This place is easy to miss when driving through Farmington. The building is inconspicuous and has a happy face as a logo, so if you blink you'll miss it. This was a deviation from my normal Mexican spot, and I'm happy I stopped by. It is slightly darker inside, but the restaurant is filled with colorful chairs and benches. The salsa was the intro into this spot and it was very good. Nothing was overly prominent and was extremely well balanced. The chips were hot and perfect, not too thin or thick. We ordered the chicken fajitas, carne asada quesadilla, and a shredded beef enchilada. All three were incredibly delicious, and this is coming from someone who spent a few years in Houston, which is known for their incredible Tex-Mex and Mexican. What a hidden gem! We stopped by when we came into town for a museum and a festival, and we are so glad we did! Their food and drinks are delicious. They were PACKED at 1:30 on a Sunday, which absolutely says something. They probably could use one more server on such busy days, but you never really know what crowd to expect or what tourists (like us) will wander in. We decided to stop in and try the restaurant based on our kids experience from a different occasion. They knew what they were going to have from the last time they were there. One of my girls had the tacos with beans and rice. The other had the shredded burrito with rice and beans. I decided to try the combination plate which included a shredded beef burrito, chili relleno, and a beef enchilada . The rice and beans were good but I felt the sauce was a little bit watery than what I'm used to. Overall, I enjoyed the enchilada and burrito but the relleno was not light with the batter being heavier as I would have liked. The chips and salsa were good. The customer service was great and our server consistently checked in on us and refilled our drinks. I will probably give them a go in the future but overall it was okay. They didn't make the impression on me that they had on my kids. read more

My buddy and I ate here for dinner while in town on a business trip and were blown away! I'm from Houston but recently moved to Denver so I've been missing the amazing Tex-Mex and Mexican food back home for the past year. The minute I tried my first bite it was like I was transported back home. The quality and passion put into the seasoning and cooking of these dishes is abundantly apparent and I cannot recommend a trip to this restaurant highly enough. After driving all day long from Denver to Four Corners Monument we stopped in Farmington for the night. We arrived a little after 9:00. We were promptly greeted and had great service throughout our dinner. Margaritas really hit the spot. The chicken enchiladas with green sauce were delicious. My husband had the chicken fajitas and he said the chicken was great. One kid had the cheeseburger, the other had taquitos and they enjoyed their dinners. This food rocks!!! We had the Chicken Mole, Chile Verde, seafood burrito. All of it was delicious! Our food came out quickly and hot. Too bad they were sold out of the horchata The hostess was the only one who greeted us and she also took our order. It wasn't busy. Our server took 7 minutes to talk with the table next to us. She talked about the day and her plans for later. The server even though she was next to our table never greeted us at all. The server did drop down two of our plates while the hostess fished serving us. The server never checked on our table after we got our food. She was too busy living it up at the bar. Come for the food but don't have any expectations of the service. I feel sorry for the cook who puts in the time to make all this food just to have customers receive horrible service. I was back in town for my mom's bday and had a craving for tacos! We decided to hit up Que Rico and am so glad we did! The place is so festive inside and the staff are great! We had a party of 5 and we're seated right away. They have a great menu selection at prices that can't be beat. Our waitress was great! I felt like she could be my aunt! She was kind, funny, and gave food recommendations! She even brought out a complimentary flan for my mom! We had 3 different servers check on us and tend to our requests. Now for the food, Farmington seems to be low on the local restaurant options. They are overrun by chain restaurants:( so to find Que Rico was great! I ordered the shrimp and carne tacos! The shrimp tacos were delicious!! The carne Assad tacos were okay, the meat was a bit overcooked. The other folks ordered enchiladas and a burrito, all were fully consumed and enjoyed! Servers seemed to prefer the 80% Mexican patrons over the gringos but that 80% were Mexican tells you the quality and value of the food. I had the fish tacos. Different than I have found elsewhere; light in flavors, touches of lime, and a cream cheese middle - not too heavy, but helped hold it together. Not much to look at from the outside but looks are deceiving! Very friendly, attentive, good service. Had the deep fried tilapia rellena (stuffed with octopus, shrimp, and onions in a type of fra diavolo sauce). It tastes as good as it looks. My buddy had the carne asada which he thought was excellent also. Finished it off with a massive serving of the fried ice cream (unfortunately too impatient to get a photo). We rolled into Farmington later on a Monday evening, and a quick search of Yelp led us to Mmm Que Rico. We chuckled at the name, but once inside we knew they were serious about the food! We had chips an excellent home made salsa. My wife and daughters loved the margaritas so much they had two! My son loved the carne asada, and I loved my combo with the great mexican staples of chimichanga, enchilada and a sopita. Certainly a place we will stop the next time we are in Farmington. read more

Amazing! The salsa alone was worth the stop. The taco supreme was a lot of food with four steak tacos with avocado covered in red sauce. The steak a little well done for our taste, but every person is different in that regard. The burrito de carne molida was the best. I asked the waitress if the red sauce or green sauce would be better. She suggested the red is better with the ground beef but then offered to do half and half. Always take the waitress' suggestion! While the green sauce was good, the red sauce is a show stopper! We will definitely stop here anytime we are passing through. read more
