I have given this place excellent reviews in the past. But unfortunately, I was very disappointed yesterday. My friend and I went for lunch as we do whenever we shop at Arthur Ave. We ordered one appetizer, one entre and a carafe of wine and our bill came to $168.00. The Eggplant rollatini appetizer was $25 and the small piece of salmon with vegetables was $35. Wine $40. A 20% tip was automatically added to our check, and the tip was computed on the total including tax. What restaurant adds 20% tip on a table for 2??? Service was poor and I had to go into the main restaurant twice to ask for red pepper and cheese and eventually the check. There was one other table of 2 when we got there which left before we finished and another table of 2 came in while we were still eating. It wasn't crowded. My friend ordered a shot of lemoncello and I asked for a small side of pasta to go with our entre, we were charged $12 each for these items. I eat out often and know that everything has become very expensive BUT $168.00 for one app and one entre and wine??? If we ordered 2 apps and 2 entrees the bill would have been $230-$250 We usually get 2 limoncellos comped after dinner. I'm not looking for anything free but good regular customers should be treated better than this. I will say that the food is excellent and we enjoyed it. I am offering these comments as constructive criticism to Moishe. He did refund the $12 for limoncello when I told him I was disappointed.

Although my tummy was satisfied my tastebuds craved dessert. In comes the Coconut Pana Cotta. Paradise in a small half coconut dish. Even when I ordered two entrees, the waiter recommended we order one and split it (I said no because there's no harm in a to go container). When I received the food, each entree was only the size of a regular take out container. This made me wonder if maybe he thought we weren't financially worth the effort. THEN he was not the one to serve us our food or even give us our check. THE WAITER DESERTED OUR TABLE. It was only the Latino staff that served me and apologized. Honestly? Yesterday, we were a bit pressed for time, so we ordered the lamb chops, skirt steak, and, of course, a nice bottle of wine. Everything was fantastic. The lamb chops were phenomenal, easily among the best I've had at any restaurant. They were incredibly flavorful, tender, and cooked to perfection. I'm usually not someone who enjoys eating the fat on meat, but the fat on these chops was rendered so beautifully that I found myself eating every bite. There wasn't a single chewy or unpleasant piece. I normally order the porterhouse or ribeye, but the skirt steak was an excellent choice when I wanted something leaner and quicker to enjoy without sacrificing flavor. The fried potato salad is another standout. It's a unique side that's absolutely worth ordering. And then there's the peppercorn sauce served with the lamb chops. It's a total mic drop. I honestly can't put into words how good it is. I found myself dipping everything in it (even my fingers ). It's that delicious!
