Let me start by saying I was far more patient than I think most would be in this situation, and the woman who finally did my nails made up tremendously for the awful start. I was very pleased with the gel pedi and callus removal treatment (Spa Treatment #2). The man who did it took his time and it really shows. The lady I went to after for my gel mani was mf awful though! Firstly, her tools looked dirty! I should've said something immediately but I didn't. Shame on me...I'll be on the lookout for signs of infection this week. Moving on. Without soaking my fingers or anything, she goes into using a large round grit tip power tool like a weedwacker on my cuticles. Then she proceeds to use a large dirty cuticle cutter, then dirty cuticle pusher, and again with the cuticle cutter. Tearing my skin and going way too far down. I winced, and asked her if she could soak my fingers before trimming them to make it easier. She gets me a bowl of water for my hands and applies alcohol on a cotton ball to one of my bleeding fingers. I'm pissed and annoyed, but the words are still making their way up my throat. Next, she files my nails and even the skin just clipped at the cuticle.. including the finger she just made bleed! Middle finger throbbing she still tries to push it back. When she's done, she tells me to go wash my hands to proceed with color, that's when I said I would pay for my pedicure but I'm not going to continue the manicure. I got up telling out loud what was wrong as I walked towards the door. That's when another employee, the only Hispanic woman, offered to do my nails. I reluctantly agreed. She asked me what was wrong with the first lady, and I told her: I don't like the tools she's using The tools she's using are dirty I'm bleeding and in pain She's ripping the cuticles out of my dry hands And she apologized and acknowledged the areas where I was nicked on two fingers. She put a soothing gel over my cuticles before tending to each one with a fine tip cuticle tool that she sprayed down in front of me, and did a wonderful job painting. I tipped the Hispanic woman and the man that did my pedi both $10 to show my gratitude, but BEWARE the Asian woman with the burgundy ombré hair, it was a nightmare. read more

I chose 4 because transparency is a great deal. There are good and bad products offered at nail salons. It's up to the owner/staff to be knowledgeable about there products. I got the chrome color nails and wasn't aware that it literally only last one day. I paid an extra 20$ and got very disappointed. When I left MK walked next door to purchase something it's when I noticed the chrome was already coming off, and I had to go right back to have it fixed. Still after getting it fixed later I noticed the same nail and others chrome peeling. Perhaps if I was told it's not meant for longevity before the fact & just for a wedding or 1-2 day special occasion then I could've made a better decision. It would've been my choice cause chrome polish is expensive 20$ extra at MK. End result I'm going back Friday to have it taken off and do my normal gel. Take heed to my warning. read more

I have been here three times. The first time was GREAT, the second time, I made an appointment, and was treated like garbage, and the gel nails lasted around four days. THIS time I went, to give it one more try. It wasn't full of people, I got a mani-pedi, and the bill was over one hundred dollars. I gave the "technician" a twenty dollar tip, and she was over the moon about that. it has lasted less than one week. If your technician is SCRAPING the bottom of the nail polish, before she asks for a new bottle, you will not get a good manicure. It is already beginning to LIFT RIGHT OFF my nails. Also, my cuticles are rough and peeling. Never again. I get a GREAT manicure in West Haven, and I guess I am just going to have to travel that far for a good manicure even though I live in New Haven. These were the WORST manicures I have ever had, and I think three tries are enough. OH! And one more thing. You pay extra for "steam." The steam was, throughout the pedicure, aimed at my knee. I've been robbed. I went for a pedicure and in less than 25 minutes the boy was done with me, I paid $45 dollars and he basically rubbed my feet in hot water and put gel color on my nails, I will never ever go back again, so disappointed. read more

Expected this to be a decent place given its proximity to Woodbridge. However it was one of the dirtier nail salons I've been to - nail dust all over the work stations, crumpled dirty rags, lack of order. Wouldn't be in a rush to go back. read more
