We liked the unit and didn't want to lose it but wanted to keep our options open so I put in the application to hold the unit in question he quickly rounded up additional listings to look at before I was approved and had to decide yes or no. I narrowed the list to one unit that I was really interested and he put together a showing really fast. He offered some insight on each unit that even I hadn't thought of and weighed out pros/cons with me. In the end I went with the original unit and am in the process of moving in now. Do not rent in the Ontario Plaza building at 10 E Ontario St in River North. Living here has been…read morenoting but a headache and I do not recommend it. First, the air conditioning does not work. Management is constantly send out updates saying they're working on it and it was never repaired during my 2 years in the building. I had a corner unit that doesn't receive good airflow, so the apartment was regularly in the 80's and 90's inside the apartment during the summer. Second, maintenance is awful. The A/C unit above my apartment leaked and flooded my bedroom. It took almost two months before the hole in the ceiling was repaired. I'm addition, my bathroom flooded from a pipe backup (!), leaving an awful smell that maintenance insists doesn't exist. Third, the wiring in the building sucks so my electric bill maxed out near $400 in December and January. NRS insists that this isn't their problem and refused to reimburse me for any portion of the bill. Finally, they refused to negotiate the final month (despite no air conditioning in June and the fact that I moved out early) and sent my account to collections, damaging my credit. Overall, the experience with this building was terrible and NRS did nothing to help or make it better. I would give zero stars if I could The view is nice tho.
