Came in for a beer early afternoon. Only person of 5 patrons. Had to ask the bartender Victoria for a water twice but never got it. The other blonde bartender was just sitting around talking to the owner and his buddy - made eye contact a couple times but wouldn't acknowledge my presence. Finally after the 4x asking I received my water. Owner walked up and asked her how much revenue so far today and she said 362.90. They opened at 11, it's 5p by this time. 6 hours, two bartenders and 1 chef. Now the semi-good part, ordered 3 beers and the tab came to 4.50. Pretty sweet so I ended up tipping 15.50. Had to use the restroom, got up and apparently they thought I was leaving and one of the 3 girls sitting around doing nothing said thank god he's gone. It was weird. One of the other workers was talking about giving her brother and his 16 year old friends alcohol and they cheered her on. It was just weird all around. The place could use a heavy cleaning instead of bunch of lazy 22 y/o. No beef with the owner, I just think he should weigh more heavily on the ability to do the job rather than tight clothes and shitty attitudes with no patron awareness. I really had a very horrible experience here on Saturday night. One of the guests in the parking lot was holding other spots for $20 when I have three slip discs in my back and I needed to park in the front and she would not let me as if she was traffic enforcement . I then got out of my car and she threatened to hurt me and I told the security guard at the front and then him and his manager (heavier set) gentlemen and they did not do anything about it since the African American lady threatened my life over a parking spot. They then looked at me and treated me like I was the crazy one and had to call the police (which are there on the regular) and all I wanted to do was come to play pool. I chose the wrong day. Came here like always but tonight was different, there is a five dollar cover charge that they don't tell you about until after you've waited in line and handing your ID over. Options are cash or use an atm(fee) to get the cash. There's also an additional five dollar charge for entry again if you step outside the front. Went to go smoke on the patio and not even ten minutes we come back and my table was taken over, all because a security guard said we abandoned our table. read more

We just moved to Murfreesboro, came in over the weekend and within minutes of getting our pool table a huge gang fight broke out! These people must not really care about the safety of anyone because security was nothing but small college boys. We all witnessed security getting beat up by the girlfriends of the men who were fighting and destroying the place. I just wanted to get my family out of there but gunshots were going off outside and they wouldn't let anyone out of the bar. In all reality and to make things worse THEY NEVER EVEN CALLED THE POLICE! The bartenders were just standing around laughing it up making things worse. If you wanna get shot up go to Mj's... Watch out for the glass in the parking lot from broken liquor bottles... Do they honestly care about anyone? no, not from my experience. People need to hear the truth. Hope this saves someone. read more

It was a pretty neat bar. For Murfreesboro, I give it 5 stars. I have been here before when it wasn't MJ's yet. St. Patty's weekend was my first time to check it out since it turned into MJ's. They pretty much still have the pool tables and stuff for you to shoot pool. We didn't get to that night because it was so super packed. We did though, get a table and have a few drinks. It was pretty loud because of how packed it was, so a conversation with each other is probably yelling loudly, at that point lol. I'm not sure if it's always packed like that, or it just happened to be packed because of it being St. Patty's Day weekend/Saturday night. I'll definitely come back and check it out again. read more

Ok, let's face it. It's been rough going with all this COVID burden and working from home. Perfect time to be a little lazy and get some food delivered, in my honest opinion. So, hubby and I chose MJ's on Monday night. I was not expecting a lot, really. Holy Moly did MJ's deliver!!! We both got the MJ's burger. What a large burger!! Perfectly cooked and fresh tasty toppings!! The burger wasn't soggy, either! The fries were crisp, warm, and fresh! The way they seal and package for delivery keeps things warm! Even the salad was tasty and fresh. Husband's only complaint was that he would rather have Ranch dressing with the potato skins over just sour cream, but it is just his personal preference. But the one dish that sold the place for us was the BBQ pork and mac 'n cheese!! We got it to share out of curiosity and we do not regret it! The mac 'n cheese has perfect cheesy flavour in a creamy beschamel sauce! A generous portion of fresh BBQ pork is layered on top and packs in a flavour punch sure to delight you!! Awesome dish!! Now that we have had the remote dining experience, we look forward to going in person! With food that good, you gotta go for the full monty!! Kudos to MJ's for a wonderful meal!! read more

7/31/19 As for now, I am giving this place a 4* rating. I'm planning on future trips to try more menu items and may increase that number. At least a half-dozen of my ride-share passengers have told me how great the food is there. I figured I owed to everyone to try it. I'd been there maybe 10 years ago with my son, shot some pool, drank some beer, inhaled second hand smoke, and ate typical bar food. Man, this place has changed for the better! (PS: they don't open until 3:00 PM) The bartender offered several suggestions, but the size of the nachos described were twice what I could eat. Same thing for her second suggestion, so I settled on the Mushroom Swiss Burger and Fries, with an unsweet tea on the side. The tea seemed a bit weak. French Fries were absolutely perfect. They came straight out of the fryer and were the hottest and freshest I've ever been served. You salt them to your liking, and they are still hot enough for the salt to stick. A very crispy outside gave way to perfect mashed potato tender insides. There was so much burger to eat! All the toppings were great. Served well done, the burger had a great beef taste. Maybe next time I will order it on the rare side. Pool tables cover the floor of this place. It is a pool hall, make no mistake about it. It is not a grimy pool hall. All the tables had nice felt with no worn spots and the cushions were lively. Most of the house cue sticks seemed to be true with no warping. Dart boards are there, too, about 8-10 of them, again, well maintained. They have live music and karaoke most nights, check their schedule on line. I'm going back. I wouldn't recommend. The bartenders are rude. They will come snatch your food or drinks away as soon as you look away. I was there about a week ago and one of the bartenders with glasses and a tattoo on her arm of some circles of some sort told me my religious beliefs were stupid and that God doesnt really exists that it was a stupid belief. I asked for a manager and the girls just gave me the run around. I left no tip for ANY of them. Ive been a bartender of awhile and needless to say this place needs better bartender servers. Gave it 1 star because of the security detail. I was asked to leave and not one of the security workers working that night could tell me why. All they could tell me is you're not band, and you can come back tomorrow and I'm like what did I do in the first place. So after every person working security that night escorted me out, I'm standing at my car talking to a friend and I'm very frustrated because I wasn't given a reason why I was removed. In my 41 years of life I have never been kicked out of any establishment and it was frustrating and embarrassing.. So as I talk to my friend outside at my car security comes out again asking me to leave the premises. At this point I am truly feeling picked on. I'm outside you have done your job. So while I'm talking to the security lady they sent to ask me to leave the premise this random guy runs up to my car, no shirt on and starts yelling explisits at me and my friend. My friend and I look at one another like what is really going on. Security tells him to back off and tells us he's drunk and they kicked him out as well, don't mind him, so this guy goes to his car puts a shirt on and goes back inside the bar and I'm like, ya'll need to be worried about him. All this happened pretty quickly, so I'm still talking to the security lady they sent outside and amazingly im very calm but I'm confused and scared. At this point another security guy flanks around my car in order to sneak up behind me and I see him. Now I'm mad, I was trying to get the security lady to understand my point of veiw but i cut off the conversation we were having and ask where do I need to stand to be off your property so you guy will just leave me alone. My belief is that security at this establishment has an agenda and I wouldn't recommend going. If you do go don't be surprised if you are a subject of harrassment. Nice little(big on the inside)bar close to home, my boyfriend loves thier mild wings, he comes way from LaVernge, picks me up, im across the street from MJ's for wings. The drinks are super strong. I like the Purpke Haze. Everyone her staff and patrons are super friendly, we usuall sit at the bar and always end up talking too whoever is sitting next to us. Prices are reasonable too. If I could give them zero stars I would. Have been here several times and not once left happy. The service is TERRIBLE! They obviously don't care about their customers, or even making money for that matter. One time I had to walk up to the bar after not being greeted for 15 min by any server, and once I get up to the bar the bartender is sitting in a chair on her phone, looks at me, then looks down at her phone to finish her text or whatever she was doing. Seriously??? And I am a bartender so I am usually understanding if they are busy but my group of 6 were literally 6 of like the 20 people total in there! Also, last week a friend of mine (and multiple other people in the group) were over charged on their bills on things they did not order. When my friend tried to dispute the items on the bill, the manager literally threw money in her face and told her to get the F out. And this manager is the owners wife!! Seriously out of control. Also belittled and berated her server in front of everyone, I'm sure because of all the mistakes on the bill that she's got to fix. Another time this same but case woman cornered a friend in the bathroom questioning her over her bad yelp review. Now I understand why the service sucks so bad. The management is awful! Will NEVER BE BACK AT THIS PLACE AGAIN. As well as about 50-70 of the darters considering you have since banned the whole entire league from playing there. I would leave NEGATIVE STARS if I could. I have been going to MJs for years to shoot pool, tonight changed that. I went with one of my family members tonight and was there for about 3 hours, maybe a little less, and while the night started out great, it quickly got worse. The group at the tables across from us was already drunk, and started dating very lewdly with each other during some of the karaoke songs being played. They were very rowdy throughout the night and the lewdness continued with the more alcohol consumed, we mentioned it to our server who said she would inform the rent a cop there and him watch the group. Nothing was done at that time. During some of the songs being sang, the singers were talking about who they would f**k during said songs, and who's pu**y they would eat. Upon mentioning it AGAIN to our server, she informed us we could speak to the manager (who happened to be behind the bar) when we tabbed out. Upon requesting to speak to the manager (Allison) and telling her what was going on at that table, she point blank informed us "they are spending money at the bar, I can't do or say anything to them." When it was mentioned about the public lewdness she informed us again "because they are spending money I CANNOT make them leave." Never have I seen the management at this place NOT respect all patrons, and never have I been to a place that will allow that kind of activity to continue when customers complain about it. They charge 7 dollars per hour to play pool, i didnt know this but I guess its reasonable. They give you a card with your table number on it and I left it at the table and if you dont return it to the bar thats 10 feet away they charge you. As a Commercial Truck Driver and when I have to reset my drive-time, I park my truck and get a Hotel room. That being said, I order food from Doordash and MJ's is one of my top choices. Never had a problem with the food from this establishment. I've ordered, over the past few months, just about everything on the menu. All the food has been GREAT! If you are one of those that has a more refined palate, then look else where but in my opinion, WAY better that Truck Stop food and Bar food I've had in the past. I have never had the time to set-foot into this bar, but I plan to. At this point, I can only comment on the food that has been delivered to my Hotel room. 10 stars! Thanks! Last night I was at MJ's. I asked how much is your Milagro. The bartender said five dollars. I said are you kidding me... I will buy the whole bottle. So I started buying shots of Milagro. Pretty much went through the whole bottle with me and my friends. At the end of the night I get my tab. Because I had made such a big deal about it only being five dollars the girl behind the bar went to her boss and said hey we need a bump this up in price. So it went from $5 to $16 a shot. The bartender did not let me know and my tab ended up being over $300. I've spend way too much money in this place on a regular for you to screw me over like that!!!! If it wasn't for me saying anything your management would have never known that they messed up! But you ended up fucking me, the customer over, that was honest with you!!! It was very unfortunate that the bartender did not even mention to me that the price has been changed from $5 to $16! Very unethical! I always over tip and always take care of the staff. It is safe to say this is my new hang out spot on my days off. Jeff and his staff are wonderful. They seem to have some type of special daily. Karaoke, DJ, live bands here and there make it something different every night so you're not burned out if you are a regular. Service is terrible! Bartenders, waitress staff and owners are rude. I've been to this place at least 10+ times and every time there is a problem. They will over charge you on your tab then get mad if you question it. The manager seriously threw money at my friends face then proceeded to have them escorted out after she questioned her tab. Stopped in for a quick lunch one day. Burgers were great, place was clean. Loved the vibe with all the tvs and looks great with the recent remodel. I love the sound system here for singing, but from there everything went downhill. The margaritas barely have any alcohol in it and I caught Kj Sam bad mouthing singers while theyre performing. He moves to the bar while theyre singing, and while looking at them he makes comments to his bar friends. One comment he made was about a very talented african american singer, kj Sam said his song selection was terrible. The other comment was about an overweight disabled woman, he kept looking at her and telling the (very same african american singer he later mocked) that hed "never" sleep with her, NOT her. He later pretended to be her friend too. Im pretty sure most people would just ignore this, and I almost did until I saw him be so fake friendly with the same people he mocks. Please be aware that if he makes mean girl comments to you about others, hes doing the same about you.
