I was so excited when they first announced MIX was coming to Mount Pleasant. But once it was finally here, it was just very underwhelming. First off, the food kind of sucks. Everything seems prepackaged/ frozen. I'm pretty sure they don't make anything in house. And if they do, it's not with quality ingredients. Second, the atmosphere is just lame. I don't think I've ever seen a solid crowd. I occasionally see a few families go there in the early part of the day. As well as some work outings, but it just doesn't seem like it's a place that grown-ups go to have fun especially not at night. Lastly, their unlimited game cards aren't really unlimited. Unlimited games for one hour for $25. Skiball, pinball, ms pac man, pulp fiction. They have bowling here, and it's prettty loud. No open toed shoes if you do ax throwing but they said my sandals were ok at the bar. I tried to order a drink called the pool party for $20 served with 2 Popsicles and a duck but they were out of Popsicles. They also said since that's a 2 person fish bowl drink they can't serve it to just me, so I went with a flight called twisted childhood made w kool-aid vodka, deep eddy, lemonade, and edible glitter for $11. I liked the red. Purple was OK. Blue was kinda gross which is why I'm doing 2 stars on this review. I asked the bar tender what she liked on the menu and she said, "it's all good." I was hoping for something a bit more specific. She's skinny so maybe she just doesn't eat the food. They have happy hour Monday through Friday. 4-8 pm. two dollars off taps, four dollar wells, fifty percent off wine, five dollar john daley's, one dollar wings, five dollar pizza- topping extra. I've been here a few times, and honestly, I'm just not a huge fan. My last visit felt unwelcoming, which definitely put a damper on things. I didn't try the food, but I've heard great things, so I might give it another shot in the future. The best part of the night was the male bartender who made my espresso martini--seriously, he nailed it! Wish I had gotten his name. But I have to say, double straining an espresso martini? That's ridiculous. I felt bad even ordering it. No idea why management requires that and they did inform me their manager makes them but it's unnecessary and just makes things harder on the bartenders. The party vibe was fun, and mini bowling was a highlight! But a lot of the games were broken, which was disappointing. I didn't try axe throwing, but my friends did and had a great time. Had so much fun!! We went on a Friday to celebrate a friend's birthday. I feel like it wasn't super crowded for a Friday, which was surprising because it was so fun. They have an inside and outside bar. Our server was very sweet and so accommodating. She was also training another server at the time. Food was quick and delicious. We got fried pickles, which were super yummy!! The nachos were a HUGE portion and so good! We played ax throwing and it was so fun!!! I will say the margaritas tasted a little weird, but that's just me. It was a happy hour margarita so either could've been bottom shelf liquor or just a weird margarita mix that wasn't for me. Super cool new concept in Mt. Pleasant! There are so many fun things to do to occupy your time -besides eating and drinking! They call this "eatertainment" and wow I would be thrilled to throw a party here, host a gathering, or go on a date night or out with friends. Axe throwing and duck pin bowling were highlights! Myself and my coworkers were treated to a couple hours of time at Mix for our company Christmas Party. We started with the axe throwing. The event turned out to be great fun and no digits were lost. The host brought out chips and salsa, queso, and guacamole. And vegetable platters as well. Which were all fine. The place has a full bar as well. We then participated in the Duck Pins bowling. A really fun version of real bowling. The gutters got more than their share of errant balls before that was over. The hosts brought out food for everyone. Sliders, chicken wings, butterflied coconut shrimp, and several sides. For dessert, they served chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies, and fudge brownies. Our boss provided each person with a play card to use for playing all the video and pinball games in the house. Overall, it was an enjoyable time and I would recommend the place for anyone who likes these types of games. read more

I went here because my friend showed me their website. The website makes it look super cool & like it's catered more towards adults unlike most places. If Stars & Strikes & Dave & Buster went out of business tomorrow, I'd never come back to this place. We arrived a little after 6pm this past Saturday. It was kind of crowded, but the space is small. There are 2 sides & an outdoor space with swings. When you first walk in, there's a few duck bowling lanes to the left on the wall, high top tables in the center & the bar on the dividing wall. The other side has roughly 10 arcade games along 2 walls, 1 foosball table in the middle w/a few racing games. 3, maybe 4 lanes of axe throwing and a few more tables. There was a lot of chaos from the employees. Tables were left dirty & no one seemed to know my party was seated. A nice gentleman who I'm guessing was a supervisor or lead helped me out more than the waiter & waitress that came to my table. I ordered whatever shrimp salad they have on the menu. It was good once my bf hunted down a staffer to get the dressing the salad was missing. But not $17 good. The soda machine was down so the kids could only get sprite or Pepsi. We ordered a pitcher of patron margaritas & it tasted like oj. Couldn't taste the patron and eventually it almost tasted like a screwdriver. Pitcher was filled to the brim with ice. Not worth $42. I then ordered a raspberry 75 which is their take on the French 75. It tasted like raspberry syrup which was heavy on the bottom. I tasted no gin & no champagne. Also not worth the price. The kids enjoyed themselves. So I guess if you're in Mt. P & have nothin better to spend your money on with the kids, then go for it. We left around 9 & it was dead. All kids had left. Maybe that's when it becomes more adult oriented? Overall, Mix is too far away from where I live, not big enough & not worth the price. I prefer D&B but none exist here (not driving to Columbia), so S&S it is. I would have taken pictures but they keep it dark, dark in there for some reason. read more

I love this spot! Mini Bowling has my heart. MIX has been the hub of laughter and memories for my friends and I. Always have it on my itinerary. The staff is always so friendly and amazing, and the flatbreads never disappoint (the entire menu is delicious). Definitely recommend for a casual night out, or even as a spot to pregame! Y'all MIX is so fun! I'm a bit confused on what the vibe is, because it's sold as like an adult arcade bar place, but there is quite a lot of kids roaming around. But, still! MIX has lots of happy hour deals and different deals on new things every day. It's a fun place to drink beer, reminisce on your childhood by playing Pacman, Skee Ball, and car chases. Was lucky enough to attend their pre-opening friends & family night and wasn't sure what to expect with not much posted online about it. But wow, I was blown away!! They have almost every game imaginable & a little something for everyone -- from duckpin bowling (like regular bowling but on a smaller scale; so fun!), axe throwing, darts, curling, ping pong, arcade games and more! They also have a massive outdoor space and a full bar & food menu. Once they work out the kinks that come with any new opening this is going to be the place to be in Charleston! We visited Mix for an adult birthday celebration a couple of weeks ago. The service was good and staff was friendly. Games seemed expensive, not sure if that was because we were there on a Saturday PM, maybe it's cheaper during the day or weekday nights. Food was awful. We had nachos, buffalo Cauliflower and two different flat breads. Nachos came out barely warm and had the equivalent of Pace Picante Sauce on top. Cauliflower was just Texas Pete sauce. The Jalapeño popper flat bread was just bad. Pizza sauce is definitely from a can. Simply no flavor with cut up 1/2's of poppers on top. The flatbread crust itself was the only decent part. Thin and crispy. This place has great potential, hopefully they make some changes as there is really no other place like this in the area. read more

Fun games and good drinks! Prices are way too expensive, $9 per game of duckpin bowling is insane. Rob is a gem! But the general manager, Lisa Scialdone, is the most rude person I have ever encountered. Instead of explaining things, she is unkind and mean. And when customers are waiting for drinks, you don't just stand there and not help out. We spent $200 just for her to be rude to us at a time that wasn't even busy. Awful! We went on a Friday night and the place was dead, that should've been the first bad sign. When it was time to order food the server told us they were out of wings, pretzels, flatbreads, and a couple other items. So basically 75% of their menu. The food was okay when it came out. The mac and cheese the kids ordered was kraft and not worth the price. Also they were charging 17 dollars for truffle fries as an app. Completely overpriced and understaffed. I don't understand the business concept. Stuff like this, you have games to get people in the door and you make money through food and bev. However, they really try to nickel and dime you. If the street curling was free, I'd come with my friends and play and hang for a while. But charging an outrageous price by hour is a bit of a turn off. I usually don't post negative reviews. It just pisses me off when you're trying to show someone with disabilities a good time and the front desk staff is not even remotely attempting to be accommodating. Don't waste your time! Called in advance to take my elderly father with dementia to get him out of the house. The young lady who answered was extremely nice and said "come on in at 6:30, we don't have many reservations so there should be no problem getting you a bowling lane. If I can find a manger, I'll have them call you". She couldn't find a manager for me to talk to so this was going to have to suffice. Evidently they don't take reservations within 24 hours unless they feel like it because when we got there at 6:28, tables had reservation signs and they said it was gonna an hour wait. They'll tell you to come on in and there won't be a wait, then you get there and 1/2 the place is reserved and it's an hour or two wait. Then you have to buy a "play card" to play the games instead of using cash. But the things you want to do, you can't, because they will be reserved. And when you do luck into a duckpin bowling lane, you only get to bowl one game. And forget about the axe throwing unless you book a private party. The cocktails are good and the bartenders are nice though. I have a "play card" with $72 on it that I'll sell you for $20. You can play, pop a shot, a bass fishing game, and one or two other things with it. I just hope they can adapt the business model to this community and that it doesn't wind up being a yoga studio in a year. read more

My friend and I had a great quick visit there before I had to get her to the airport. The food was far better than I expected! We had a flatbread pizza, caesar salad and boneless wings and all were first rate! Then we headed to the other side of the bar and did our first ever axe-throwing. It was great fun! What a cool venue!! Finally, something to do with friends that is fun and social and not JUST a place to have cocktails! The curling table is a blast as well as the axe throwing, duck pin bowling and all the games. Something to do no matter where you turn. The outdoor patio with the swing chairs is a personal favorite.
