We agreed on a very specific job - then they conducted work TOTALLY outside of the agreement then charge you for it. They absolutely violate any contract and agreement. When we brought up the agreement and specs of the original work - they threatened, harassed, cursed, and acted totally unprofessionally. Unfortunately for them - they did this over email so we have a paper trail with their unprofessionalism. (Photos to come later). Ultimately they could not argue against their original agreement, and we did not pay for the work that was not agreed upon. BUT then that's when the retaliation began (note the harassment I detailed above and the job they left undone afterward)... 2. They do not show up on the schedule date or time. They have really poor communication skills, and arrived at a random date and time that worked for them - again - outside of what was agreed upon. 3. The workmanship was terrible - the fences they installed went outside our property line, cracked and broken portions, and they left the job incomplete and left all of their mess in our driveway that we then had to clean up ourselves (I'm talking wood, concrete, dust, nails, just all their mess and materials). 4. We have alerted this company to our local realtor community - and they have all agreed they will not be working with them again. I do not see them lasting much longer in business. Repeat - this place is a scam - be very careful when dealing with them - and please find another company with ethical practices, better reviews, and a better reputation.

This review is just our experience. Like I said, from the beginning we had issues and the company was not helpful. The concrete we added to the posts wasn't a problem for my husband because we had no choice and unfortunately we had to do that not long after install. I would not recommend them for building a home... I'm sure for a garage or a barn they would be…read morefine. I'm giving them 3 stars mainly because Kennedy was awesome! But the end result of my home is not what I expected. First, they convinced me to move the location of the house, they said it would save me a lot of money in excavation, so I trusted them and reluctantly agreed but that meant I lost the view I wanted from my back porch. That view was THE reason I bought that land to build on! But the excavation ended up being the same cost they originally quoted me... it didn't save me any money at all! There was no communication about that until after the excavation was done and I asked about it. When the house was done, it didn't pass inspection because they didn't use tempered glass above my bathtub and a few other silly little things that the codes people were being too picky about. But the builder should've known the codes for glass above a bathtub. Their solution was to send me a link to where I could buy a peel and stick film to put on my bathroom window. I told them I didn't think I should be responsible for paying for that, or trying to apply it myself! They ended up getting it and putting it on for me...BUT it bubbled and looks warped when I look out that window. It's my new home, it should have been fixed the right way but now I'm left to deal with that. Also, my concrete floors are awful, I pointed out a big spot by the front door that was worn down and really rough, my builder said not to worry about that because I wouldn't see it when they were done. Well, it's still there, exactly like it was when I pointed it out. They were supposed to clean the floors after drywall and seal them again. But over 6 months later, I'm STILL scraping drywall mud off my floors! They never sealed them again, but they left 2 huge full containers of seal (along with a lot of other trash) on my porch when they were done. My floors in my home are way worse than most garage floors, the expansion joints are wide open for dirt to fall in to and it doesn't look like the floors are sealed at all. I've seen many homes with concrete floors that are sealed (not stained, just sealed) and they are beautiful. That's what I was expecting, that's not what I got! I know this was just another "job" to them, but this is my home. It took literally EVERYTHING I had to build it, and I trusted the Barn Store to build it. I didn't want to write this kind of review, I was hoping to have a 5 star experience but sadly that is not the case.

The granite steps finish it off. We couldn't be happier. As a bonus - the guys showed up on time, the job site was clean and the guys were friendly. I highly recommend Lakeside Masonry and Remodeling. They remodeled our master bath 2 years ago and recently replaced a back door. Both the masonry and carpentry divisions were great to work with.
