I wanted to like NMN Herbals, but my experience was disappointing. First red flag--this is a large salon with barely any foot traffic, yet it's appointment-only. It feels like they don't have enough staff to properly handle services. My pedicure was okay--she did a good job cleaning my toes--but overall it felt low effort. The "spa" portion was just warm water with a tea bag, and the gel was removed using a drill the entire time. The worst part was my eyebrows. As soon as another client came in, everything felt rushed. The wax was done quickly and harshly, and two days later my skin is still irritated. There was no real soothing care, and my brows weren't even cleaned up properly. I paid $25 and regret it. Honestly, every paying client deserves adequate time and care--no one wants to feel rushed, especially when it comes to beauty services. Whether it's a Groupon or full price, the experience should still be quality. Ladies do not go here and waste your money it's apparent they could care less about your skin and business. I had never had a pedicure before, but my feet were getting a little bit gnarly, so I decided to go in for one. I got a Groupon for this shop, and it was a wonderful experience. You do need to Make an appointment. I was about 15 minutes late for my appointment, but I called to let them know, and they said "no problem." It's in a strip mall, and there's plenty of parking. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but on the inside, it's big, and it's spotless. The person that did my pedicure, his name was Danny. He sat me down in a very comfortable massage chair, and I started with a hot soak for my feet, to soften them up. There was a lady in the chair right next to me also getting a pedicure, very friendly, and we just had a nice chat. I told her this was my first pedicure ever. She laughed, and said that she was a regular at this shop, and they always did good work. Danny did an excellent job. He started by clipping my nails, using the Emery board on my toenails. Sanding my heels, and he also used some kind of sanding material on the lower part of my legs and my ankles as part of the foot massage. The foot massage was wonderful. It included hot stones. I've had hot stone massage on my back before, and it was great. The stones felt wonderful on the top of my feet, but they were a bit much when he put them on the bottom of my feet, because they were very sensitive. That's OK. Now, I know. By the time I got out of the chair, I could feel my feet glowing. He did a wonderful job. The price of the Groupon, plus a nice tip for Danny, was very reasonable, even at full price, it would be worth it. I plan on coming back. Thank you. read more

Very clean inside. My pedicure looks nice as of right now. The massage was nice. My nail tech made good convo with me while she was with me. Decent color selection, but not over the top Cons: it didn't feel super kind and welcoming, the workers were a little rude, but nothing I couldn't handle. My wife and I got pedicures here today, and we were very pleasantly surprised! From the outside, it doesn't look like much (honestly, kinda rough lol), but inside? Totally different story. The salon is huge, beautifully decorated, and has a really elegant vibe. Super clean and welcoming! The shopkeepers are incredibly friendly, and the service was great. Absolutely the worst customer service my wife and I've ever experienced! My wife and I regularly go out for pedicures and usually have a great time being pampered, laughing and unwinding from our hectic lives. I set an appointment for 630pm (tried several different days and only late night appointments available) for pedicures for my wife and I. We arrived 7 minutes early because I respect people's time. We also noticed their sign that said "walk-ins welcome". We were scolded for being early and were grudgingly pointed to a place to wait. At around 710pm we were directed to the pedicure chairs....and sat there for another 30 minutes with zero interaction. So, and hour and 10 minutes after our appointment they came over and started to work on us. A very nice young lady was about to start on my wife, when the older woman shoed her away to work on me instead. I think it was because my toenails were extra long (I already tip well, but was adding an extra $10 to my usual very good tip, considering it hazard pay ). I lucked out, because the one working on me was very good at what she does! My wife had the grumpy one. I've been going here for a while because the prices were overall pretty reasonable. Lately though, my gel manicures are lucky to last a week before they start chipping. I've always had gel and dip last for at least 3 weeks. I came in for a gel mani pedi not long ago, and my nails started chipping just over a week later and my pedi did not last long either. I usually can get weeks out of a gel pedi, but I got maybe 2 weeks. I paid $90 for both. ($40 mani $50 pedi) I had also removed my own polish prior to save money. The second time I went in, I was only charged $30 for the mani, and they removed old polish. But the longevity of their gel just isn't good. I get more out of doing my nails at home quite honestly. read more

The absolute worst experience I've had at a nail salon. It took days to get an appointment because they just don't answer the phone. I finally get in for a 10:30am appointment and I get there and they are doing construction above the pedicure chairs. She told me to come back at 1:00. Unfortunately I would NOT recommend this place. I'm not sure about other employees, but definitely stay away from Michael. For a $40 Groupon, (regularly priced $50), this pedicure was one of the most rushed I've ever had and he did a very poor job. He didn't bother to get the dead skin off my cuticles or rub my feet or legs. The pedicure was less than 25 minutes while my friend who was right next to me and had the same Groupon had a 35 minute pedicure (which still seems quite short for a "deluxe" pedicure). His painting job was poor and he had to redo it three times, getting frustrated at me when I asked for it to be fixed. He kept painting over the dead cuticle, which could've been resolved by just taking care of them as he should have with a pedicure. After three tries of paining, I am still not happy with how they turned out and I did not feel refreshed or rejuvenated after this experience as I usually do with pedicures. I have gone to salons for over 20 years and never have put in any bad reviews or even had such a bad experience to take time out of my day to write one. This was the most horrible pedicure experience and want to make sure people know what they are getting into walking into this place for a pedicure from Kim or the older man. Customer service is non existent, they try to find any reason to charge extra. If you point out a problem or something you don't like the owner will get an attitude and will charge extra for having to remove the polish and re-do/fix their own mess that they made. Booked 2 gel pedicures and ended up with a ridiculous mess. The gel all over the skin, bumps and uneven overall with air pockets lifting before we left the pedicure chair. I was pointed to a chair, without direction on how to use the chair or treated with any real hospitality. Once she began it was like it was a race.. Massage was less than 4mins. The rocks were too hot for her to handle so she barely touched me with them. At one point a rusty cheese grater was used on my heels. Kinda hurt at one point. The eyelashes looked nice for a couple days and then they started to fall out. It has been less than two weeks and they are almost all gone. I love getting my nails done here. This place is spacious, clean, doesn't smell like chemicals, and is really cute inside! For pedicures they use tea in the foot soak. The pedicurist did a really careful job of painting my nails and they look great (much better than other pedicures I've gotten). They offer Groupons sometimes and that's how I found this place. So far it's the best place I've been to in the sacramento area. I highly recommend! Just come try them out, it's a really nice experience and atmosphere. read more
