Unfortunately idk what happened, but I just got a take out file Mignon was stinky and looking like wet cardboard, dissolving in the mouth, tasting like liver, we have been there in February and everything was great, idk if the quality of taking out is worst than eating inside, I am very disappointed, cuz I got one one most expensive plates and came with this horrible smell, also got a desert on the menu shows with ice cream, I just received the apple pie. Has some new staff there so idk what possibly happened with this place, very sad and frustrated cuz I live in Manhattan and went all the way to get the food there. Service was good - we had 10 people over and though it was chaotic. The server was so nice. The food was good/ok. My pesto sandwich was yummy and everyone enjoyed their steaks. It just wasn't out of this world but okay. I wish the sandwich was more toasted. The drinks were okay. I ordered martini cherry flavored and it tasted medicinal but maybe that was my fault. I go to this place all the time usually just for drinks -- which are always great & bartenders super friendly. But if ur looking for a St. Patrick's day spot, def check it out! A grand and classic neighborhood Irish restaurant with a genuine warm feel. I traditionally sit at the bar, but the upper seating area has a fireplace that gives you a cozy feel on cold winter nights. The bartenders are friendly and attentive to your needs. I am sold on their burgers which can be ordered with a variety of toppings, included or lettuce, tomato and steak fries. A nice pint of Guiness makes you feel proud to a part of this community. As of now we try and make this a weekly stop. At some point I'll branch out and explore other items from their menu. Hours are 12noon to 4am daily. read more

This place doesn't get enough love. For the price, the steak can't be beat. I've gotten the ribeye several times and it was cooked to perfection... with perfectly rendered and charred gristle. Now don't come expecting a big ol' massive Old Homestead ribeye... it's not exactly thin but also not massive. Kinda perfect if you ask me. The fried shrimp app deserves to be an entre. The steak sandwich is great if you like caramelized onions- i prefer onions a little less cooked down. I have yet to try their irish staples, but plan to. Was here for a reunion and found this to be a very nice spot with a lot of potential. We were a group of 30 and they gave us a spot up front at the bar. It was tight, then they started karaoke, which seemed odd. I had a kettel one with soda and it was a kettel one with soda. I thought we had a private room, but we didn't. The bar is well stocked, the atmosphere was like a fun little neighborhood pub. Soft lighting, lots of wood, and very cozy. I only saw the bar menu and am still not sure why it is called a steak house. read more

This place has become goto. It's reasonably priced, the food is better than a lot of posh NYC steakhouses I've tried, the people are great as is the service, and they keep their draft beer flowing and cleaned so the taste is excellent. Edit: reheated the steak and it was decent. Adding a star Not the worst but unfortunately the food didn't live up to expectations. Tomato soup- tasted like it was from a can Caesar salad- way too much dressing and it tasted like Thousand Island dressing Filet mignon steak- over cooked and tasteless. Medium well steak was very well done. Medium steak was medium rare in the middle and well done everywhere else. This is after being cooked butterfly. Drenched it with steak sauce. One word Delicious! I am writing this 24 hours after eating there thinking I could eat the chicken curry again. To bad they don't deliver to Manhattan. We went for lunch and the staff were very mindful of social distancing and we felt comfortable with the dining arrangements. My friends had the Guinness Stew. We shared a plate of chips. Yes real chips to dunk into the sauces. We will definitely be going back. The server was wonderful. We had our Irish coffee's to go so she made a fresh pot to make sure it would be hot enough for our trip back to our friends. I can think of nothing to complain about. I went with a group for Riverdale Restaurant Week and all of us were very happy with our meals. The smoked salmon appetizer was plentiful and tasty, the baked haddock was moist and the accompanying vegetables were fresh, and the desserts, an apple tart and a rice pudding, were delicious! I've never, ever been disappointed by the shell stake, and it's always cooked to perfection - just the right amount of sear on the outside and tender as hell on the inside. This place is wonderfully Irish. As you enter you can either hitch it to the right for the bar or to the left for the formal dining area. Unfortunately we were seated in a musty basement, so we weren't able to enjoy the decor! The menu is somewhat what you're expect for a bar and grill, if limited. So we split salmon and steak. The steak was pretty awful if I'm honest. It was congealed with fat. The meat was not at all flavored. The salad that was served on the side was a bit overly most and tasted a if it was somewhat old. Comfortable and cozy old school Irish restaurant - been in riverdale forever according to the server. My first time in Riverdale after our day at the zoo. While looking over the menu asking for traditional Irish food, the server recommended their steak and seafood dishes. I had never been to an Irish steakhouse and the friendly server told me this was a very Irish populated area with an Irish butcher, gift shops and here- an Irish steakhouse, interesting... So I ordered the steak, which came as a good and hearty, filling meal with sides of a soup or salad, choice of carb and mixed vegetables. I am very particular with my steaks and potatoes; I like my steak melt in your mouth tender and bursting w flavor, and my potatoes whipped, fluffy and probably with way too much creamy butter. I thought the Potatoes and mixed vegetables were a little dry, and steak while good with blue cheese on top was not as tender juicy and flavorful as I love my steaks. Being so particular I think I will stick to true typical Irish food in an Irish restaurant next time. The apple pie with ice cream was good, and so was the Shiraz and Guinness. The server was very nice, friendly, happy to seat us in a booth with an outlet so I could charge my phone and then chatting about the Irish area and their own restaurant. I went into Riverdale steak house. Wednesday, Oct 4th, 2023, first time ever, I ordered hot wings and pitatoe skins. The total was $ 25.06, so I gave the waitress $ 25.10 and didn't receive my change [ the principle, but I let it go]. I recieved my food I left got home started eating so I ate one wing [ said to myself this wing taste salty] ate another wings so I couldn't eat those wings they're very salty and skin was rough, so I put them back in it's container closed them up. Grab potato skin as I got to half of potato. My stomach felt I needed to vomit as I got up to get a bag. I vomited what I ate. It was horrible for my first time there left my lips burning from the salt.I called and asked for manager same girl that took my order girl answered phone and stated manager wasn't there she asked can I help I explained she wasn't interested at all got off phone. Called back and asked to speak to whobever in charge, gentleman came on phone I explained to him he was very apologetic, he stated to me called tomorrow the owner Aileen will be in so Thursday afternoon I called owner wasn't there called Friday owner wasn't there the lady asked me to give her my number and name and that the owner will call me as of Sunday night 10:57 pm I haven't recieved any call from owner. If something like this happens with food that came from your restaurant, a call would've been nice, very distasteful as an owner. Shame on you. read more

These guys are doing a terrific job under such tuff conditions. Food is great and service is friendly and timely. You cannot beat the pricing, very reasonable. Was a lot busier than I'd imagined it would be. Had a great live act that night, simple acoustic entertainment playing Irish folk music with the perfect accompaniment, a few pints of Guinness and a juicy rib-eye steak. Before have been transferred to Miami for the last 4 years ,me and my wife have dined in this restaurant several times ,and I have to say we did enjoyed the cozy candle light dinner together with a good steak and good glass of wine and fine services. Today we got in at 3:30pm something like late lunch early dinner ,we were the only table in the dining room although I got water refill at same time of the check after been asking for it twice .My wife had a burger it was fine,I had a smoke salmon as an appetizer it was ok ,now I know in Ireland the smoke salmon is served with COLD brown bread! , I was in the mood for a steak so I did order one ,MR ,It came MW , fatty and tough! when the waitress decided to came by I told her I was not happy about the steak for the reasons I mention above, as a response she asked me if I want a to go bag,.welI I answer negative and after an apple pie and a glass of water that never came ,I asked for the check ,I was charged for the steak, again I mentioned the waitress ,look that wasn't what I expected and ordered for 32 dollars, over done and fatty STEAK , can I speak with manager? I let the chef know she answered.
