I live right on the coast and after repairing the deck and replacing railing it was a tense wait for the fog to lift and get the finish/seal done. Our 34 year old redwood deck looks incredible. I didn't think it could be saved but it's better than all the other finishers we've used in the past. Power washed, sanded, sealed. The Pacific Redwood finish seals and allows the grain to show. I had them come and powerwash about 2500+ sq feet total of decking, exposed aggregate patio, concrete driveway and brick walkway, and sand and stain a large flower bed. Tech (Matt) was a very nice fellow who was good with our dog, and did very meticulous work. These guys definitely take pride in their work. I learned a couple of critical things: If your stuff is unwashed for over a decade, like mine, it's dirtier than you think. You think you see dirty spots on your surfaces? Dude, it's ALL spots. I wish I had a before picture of the brick walkway, but it looks like the bricks were just bought new. Second, there is WAY more work that goes into this than you might think. I checked about renting a powerwasher and doing this myself. But this took a professional, with way more dedicated gadgets than I'd have rented, an entire long day of work to do to their level of "done." So the value of their service was very high for me. 100% would recommend and will call again! read more

Allan and his crew came out and power washed what was probably 30 years of grime off the roof, driveways, and exterior of a 1930s house. They did pretty much about as much as you could reach, washing every nook and cranny. He was quick to respond to text, and his crew was really good about making sure neighbors knew what was happening and even dealt with any complaints they had of water spraying onto their windows. They were there pretty late in the day to make sure it all got done and we're super happy with the results! read more

I've owned houses around Palo Alto for 40 years, and from time to time I have rented a power washer to clean up outdoors. This time I didn't feel up to doing it myself, so I called Bay Area Power Wash to clean my driveway, sidewalks, patios, stepping stones, and so forth. I am awestruck by how much better it looks than when I used to do it myself. Their "power wash" is much more than what you can do with machines from the rental store. Special tools at the end of their hose accomplished like-new cleaning of slate, concrete, pervious concrete, sandstone, and brick. Slate and pervious concrete are delicate--easy to damage with too strong a water stream--but they used special powered brushes and got it clean without any damage. Back when I was using rented power washers I managed to damage my slate a couple of times. They didn't, and they got it cleaner. Their service and reliability was as good as it gets. They gave me a cost estimate based on square footage, but part of the driveway was dirtier than it looked and they had to stop at dark. The owner came back himself the next morning and finished up. No additional charge for what was probably 20% more labor than they had planned. Polite, professional, affordable. And nice people, too. I'm thrilled. read more

The front walkway to my home was a disaster. It had several years of build up From the rains, soil adjacent to it and oak trees that moved the dirt around. There is not much direct sunlight on this area so it made the problem more substantive. I have some concrete but mostly ceramic tiles and a tiled staircase. I called Allan. I realize a negative review is out of the norm for this business, but I felt compelled to write it. And in truth I cannot address the work they do because they did not come on the day they were scheduled. When they didn't show up and I called, Allen promised he would get the job done another day that week even if he had to do it himself. We were available the next three days, but they didn't fit us in until Friday, which was the one day we couldn't do it. When I reminded him about doing it himself, he said, "the schedule is what the schedule is." Where was that motto when I was ON the schedule? The most annoying part was his attitude. I explained we have a pool deck and flagstone patio, and he dropped by that very same evening after work to take a look. We have pine needles, moss and leaf stains everywhere. I thought our old deck was on its last legs. It was gray and dingy, and generally unappealing to look at. We had been starting to think about tearing it down and building a new one. However, we don't have the money for that, and so I just set about replacing a few planks that were particularly affected by dry rot. When I pulled up the old planks, I discovered that the wood just below the gray surface was actually quite nice - rich redwood color. So, I started getting quotes from contractors to sand the deck down (it's pretty large) to bring out the color. I was getting quotes well in excess of $1000, and that didn't include the refinishing. When Allan showed up, he took one look at the deck and said that a complete sanding wasn't necessary. He felt that a good powerwashing would do the trick. I was skeptical at first, but he was confident that washing would be sufficient. The price he quoted was considerably lower than the other contractors, even with a complete resealing of the deck with a redwood stain. The result? Our deck looks brand-new. After washing, the original redwood color was already restored to most parts. The stain evened things out, and protects the wood from water and UV damage. I am stunned at the difference. Allan and his workers did a great job, and saved me a ton of money. I'll definitely hire them again the next time my deck needs maintenance. read more
