I ordered a Premium floral arrangement and received a Standard one…read more This seems to be a common occurance when ordering flowers for gift delivery. I always ask the recipient to send me a photo. The arrangement sent, in addiiton to it be a scaled down version of what I ordered, didn't look anything like what I ordered. Instead of roses and mini-carnations, they sent a bouquet of daisys. Pictures below. I ordered by phone and made a special point that I expected the arrangement to be of Premium value and close to what I ordered. They assured me no problem. When I saw what was sent I called, asked for the owner, and asked for a partial reimbursement at the very least to the Standard pricing. After being "talked over" by the owner, he finally begrudgingly agreed. He claimed it was "fair and equal value". I can assure you it wasn't even close. Beware!

Unfortunately, none of the electronic means of delivering a refund worked, so he dropped off cash, which I do greatly appreciate. If you don't know your exact numbers when ordering, I recommend ordering less than you might need and increasing later. I did the opposite, and it cost me an inordinate amount of my time to try to get my money back. 9/20/25 Unfortunately, although the chair delivery was on time and the chairs were fine, it's been over a month and he has still not sent us a refund as an adjustment for having taken fewer chairs than initially paid for. He doesn't dispute that he owes us the money, he just hasn't taken any action to issue the refund.

Jerry Sibal was one of 8 florists that my venue required we use for wedding flowers. I e-mailed them to request a meeting to formulate a proposal, and they were very professional, responsive, and seemed motivated. I gave them my budget of a flexible 5k, which is low for NYC, and we arranged to meet. I met with a salesperson from the office, and we talked about what I wanted in terms of flowers. The salesperson flat out told me that their average wedding flower budget is around 10k, and made it seem like I was lucky to be able to work with them, and that they were doing me a favor by working within my 5k budget. She constantly referred to Jerry as an artist. I understand that it is NYC, and there are some fancy people, and high end floral artists, and all that crap, and that's fine. But if you don't want to do simple, seasonal arrangements for 5k, then don't even waste my time by meeting with me. Just say upfront that you have a 10k minimum like Jes Gordon, and don't be condescending to me. We left off with the salesperson promising me a proposal within a week. I said no rush, I just needed it by the end of the year. Well, we met in November, and 2 months later I received one excuse that their computer system was down, and no proposal. It was a no-brainer to use another florist. I honestly don't know how these companies stay in business.

We picked out all the flowers we wanted and how we wanted the bouquets. The day of the wedding we walked into the venue and the most hideous bouquets for the girls where sitting there waiting for the brides maid and flower girls. The owner said she decided to change the bouquet for us she thought it looked prettier. You be the judge. I left a bad review on Yelp, the owner called and wanted the bad review removed. We wouldn't remove it. I recently looked on yelp to see their reviews, and my review was take off. I felted compelled to put a review back on because I want all brides to be aware of this flower shop.

The flowers I was given were nice but I didn't feel like it was worth $50, I mean, I'm not a florist and don't know the value of each flower but I've purchased flowers here before and today's $50 bouquet looks more like a $25 bouquet I bought here a few months back. The shop's refrigerator wasn't stocked with tons of flowers like many other florists I been to in the past. There were carnations to the left of me when I walked in, some lilies on the counter and some hydrangeas on the floor behind the counter but I didn't notice any roses. Would I shop here again? Maybe ... if I'm in a pinch but I don't think I'll be ordering $50 bouquets again from here. I may not shop here anytime soon but I'm wishing the Village Flower Shoppe continued success in 2021!

A few weeks before the wedding, we had a total meltdown over the budget and Christine jumped into action. She calmed us down, helped us understand what happened, and never once made us feel like we were being unreasonable (though, we probably would have deserved it). For our wedding day, we had Tara as our wedding coordinator and we absolutely adored her. She checked in a few days before the wedding and the morning of to see how I was doing and even went out of her way to bring me a copy of the New York Times so we could photograph our wedding announcement. She did a really good job of reminding us not to worry about the small details and just to go with the flow of the day. We had comments from our family and wedding guests that "the people running our event" did a really good job because the day flowed perfectly. I really appreciated her calm and positive energy throughout the day. I have no idea whether anything went wrong on our wedding day because she literally took care of everything. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, we had many vendors tell us, completely unsolicited, that Christine, Tara and the EAP team are the best in the business in NYC. It's one thing for brides to love their wedding planners, but I think that the vendors opinions speak volumes since they see the "behind the scenes" truth. Having the EAP team help you plan your wedding is certainly one of the best decisions any couple can make, no matter where they are in the wedding planning process.
