Despite first meeting with them in April 2024, their incompetence delayed preparation and filing until June 2024. In November I received a notification from the IRS that my taxes had not been filed. I gave them multiple opportunities to make things right. Not only did they fail to complete the work I paid for, but they also refused to issue a refund despite their negligence. From the start, communication was a major issue. My scheduled appointment was mishandled, last-minute cancellations further stalled the process, calls went unanswered, the Annandale office was locked during business hours, and even when I visited in person, errors occurred--such as being given the wrong or incomplete tax documents. This caused unnecessary stress as a new small business owner who relies on timely and accurate filings. When I realized how severely they had mishandled my tax filings, I had to hire another tax professional to review their work and file my taxes. If you're looking for a reliable and responsive tax service, I cannot recommend JMU Tax based on my experience. The lack of professionalism, follow-through, and care for their clients made this a costly and stressful ordeal.
