bartender modified a cocktail for me, which I greatly appreciated. The brussels sprouts were outstanding! It was an appetizer that was probably meant for 2, maybe 3 people, but I ate the entire dish. The steak was cooked exactly how I ordered it, and flavored well. (It was even better the next day, as I had leftovers). I went back with two friends on Saturday night. We ordered the calamari to start. Our entrees were: stuffed pork chop, chicken cutlet parm, and the steak. The calamari was bland. It wasn't crispy, and was meh. I enjoyed the stuffed pork chop, but my friends were not impressed with their entrees. My one friend and I ordered red sangria, which we enjoyed. My other, a glass of cabernet, which was not good. He opted for the Malbec, which also was not very good. Saturday was not our night. My one critique is that Misto should have a better selection of wine, especially wine offered by the glass. The markup price for the bottled wine was very high (we generally order bottles but did not because of the high price). OVERALL, I would go back. read more

Went in on a Wednesday night, not many people in the restaurant. We were sat quickly and since it seemed slow they only had one waiter for the whole place. Waiter was pleasant. I went with my husband, he got his beer right away but waiter forgot my white wine. After waiting for about 10 minutes after he got my husband his drink i asked about my wine and he said he forgot. My husband's beer glass had lipstick stains as it was not cleaned properly. The bartender seemed way to occupied by the 3 people seating at the bar. We got baked clams as appetizers and the breading was dry and a little burned. We ate it with no complaints as we don't want to be difficult. Our entrees were good which is why I gave the 3 stars. Hidden Gem in the Bronx. Went for date night . Inside gives a modern Pub vibe. I like it . Looks clean from what I can tell . Service was cool. The service is good and our waitress works very hard, comes to our table to ask how we are doing and refills our water. The appetizer arancini is a chef's specialty. You have to try it. It's crunchy outside and soft as a pillow inside. The martini was sweet and strong. I could have just let these 2 items coming for the rest of the night. The clam fettuccine and shrimp scampi were tasty and okay. It's a lot of serving though and you could see other tables having to grab a bag by the end of the meal. Let me say, it's a place for a group to hang out. I don't know about romantic dinners. You have to talk at the top of your lungs to get heard. We tried the crème brûlée and that was disappointing. First bite I thought I should have ordered something else. The sugar on top were unevenly caramel ones and it was too thick. Some got burnt and some parts were not caramelized at all as you can still eat the grain of sugar. I would come back but not on a Friday night. Stick with the drink and the tapas. My husband and I came across this restaurant while scrolling on groupon looking for something new. We came across Misto Restaurant and I am so happy we did! The venue, aura and staff is warm and welcoming. The food was great! It's not your typical spot, our entrees were very flavorful and they had a large selection on cocktails and wine. There was a lot of thought put into the entrees because everything was unique and tasty. A gem in the bronx that is a MUST! My husband and I are already planning our next visit - we learned about a new Brunch menu coming out so I'm very excited. Stumbled upon this gem randomly, I always use yelp as a reference to just finding a good restaurant to eat, being that we are from jersey I found Misto randomly, and I could not be happier to say we WILL BE BACK! We started with the Arancini, and I must say, might be the best I have ever had, the Brussels sprout appetizer just sensory overload, clams casino cooked to perfection in a decadent lemon butter sauce that leaves you wanting more. Ended with the chicken martini which added fireworks to our evening! recommended by our server Alfred ( the best delight of the night, amazing service and genuine care for our experience.. love you Alfred!) They should have more servers, especially on a Friday evening. The ambiance would have been perfect if the elevator music volume was lower. I like Frank Sinatra, but not at level 10. The food was really well presented, but the grilled chicken cesar salad was abysmal. I'd come back to give it another opportunity. They almost lost me with the food prep time. It took quite long to finally get our food. The drinks were decent tasting. The searing was also a bit tight for someone as tall as me ((wink wink)). Overall, it wasn't bad. I was taken to Misto for the first time for their Sunday Dinner special and it was so worth it. They start you off with a delicious salad (greens, red onions, multi colored tomatoes, diced cucumbers, with a nice vinaigrette). Then we had penne a la vodka with chicken and pasta with sausage, meatballs, pork in Misto red sauce. Both were big portions ( had to pack a to-go tray). We surely love leftovers. Lastly, the meal was topped of with dessert and coffee. The cannoli was so fresh and so delicious. All of this for $29.95 per person. This was really worth it. My girlfriend and I came here a couple weeks ago and I feel compelled to share this gem in Pelham Gardens in the Bronx. The interior was quaint and welcoming with a bar in back; the staff vibe was great and chill - exactly what we needed on a Friday night. It was an unusually warm Spring evening so we decided to sit outside on the enchanting front patio that had several other tables comfortably spaced out. We started with a couple of tasty specialty drinks - mine was an Apersol Spritzer; hers was a Martini. We ordered a few apps: Honey Truffle Sprouts, the Risotto Arancini and the Misto Salad. All were delicious. I was told that the risotto balls were Chef's famous creation - and they did not disappoint! It was so good, I can still taste it. We also scarfed down the truffle sprouts, too - a nice portion to share. The salad with heirloom tomatoes was refreshing -- gotta get the greens in ;). Entrees were Creamy Pesto Ravioli and the Buttermilk Grilled Pizza. Unbelievably tasty ravs! And if you're a pizza snob, you'll need to try the pizza! We had such a fun time there. The menu very restricted brunch allows no substitution or adjustments. The food: home fries not home fries it is more like roasted potatoes, seems like everything was frozen. The fruit that is served along with your food was stale. This restaurant definitely needs to update their food quality and options for those with different diets and we were definitely overcharged.
