While there it sustained fiberglass damage. I was told they are not responsible for it. After many emails later the fiberglass was repaired on 21 March 2024. The marina had my boat for 3 days. On Saturday 23 March I went to pick the boat up. While the repair job was nice, I went below which I had locked up and gave the manager the key in case of emergency. Once there I noticed someone decided to use my head and left me the nastiest mess you can imagine. Why did they feel it was necessary to leave poon my toilet? I mean cmon. This is absolutely disgusting and totally unprofessional. You can rest assured I will NEVER utilize this marina in my life.

I speak highly of beach weekend because the kids working the docks are always so nice and accommodating . But this time we waited 20 mins with our dolley cart loaded while everyone working inflated floats for customers and walked around ...... we were just about to say something then someone walked up to give my hubs the boat walk through . This time we didn't get a boat with the complimentary huge cooler . It was a smaller boat . Too late to switch but ask for that one if you can because it's nice transferring everything to there big cooler and not have 5/7 yetis on one pontoon . This trip the boat we rented broke down 1/2 way to crab ..... it delayed us over an hour waiting for new boat . We swam around where we were parked and chilled. Totally fine and happy waiting in gorgeous clear water off oakaloosa . When they came to replace it we had to unload current boats bags and coolers for 10 people to new boat . Not bad but kinda added more time to find where everyone's stuff was after we quickly moved . We were kinda annoyed he said we could have an extra 30 mins added to our trip . We told him we were delayed over an hour so he said 1 hour passed our time scheduled to return ...... It's likely we will rent from them again in July because of all the great experiences we've had in the passed . They do military discounts and it's pretty reasonably priced . Plus they drive the boat out and in the marina for you...... I would have been happy if they gave us more then an additional hour that we missed or a discount on the next rental ..... we got there at 10:30am . 30 mins before our check in time . But we legit didn't get to crab till after 1 between waiting to load then the boat beeping and stalling out 1/2 way there .

The reasons it wasn't 5 stars was mainly due to the equipment you get. The boat is your typical double decker pontoon boat with a 115 on it. The problem was that the propeller was so worn out that we weren't able to drive it like we should have. Took almost an hour to get to crab island from their dock. We were getting passed by all sorts of boats with the same & smaller motors like we weren't even moving. To make it worse, they don't have speakers on the boats and suggest you rent their TurtleBox speaker. No problem right? We spent $50 to rent it only for it to die in less than 2 hours. We called back to the receptionist to let them know about our issues. After a little time they said they would refund us 50% of what we paid plus take off the $75 Lilly Pad rental. About 2 hours later I got an email saying that I was refunded a little over $181. So they felt refunding $181 out of our $1362 bill was going to be okay. Wouldn't recommend this company, bring your own boat or use someone else.

I took my boat there to have them run a diagnostic on it for an alarm. They called me and told me it was an oxygen sensor and they could replace it. I told them to go ahead and replace it. I wondered how they would decide which one was bad because the boat has two o2 sensors. A couple days later they called me back and said, "your boat has two oxygen sensors so we need to replace them. both". They told me they would not charge for additional labor only for the additional part. A week or so later they texted me and said they could not get to the rear sensor without taking the front motor mount off and taking the front of the engine completely apart to "try" and lower the front of the engine enough to get to the rear sensor, Or they could put a small hole in the rear of my boat to get to the sensor and repair it with a plate. Trusting they had adequate personnel who knew what they were doing I said ok. They called me approximately 3 weeks later and said my boat was ready. I asked them if they tested the boat and they said they ran the boat and everything tested out good. I picked the boat up and parked it for two weeks. I took it and put it in the water and it would not get up on plane, would not accelerate over 3000 rpm and then the alarm came back on. I did not have this issue before taking it to them. I texted the service person I had been working with, Adam, and explained the issues and ended the text with "Any Suggestion". Of course I heard nothing back from Adam. Ironically they have a large sign over the service counter with bold letters that says "Communication" is key. I guess Adam can't read because he sure didn't communicate after I just paid the nearly $400 for nothing. So now my boat is in worse shape, and Sunrise don't want to talk about it. So I called a few more Mercury dealers and found a fantastic mechanic in Alabama. I took the boat to him and explained the issues. He immediately noticed the "patch job" on my boat and said, "what the hell were they thinking." He immediately opened the engine hatch, pointed to the exhaust elbow and said all they had to do was remove four bolts and drop the elbow and the oxygen sensor is mounted to the elbow. They cut a hole in your boat for no reason.". His response did not surprise me because I wondered the same thing when they called me , but I trusted what they said as professional mechanics. The next day the mechanic called and said they (Sunrise Marine) never reset the code in the computer, so there was no way they ran the boat or tested the boat as they claimed. He stated he reset the code, ran the boat on the hose, then took it to the lake. He advised the boat ran fine. So I set up a maintenance repair replace to make sure the boat was top notch. I had him change several components like the water pumps, thermostat, etc. While he had it apart, he pulled both oxygen sensors, and showed me Sunrise only replaced one of them, although they charged me for both and told me they replaced both. Now I see this as fraud! I have taken pictures of them (one is clearly not a new sensor) and I'm going to give the manager an opportunity to make it right. We'll see how well his "Communication" is. If I don't hear from someone soon, I'll be posting the pictures of their work, and talking with the better business bureau. I should have listened to the salesman, Joe, who told me not to let them work on my boat for service because I could save a lot of money. ".

not good at all. 51yr old Life long Destin resident since 1974 and have owned and worked on…read morenumerous vessels. took my boat in for a new steering cable and helm install. easy fix, right? when I got the boat home realized the gauges weren't working and found they had pulled several wires loose pulling the steering cable and didn't bother reconnecting them so there was no power on the dash and no stere. then I took the boat out and launched it into the water only to realize they put the steering cable in wrong and it sent me in the wrong direction almost causing an accident at the dock. I tried calling twice and left messages with no return call for weeks. finally called a third time and talked to Todd the manager who didn't seam bothered or apologetic in any way. he never called me back either. just some young guys pick up the boat and then drop it back off later with again an unconcerning attitude like they were bothered by the whole thing. was in the driveway when they pulled in and yelled F**K real loud cause they saw me. you can't be more unprofessional and out right disrespectful to people and their personal property. I will tell this story for a long time and will not be returning or recommending the Ships Chandler anymore.
