We have an ongoing contract to stamp concrete our backyard. An Impressions staff member measured…read moreour backyard on July 2022 and we paid the down payment of $4240. The agreement was that the installation would start late fall 2022 or early spring 2023. After paying the deposit, some changes have happened in between that would cause us to change the scope of the project. When we wanted to discuss that with the impressions staff member, he surprised us with "the minimum mobilization and materials costs for any project of $10,500.00 + HST", which was never brought to our attention before signing the contract and paying the deposit. Also it is not stated in the contract. We are in the process of selling the house that is the subject of the contract. Hence, we have been trying to reach you multiple times with no success. Only once somebody (maybe the receptionist) took our call and promised that he would let somebody from your team contact us, but this of course hasn't happened. We then tried to find the founder of this company and we found it. So we escalated the matter to him. Surprisingly he responded and promised to follow up and get back to us. This was about 3 weeks ago. We sent him a friendly reminder, but then nothing happened. This is why, we feel that we were taken advantage of. They are using our personal circumstances to confiscate our deposit without even clarifying the situation or providing any kind of work or resolution. Our request is that we would like to have a change of the scope that wouldn't limit us to this minimum mobilization amount in our new house. This experience made us doubt that company's customer service as well as its business in general. We are really disappointed by the service that we have received from them so far. It is ridiculous how they were responsive when they wanted our project and wanted to collect the deposit, but after that nothing. We already found that several complaints have been filed against them in BBB that are similar to ours, which made us feel that it was a huge mistake working with them. We feel that we got scammed by a Canadian company. This is why, we are submitting this review to help others not fall through the same trap.

What a disaster the concrete did not even last a season it all cracked and the front steps were not level. also they did not clean up after themselves forms from walkway and steps were thrown across the road in the grass and they had the powder all over the front of our house, windows, front door and in the garden and eave trofts. Cigarette butts all over the yard. took us 3 days to clean up after them. Not impressed. We then contacted Jay that Year as it all cracked and he said he would look at it in the Spring. The second time they redid the concrete it all cracked again in the same places. We notified Jay again and he then came and said they would redo it all and make us happy! We tried to get hold of Jay all summer no answer then he texted us late fall and said he wanted $16,000 dollars to redo the walk way & front steps. Great Warranty! Very disappointed with the results & the photos we have will show the mess they made of our steps and walkway. We worked with Alamode Concrete September through October last year to get a pool installed. It…read morewas a very disappointing experience and I would not recommend working with them. Alamode was difficult to work with, would agree on things verbally (the location of the pool for example) and then just do something else resulting in rework. They did excessive damage to our neighbor's property, including removing sod well past the property line even after I marked where it was for them. They lack internal communication and so you would speak to one person about what type of stamp to use on the concrete and someone else would do something different, the colouring all had to be redone because of an apparent lack of clear direction to staff from management. They sloped the concrete towards my house instead of to the side as agreed and it is completely uneven and they did not even follow the forms they installed. The pool itself has scratches to the finish from installation, is not properly back filled and is hollow under the stairs, the coping stone coming detached and now at various angles, and the skimmer is not properly supported. The start up for the pool was poorly done, it was not properly cleaned, there was not enough salt added for the chlorine generator to even work so there was essentially no chemicals in the pool, no instructions on how to use the equipment, and I had to figure everything out myself. While I would like to share something positive I unfortunately can't, and I would advise against considering them. I would also avoid Aquarino pools, as that is who I contacted for a pool and Alamode Concrete was their authorized contractor, and they have not offered any support when contacted.

They would told you it is out of their hand. I ordered that winter safety cover from them company last year and it wasn't ready at the time them estimated it would be ready. We end up need to wait until Nov to have the pool closed. Waste lots of time of cleaning the pool which was too cold to swim in and waste lots of money to buy chemical to clean it. Just because the winter cover can't be arrived on time. and we suffered a lot for waiting to close the pool. Then even they came to measure it before making it. the size wasn't right! They took it back for resizing in June then and it is not back yet! They called me In the beginning of Aug to order pool closing service, but they don't even know my winter cover is not back yet. Bad communication between departments. Only the sale department is efficient. The service department is garbage. Another frustration is they don't brother to return your call or email. Finally I reach the owner today. Thé owner said they are not the priority to have the product from the supplier because they are not the business deal with life and death. It is so funny, it's first time I learn that swimming pool cover supplier also make equipment that save life. Thé attitude of the owner tells all. Choose your pool service company wisely folks.

Talked to Hayward and they suggested we buy a new pump. The pump was $1200 and they want us to buy a new one... after four seasons. We thought we were buying the best and through a reputable dealer. After…read moreseveral recalls they got it right: wrinkled liner was almost completely straightened (except in the corners it is still wrinkled), leaks around the skimmer fixed after a couple of tries. But unfortunately, Steve Bourada, who with his borther Derrick operates Poolarama had also recommended his brother Marc Bourada, who at some point in the past parted his business ways with his brothers and is now going and operating under business names "Outdoor living designs" and "Creative Solutions Inc" for some backyard design work. Well, two years later Marc is nowhere to be found holding on to my over $20k (the Ontario Small Claims Court made a judgement for over $20k + interest) but now Marc is not responding to his phone, not returning calls, did not respond to the judgement. According to Derrick Bourada, who said to me over the phone that they have worked with Marc and will continue working with Marc in the future, but his business has nothing to do with them. And we are not the only ones: I'm aware of other cases where the same vector lead to Marc swindling various amounts of money: Steve would recommend Marc, Marc would collect and vanish at various stages of the project.
