Mr. Steven Mitchell, My name is Raymond Scully. I was accosted in your store unlike anything I've ever experienced before. I felt assaulted, discriminated against, scared, and certainly insulted. I had been speaking with Steven, a sales rep at Mitchell VW, in Canton, off and on for nearly 2 weeks regarding purchasing a certified pre-owned Jetta sport wagon. Yesterday we spoke and he gave me an OTD price on one of them. I countered with a cash offer and would have bought it at that price over the phone. He declined, asked for a deposit, and asked what my plan moving forward was. I said I still wanted to drive it. I told him that I probably couldn't come in until Wed. I was lucky enough however, to borrow a car and showed up unannounced this afternoon at 4:40 pm. It was raining. I had parked on the end of the line of VW's along the wall slightly in the drive area but made sure there was room for any vehicle to get by. It was raining, I had not been on the lot before and I actually have a physical disability so considering the car that I came to buy was also parked near by, I parked there and walked in. I am sorry to have blocked access if I did. I looked around the showroom. No one was there. I did hear two voices seemingly coming from separate offices. I looked around some more, sat down and read an entire brochure, then stood back up and noticed an empty reception desk. I walked over to it and stood there quietly for 2 more minutes. After 9 nearly 10 minutes, ( I double checked the time). I was approached by a man claiming to be the manager. I don't have his name. I remarked on the wait, he got me a rep because Steven wasn't there. The rep and I were sitting and talking. He was being great. I was ready to drive the car and buy it if it was as advertised. I expected both to happen today. While my new rep was getting the keys and copying my DL I walked around looking for the other man to ask about how he would compensate the sales reps considering that I had been dealing with Steven and he wasn't there. I never found him or got to discuss that. When I pass by the GSM's (Aaron) office he shouted "can I help you" I said "no thanks I'm with him" referring to my rep that was in his office. He said "oh are you the one that parked in the middle of the driveway?" I said something like Yeah I probably did, sorry. he said "how bout moving it" I said "absolutely" then I did just that in the rain. I took a picture because it really wasn't in anyone's way. I re-entered the showroom and Aaron was there alone. My rep was getting the car ready with a plate etc. I showed your GSM Aaron this pic and asked if that was what he was talking about. He said your a "smart-ass aren't you" I said something like what are you talking about? , why are you acting like that? he said "I don't like your attitude, I don't like your demeanor and I don't like your truthfulness" Then he said "GET THE FUCK OUT!!" I was floored. I started to leave then I realized that they had my DL and I was now parked on the other side, so I started back, saw my rep got my licence, told him that Aaron told me to "GET THE FUCK OUT!!" before I could finish Aaron was repeating but louder "GET THE FUCK OUT" I thought he was going to hit me I was scared and I left as quickly as I could. As I said in our phone call, I must do something. This is unprecedented. My first reaction is to contact all local media and picket outside your business at rush hour with your own GSM's quote on the biggest sign that I can hold. Something needs to be done. As i write this I am shaking with emotion. I was truly planning on buying a car from you today. Now I'm truly considering legal action in addition to the actions mentioned above. I'm forced to bring this to Yelp as my numerous calls and emails have not been taken seriously by the staff at Mitchell... In October of 2020, I was looking to sell my GLI that I had purchased from Mitchell. After calling to see what they might offer for a buy-out and receiving an astronomically low offer ($3k lower than what surrounding Volkswagen dealerships were offering to be exact), I said no thank you, and asked to be removed from any and all forms of communication from Mitchell. Within hours, I received a call from Jeremy Pratt apologizing, and asking why I wished to no longer receive contact; I advised that the offer was simply distasteful, and as a repeat customer, such an insulting offer did not sit well. I asked him that I be removed from any and all contact, and selected the "unsubscribe" option in the email communications I received. Since then, I have received numerous letters in the mail, as well as numerous emails from different staff members. I have repeatedly clicked "unsubscribe," repeatedly called in and asked that my contact information be removed, and repeatedly spoken to Jeremy requesting that I be removed. If you're looking to get absolutely hosed on your trade-in (or the sale of your car) - go Mitchell! Or if you're looking to get trolled and repeatedly harassed - go Mitchell! I have been having my 2013 Eos serviced here. I took advantage of their tire special for October. I asked for four new tires and a four wheel alignment. Recently moved to the area and was hoping to find the same service I'd been accustomed to receiving from VW dealers. I brought my car in for a specific front end noise, asked them to diagnose it and ket me know. They diagnosed it, said it was part "x" and I asked them to fix it. They replaced it. After paying 600 bucks, I pull out of the lot and it's making the same friggin noise. I called them 10 minutes later (they had already closed), let them know and I got the following explanation. We noticed part "x" needed to be replaced - lots of movement. That's great, but it doesn't solve the problem I initially brought my car in for. They asked me to drop it off for another day so they could look at it again. At the end of the day they couldn't find a problem. So I am 600 bucks in the hole. They offered nothing. no credit, no "let's take another look" - nothing. I left pissed off, 600 bucks poorer and with a car making the same damn noise. I brought it to a local repair shop. problem solved. so maybe they can sell a car (but not a diesel) maybe they can change the oil, but they certainly can't offer any noteworthy customer service, and i wouldn't trust any diagnosis without a second opinion. Personally, I wouldn't let a customer pay me money for something I didn't do. Not sure that's really a good business practice. bottom line: I came with a problem, I left with a problem, and still paid 600 bucks. so disappointed. read more

BUYER BEWARE OF THIS DEALER!! Three years ago we purchased a "certified" used Passat from them and were told that the car was never titled and was a loaner and demo for their dealer ship. What they did not tell us was that this car had been in an accident! We found out when we recently went to trade the Passat and our trade value was reduced by $5000. due to the accident. We have all of the documentation including a police report that shows the accident date just prior to the sale to us. I was incredibly unhappy with the service provided here. I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change at 10:15a. At 2:30p I called to check and I was told the car would be ready around 3:30p. How could it take more than 5 hours to get an oil change done?? I've been to two other Volkswagen dealerships in CT and one in MA and the service is far superior. In addition to this, I sat in their waiting room (sales floor) and listened to a group of employees have an entirely inappropriate conversation to the likes of which I will not repeat. What I will say is that it was inappropriate for ANY professional environment. I would not recommend this service center to anyone. read more

Terrible. Go almost anywhere else. We dropped the car off on a busy Saturday, with the full understanding that it would take a few days to get looked at. We were told "we'll have it back to you by the end of the week" and we said we'd be back on Friday and took the day off from work to make the trip. We also pre-approved for an hour of work. It took them two hours "driving around" to get the error (which they should have gotten from the onboard computer.) Then they apparently didn't do anything with the car again until Friday morning. Which isn't getting it done by the end of the week -- it's starting it it at the end of the week. So they were slow, unresponsive, took a long time to diagnose a problem that was *already known*, didn't start the work until they said it would be done. I have driven a VW for decades and used many many garages around the region. This was the only time I'd wanted to throw something at the mechanic. FOLLOW UP: They called my husband less than 24 hours after I put up this review to complain to him about the review. They did apologize for the lack of communication, but that does no good now. read more

No pressure, prices and options presented well and George did a great job going over all of the cars features. Monday mornings are tough place for a car dealer service department due to how busy things are. I walked in before 9 A.M. with no appointment and announced that I hit something in the road and needed someone to repair my right front tire. Jamie the Service writer asked me if it was for my 2012 or 2013 VW and knew my name without me having to say it. Wow, I was impressed with her... She was so professional, friendly, and polite. And no appointment? Not a problem! She had me taken care of and on the way in no time.... And wouldn't you know it. The salesman that sold me the car over a year and a half ago noticed me in the customer lounge and remembered my name and asked if he could help in any way.... These folks are outstanding.... Buyer Beware Bought a CPO 2011 Golf. Car was not detailed. Windows were disgusting. Hair everywhere. Cleaned windshield to discover scratches. Obviously why it wasn't cleaned. The day of delivery the salesman was trying to clean up the windows since the detail shop didn't do its job. Missing trim on vent. Cut in door panel. I am not sure what constitutes a CPO car but obviously the standards aren't very high. Discovered the traction control button doesn't work and a Bent rim. Mitchell took the car for 4 days and replaced the windshield and traction control button. Bent rim was balanced and door panel was made worse. Dealers slogan is Your road to total satisfaction. Yeah not so much. read more

I have purchased several vehicles from Mitchell's, including my 2012 Touareg TDI. I tow regularly with the vehicle, and after a recent service (which included a firmware flash) my trailer lights stopped working. After checking all the fuses, I went to the dealership to see if they could determine the issue. I was already late for a trip to Maine, and they reluctantly looked at the vehicle after making my sit around for an hour. They couldn't fix it so I had to rent a vehicle to tow my trailer. I left the vehicle with them the following week & they replaced a fuse (in an unmarked location on the passenger side of the vehicle). They blamed an adapter in my vehicle that I don't use for my trailer, and said it wouldn't be covered under warranty (Even though the truck is 14 months old and under 36k miles). They then did me a big favor and only charged my $110! 1/2 of what they said I owed! To change a 50¢ fuse! I can't imagine how they treat "customers" that bought there $50k vehicle somewhere else! read more

Everyone was straightforward and helpful, pressure was minimal. We got the deal done in one morning and I drove the car away at lunchtime. It was as smooth and easy as any car purchase I've made. They tried to charge me for a repair that was covered under warranty and it took a second opinion from another dealership to recognize their mistake. We bought a 2011 Jetta from here in 2013 because the model was well reviewed and the sales team included that pearl of great price a trustworthy man, Steve F. Steve would not work for an organization that wasn't on the up and up. 12 months on we had some routine maintenance work and a Delphi radio that gave up the ghost and had the repairs done here. Bill, the service advisor exceeded expectations with clear descriptions of options including that it might be less expensive to go to an auto audio specialist for the radio. I decided to go with Mitchell for the replacement of the radio for time and trust reasons.The work was done on time as quoted. Can't ask more than this. read more

We have a leased VW Golf diesel. We have been trying to deal with VW of America since last September. We received a buyout offer on our lease and downloaded the paperwork - had it signed and notarized - and sent it in in November. Since December our email site from VW has read "incomplete paperwork". When I called I was told that they have our 3 completed pages signed and notarized in our file but not the generic 7 pages that were explanations of the procedure. In December I faxed the entire set of pages to them. Two weeks later - still with an "incomplete paperwork" notice I called again and was told "we cannot accept your faxed paperwork because you opted to send it by mail the first time". So I sent by registered mail the completed set again and got back the signed receipt on January 10. I waited two weeks and called when my site still read "incomplete paperwork" and was told "we are very backed up and your paperwork has not yet been entered into the system". When I asked for a time frame I was told "I am not allowed to tell anyone a time frame but feel free to call any time." NOW THEY HAVE MADE US MAD!! We are still obligated to pay our lease payments and they are dragging their feet. I have posted this letter on Facebook and have received many comments from people who either are or who know someone in the same situation. From this day on I will tell everyone that I know to stay away from Volkswagen products. I will also be writing letters and calling any consumer help that I can find. Sorry Mitchell I know this is not in your hands but you have the unfortunate situation of representing a product that is made by a company that has been found cheating the public and then not complying with a government demand to make things right for the people who have been affected by this. We were visiting in CT when we unexpectedly drove over a log in the road. We took our VW wagon to Mitchell to have it checked for damage. They gave us an appointment the same day, did a thorough check and because there was no damage, they didn't even charge us- not even for the time spent checking under the car and assessing the alignment. The service representative was as nice as can be and very helpful. If we lived in the area we would be using their service for all our needs. They are the best dealership we have ever experienced. read more
