I decided to go to Michelle upon searching for a salon nearby and was so glad I went with her! I saw a lot of good reviews and vivid colors that she has worked on with other clients hair. I was interested in getting pink into my hair but Michelle was honest about my current hair condition and told me the truth about what color is achievable for my hair. I previously dyed my hair at home so it was quite damaged, she told me we could do purple instead because it wouldn't take pink since it would require my hair to be a different level and not so damaged so I went with her opinion because she's the hair professional. Went there after I got a really bad hair cut from Studio 415 (see my other review). This place is inside of an Asian super market building. I specifically booked Michelle due to overwhelming great reviews about her. She went above and beyond explaining to me what the problem was and took pictures of the messed up "holes", slip ends and breakage from the sloppy razor chopping I got from Studio 415's hair stylist. She really took her time to fix my bad hair cut to the best she could and also made it easy for me to style at home. The price was reasonable and the place is clean and trendy. The only thing that I would mention is that the booking system can be confusing since I saw some negative reviews stating that the hair stylist was double or triple booked. I booked a 9 am appointment online and found out that the owner does not start working until 9:30 am. I do think it's because the online booking system shows incorrect openings. Hopefully they can get that fixed. Also, they only take Venmo, Zelle, or cash which doesn't bother me at all, but I did see a negative review about it. Overall, I do think the owner Michelle is an amazing hair stylist if you have challenging hair issues, she's very skillful and will try her best to make it look good. Had an online appointment here for a haircut, and when I arrived, I was seated at a hair washing station right away! The barber washed my hair thoroughly and gave me a long scalp massage. My partner and I were in much need of a haircut and used Yelp to find this salon. We decided to do a walk-in. When arriving, the salon had a lot of clients and two people cutting hair (Michelle (owner) and a barber). Because we were only receiving a haircut, we were seated within 15-20 mins, which isn't bad considering the amount of people in the shop. The interior decor was eye catching: very modern, sleek, and lots of great lighting to make the place look bright and clean. Love the indoor plants and the whole shop set-up. For my experience, Michelle is an amazing hair expert. She was very kind. She examined my hair and noted the problems that I had and suggested I receive a certain hair length along with a haircut that she believed would look good on me. She guessed correctly how long I had it growing too! After the haircut, she made sure to let me know how often I need to maintain my hair and suggested the specific shampoo/conditioner that I should purchase from the Matrix line (the shop sells these products). I came in for a scalp care treatment since I'm a 30 year old male that has early signs of thinning/shedding hair and my experience was amazing! They use some sort of Chinese technology to see what the root issue is and how to fix it. I really loved the scalp, neck & shoulder massage. I almost fell asleep sitting in the chair. I came in for a men's haircut near closing time as Michelle was working with another client who was bleaching their hair. She gave me notice that she would need to help with the that process alongside another stylist, but that she would still be able to cut my hair in a timely manner. I showed Michelle the inspiration pictures for the haircut I would like and she gave me a knowledge breakdown on how the style I wanted may look because of the thickness and texture of my hair, providing the alterations that she felt would fit my hair better. I previously had really long hair and was anxious to give it a fully committed chop. I am super glad I went with Michelle because it came out better than I expected! I will definitely be going to her whenever I am back home in Sacramento. For her going rate of 25 dollars for men's haircuts, this is a steal for someone of her expertise and customer service. Michelle is absolutely wonderful. She is so skilled, kind, and all around such a lovely person. I came in on a Monday for a cut and color wanting to go shorter + chocolate brown. The last time I dyed my hair was 2 years ago so it was very grown out. I showed her a picture and she got straight to work. After washing, I noticed that my hair came out a little more red than I wanted but I didn't mention it in the moment. After I went home, I noticed it was more red than I wanted. It was still a gorgeous color, but just didn't fit my skin tone that well. So I called to express my concern and without hesitation or me even asking her to fix it, Michelle told me to come back again on Tuesday to fix it for no charge. Gordon is also so nice and I saw he was giving super great haircuts to multiple men during my visits too. I've been going to Michelle for nearly 15 years, and there's truly no one like her. She's incredibly talented, consistent, and takes her time to make sure every cut, color, or treatment is done right. Her new shop is beautiful, calming, and feels like a breath of fresh air...just like her work. Today, she colored my husband's hair and somehow matched it perfectly to his natural pre-grey color. I had read the reviews and went online to book an appt with Michelle. When I got there it appears they don't check their online appts as she didn't have availability so I was put with another stylist. He did what I thought was an okay job. When it was over I was only really able to access the front which looked okay. When I get home I realized there was a whole section of hair that he had missed. I had to cut it myself as I got 5 inches off and now had a rat tail. After the weekend of styling it I also realized the back is completely choppy, uneven and not at all layered, people let me know the bottom is not even. I'm so disappointed in trying a new place and now will have to go to another salon to pay for a second hair cut this week to get it fixed. Bummed at the whole experience. read more

Walk ins are welcome but if you want by appointment it's a breeze in getting one. The hairstylist cut my hair the way I instructed it to be cut. Price is reasonable and they offer other hair services as well. Most of all an Asian grocery store is in the same compound so after my haircut I did a little bit of grocery shopping. IF YOU HAVE LONG BEAUTIFUL HAIR DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Worst experience of my life! I am an introvert. Will do my best to calmly resolve a bad situation. I came here expecting a trim and came out butchered. I had lower back length wavy hair, not frizzy. It took me 2 years to reach my hair goals. It was constantly complimented. Honestly Beautiful AND Healthy. After going to them....my hair is almost to my shoulders now and I look like a Christmas tree and it's crazy frizzy. It was a male stylist that did the "trim" He YANKED at my wavy/curly hair towards the end and did a dry cut, which is typical for curly hair but he assured me he knew how to do it. Cost was never an issue, for a wash. I cried at the salon after seeing how uneven and short HE had cut it. They lied and offered a $10 dollar discount, but still charged me $35. NEVER COME HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE! EDIT: After reading other reviews I think I might have been racially profiled. They sat me for a 15-20 min hair cut, after I told them to take their time. Wash if the stylist felt better cutting wavy hair damp or dry, their choice. They also did not offer me any other services. I am still in literal tears. read more

I went in for a color and haircut. My hair needed a touch up with color and some blending for my old highlights. Michelle did a wonderful job of using 2 types of color to achieve this.
