If they impress me, I ask them to come and view the job site, then give me a bid. This time, after a review of the MANY high-quality reviews for Mastercraft Interiors, I contacted Scott, the owner. We chatted, he came by the next day (a Tuesday), he saw the site, we discussed the job and colors, he delivered a detailed the bid the next day, we accepted same day. The very next day, he came by with color books to choose from, we discussed them at great length, then he directed me to a quality local paint store to get samples to try out. I got them, slapped on the walls, decided it was good and told Scott it was a go. I thought for sure it would be weeks before we got started and got done, which worried me as I have a very complicated travel schedule. To my pleased amazement, Scott somehow rearranged his life, worked from Saturday through Tuesday, was back Wednesday to put all the switch and outlet covers back on, helped me put a few tricky shelves back on the walls, and was packed up, cleaned up and out mid-day. It was awesome. It was a very tricky paint job as a bad remodeling job 15 years ago created some fancy footwork to paint in some areas. I've never seen such an efficient team (Scott + Jerri, a licensed professional who also got right to work). Incredibly meticulous painting, extremely careful about clean up. Just a beautiful job all around, including some delicate patching and caulking to address the poor workmanship from years ago. Michael is honest, reasonable and a skilled painter! I've been meaning to write this review for…read morequite some time now. A few months ago, we had Michael over for an estimate to paint three rooms and asked about his opinion on painting our chimney exterior. I was taken aback by how honest he was. Michael told us it was a matter of preference but he didn't think we needed to paint the brick chimney. He also brought up a good point that the cement between the bricks would get dirty and end up showing dirt easily and he thought it might be a waste of money but again, he did say it was a personal preference. I appreciated his honesty and expert opinion and since we were on the fence, we decided to save money and not paint the chimney. Most people out to make a buck would have just done the work and not said anything. Michael ended up painting our master bedroom, my daughter's bedroom and our main bathroom AND he actually did it himself! How often do you get a skilled painter who doesn't outsource his work to someone else? After Michael left, his paint job really did brighten up our whole house. I'm happy every time I go to the bathroom :-) and our master bedroom is very zen in a light silver gray shade. I honestly feel I sleep better now because it's so soothing. My daughter also enjoys her new bright colored walls. Had the work been bad, I think I'd be laying in bed staring at all the mistakes (like the original painter who painted our interior walls) but Michael did a wonderful job and we would definitely hire him again in a heartbeat.
