We were a party of 7, all women. The best thing I can say is, our captain and crew blended very well with our small group. The captain and crew had a good time interacting with us. Age range 30ish to late 60ish. Our group had a great time! Music, food, drinks were great. Boat was well equipped with water toys, ice coolers, bathroom on the boat very clean, we were able to play our own music. All around excellent time!

We did a joint bachelor and bachelorette party, and it could not have been more perfect. The vibe was amazing--relaxed, welcoming, and so much fun. At one point, a bride from another boat even came over just to ride the bull with us! The boat comes fully loaded with a great sound system (perfect for your party playlist), plus ice and water provided so you don't have to think about it. We brought jello shots, and the crew was totally cool with it. The captain and first mate really made the day--they were laid-back and funny, but also super professional and kept us safe while letting us have the best time ever. What really sets them apart is the energy: it feels like being out with friends instead of a strict tour company. They genuinely want you to have fun. And if you check them out on TikTok and Instagram, you'll see they capture the memories in a way that's fun and shareable--but always PG-rated, so there's no worry about grandma seeing anything too wild! Truly a 10/10 experience from start to finish. We're already planning to book again, and I can't recommend them enough if you want an unforgettable, hassle-free day on the water. Don't even think twice--just book them! You'll be so glad you did.

We stopped to pick up bait out of his pods and saw several sharks swarming around the bait site. These were pretty good sized sharks I will add. It was pretty cool to see. Check out my video! After we collected our bait we headed out. We had to go out to federal waters to fish so we went 10 miles off shore I believe. The first spot we stopped in there were a pod of dolphins hanging out seemingly waiting for us to bring them some fish up for them. Phil said that "this is the worst thing that could happen to us" so we left that area and headed to another. Phil took time to explain what to do to the kids and made sure they were taken care of with bait first. I appreciated his attention to detail and his witty banter with them. When we got to the new spot, he baited us all up and had us all drop to the bottom at the same time. It wasn't two minutes before we were catching fish. One after another we started reeling them up. As we were bringing them up, two of us had sharks come and snatch our catches off of the line. We then bailed on that spot because of the sharks. Arrived at another spot and had the same luck. It's like this man knows exactly where to drop bait to reel up fish fast. Every spot we visited was like this. Phil even communicated with another Captain about the luck we were having and he headed over to our spot to fish. He seemed to appreciate the help and in no time his group was catching fish. They didn't seem to have much luck until Phil called him over. We then moved to a spot to catch Amberjack. We caught a few but they were too small to keep. We caught our limit of Red Snapper after throwing several back, landed a big triggerfish we had to release due to season being over, and caught a few other random fish as well. All in all it was a fantastic trip! Phil and his wife cleaned and cut the fish into nice fillets for us once we hit the beach. What a haul!!! ***HEADS UP*** Here is a note about Greyton Beach though. Sharks are really close to the beach. In fact, as we were pulling up to get on the trailer we saw a 5 ft shark swimming between a group of beach goers. They were completely oblivious to it. It was literally in 3-4 ft deep water probably 20 yards from shore. I feel like the bait traps just off the beach are really attracting them to this area. So come to fish but swim elsewhere. No one wants to be shark food yo!!!

Boat Charter Destin - Girls Night Out

    Boat Charter Destin

I must say, I am completely baffled on how Boat Charter Destin has such a high rating as our family…read morevacation experience was a complete disappointment and a waste of our hard earned money. I am not one to post negative reviews, however this experience warrants it. I will add that I e-mailed the charter in an effort to address our experience and they have opted to not respond so I am happy to share our negative experience publicly. Funny how they respond quickly when you are booking a trip, but fail to respond if there is an issue to be addressed post trip. Our trip was scheduled to depart at 7am, however the boat was not prepared for departure and we did not get under way until 7:52am. Our Captain (Jeff) did not have the boat fueled, he did not have ice, nor bait ready for our trip. While "fueling" the boat, he managed to fill the fresh water tank reservoir with gasoline, requiring the marina to subsequently pump the gasoline out before we could depart. Obviously this did not instill confidence as to the captains boating capabilities or familiarity with the boat. Since we opted to place our personal possessions into the china toilet cabinet, all of our personal belongings ended up reeking of fuel vapors. After preparing the boat for our "fishing" trip, Jeff had to make yet an additional detour to obtain ice and bait for the trip. I will add he only obtained 20 bait fish for the entire trip. Knowing the complexity of the ocean and the likelihood that one will go through a lot of bait while trying to catch fish, why would you only get 20 baitfish and then put several of the baitfish on the hook in whole instead of preparing cut bait??? Being an avid fisherman, it is important to match bait size to hook size. If the fish are stealing the bait, put smaller pieces of the bait on the circle hooks so they can't just rip it off and they have to actually take the bait....or switch to J hooks. Now that we have finally spent an hour and a half of our morning anxiously awaiting for Jeff to have the boat ready for the fishing trip, we finally get under way. After getting to our first fishing spot, Jeff informed us we would be using three rods for our four person fishing trip until he got us on some fish.....which never happened. Since the captain invested in cheap fishing gear, there was an issue with one of the reels while attempting to land a fish and we only "fished" with three rods for the remainder of the trip. Should have been more prepared for this I would think. Without exaggeration, we literally had our lines wet and in the water for less than 30 minutes for the entire five hour "fishing" trip. In full disclosure, there were dolphins following the boat and made fishing a bit more difficult. Jeff would put us on a spot and we would drop our lines a couple times and we would again move to a new location which could take an extensive amount of time. We literally fished 4 spots the entire trip and I am not exaggerating when I say we only had our lines in the water for 30 minutes total. This is unacceptable! I hope anyone who takes the time to read our review will not have the same negative experience we did. Since we reside in Texas, we based our decision to use this charter after reading the posted reviews. We now realize our experience did not mimic that of others. You would think the charter would want to address our experience, but it seems they got their money and they are moving on to the next. I wish future customers the best!
