A couple weeks ago my boyfriend and I set up an appointment to get our nails done. As soon as we arrived they had us sanitize our hands, checked our temperatures, we signed wavers specifying we didn't have COVID and even gave us water bottles! My boyfriend had a pedicure and I came in for a fill. After looking through their huge selection of colors I went with Cashmere Cutie by IBD Beauty which was labeled under M 5 at the salon and Gelish Professional which was labeled under M14 at the salon as a glitter accent nail. My acrylic nails are almond shaped, which I would recommend if you want your nails to look long, slender and very feminine! My nail technician Mart Tran really took his time to make sure my cuticles were nice and did a nice job with filing everything down as well! I would recommend this salon, they have the best prices around and take their time so you will have the best experience! I went to Elegant Nails a few times. The people that work there are nice. Mot did my nails two times. He was really detail oriented. I've never had a manicure that was over an hour plus. He massaged my hand with oil after. I really liked that. The last time I went I didn't request Mot. Tina did my nails. She was good. I'm not used to a girl doing my nails. Some programming was on. I am only giving four stars because the space was cluttered and I felt it was too small. The place I went before was extremely spacious. I really like the people that work there. On time service, good finished product and reasonable prices. That's why I keep coming back. A bit run down and showing its dust, it's not flashy by any means. They have a ton of regulars so make sure that you call ahead and make an appointment as I have seen drop ins turned away because they are so busy. However yesterday I was upcharged an additional $5 for putting powder on one of my nails. I was asked if I wanted this additional service since this nail in question consistently splits. My pet peeve: giving a service without letting the client know what the additional cost will be. As of this writing, gel manicures are only $20 so having an additional 25% tacked on for ONE nail ("just one" - inside joke) seems outrageous to me to have powder added. Had I known I would NOT have gotten this done. I should have balked but I was more in disbelief. I guess my manicure trust was ruined. Yes this is a thing. I will most likely return since it is conveniently located close to chez moi, but will be questioning every single procedure. Something that I feel I shouldn't have to do. Is this common practice amongst nail places? If I find another spot that is similar but has more nail integrity, I will happily switch. read more

I have been to this salon many times, especially before the pandemic. At that time, they had several people working there, but now it is only the husband and wife. I will not let the husband work on me at all because he gave me a manicure and hurt me three times despite me asking him to be careful so I will never let him work on me again. I've been coming to this salon for years Bc it was close to my house. They always take their time and do a great job. They charge less than other salon places. This place has a homey vibe. This past Tuesday I called in to see if they could take 2 pedicures. We scheduled an appointment and came in. There was only 2 people working (so different than pre covid). My husband and I were seating in massage chairs and were given a lot of attention to during the pedicure. It was my husbands first time!! But they were so nice and reassuring! (Haha! He actually enjoyed it!) My favorite manicurist is Mot! He takes so much care with each nail and is very gentle. If you want a quiet -more family style nail place, this is it. read more

I went here almost 2 weeks ago on a Friday afternoon to get a gel manicure. By Saturday afternoon 4 of my nails were already chipped/ peeled!! I could nit believe it. I called them and they offered me to go back on Sunday and fix it at no cost. I have to say that they are nice and responsible. However, the sane person fixed those 4 nails and no wonder that after 2 days almost all the gels were peeled!! First of all I expected someone else to fix my nail the second time that I went in. I've been coming here for almost 7 months now! They always do a wonderful job and at very low prices, compared to some other salons! I recommend calling for an appointment, every time I've had an appointment there's no wait and I'm in the chair almost as soon as I arrive. They've taken good covid precautions as well as they take your temperature when you arrive, ask that you sanitize your hands, and have you fill out a waiver before beginning. They also require masks and have dividers between the stations. I always leave happy with my nails. The only con I would note is their nail art options are limited. I went to this establishment the other day for a pedicure. I walked into the salon and it was dirty looking.. I didn't want to judge based on the look's because sometimes hole in walls are great. Apparently they were busy but I did not get that feeling. The male took me anyways and started to get the tub ready. I sat down, it took 15 for him to get started. As he was prepping my toes he gets up and starts fiddling with the schedule book for 25 minutes. I guess he was running late? However if he continues with my toes maybe he wouldn't run late. And proceeded to call a client to come in but kept changing the times for them. Mind you the conversation was on speaker phone. When he hangs up the lady and male started yelling at each other for 10 minutes.. and he points towards my way. I'm assuming it's because I was a walk in. Had I known I'd be an inconvenience they could have told me another time. When he was doing my toes he kept using his disgusting long nail to get under my nails to clean whatever. So gross. The lady had a client that looked like she didn't really want to talk because she had headphones on, the lady talked so loud I was able to hear her conversation with her client. She was talking shit about other clients and even naming them!! So unprofessional. I was so over this place. I will never go here again. Update: my GEL pedicure is chipping after 14 days. Other places I go my nails last a month and a half. I'm very disappointed and will never ever go here again. read more

As the dead skin is pumiced off my feet, my back gets a nice, deep tissue massage from the reclining chair and I'm humored by the America's Got Talent marathon on TV. While visiting in the area, we made an appointment for two pedicures. This place was quite busy with several people working and walk-ins continually. It seems that most of the staff here do not speak English so not a lot of conversation going on, although there did seem to be a couple of 'regulars' in at the time of our visit which is reassuring. We were seated in some older stations that were not in the best physical condition, but they did have the 'back massage' option which is nice. One young woman filled the basins and we were left to soak for a bit. She returned and was working on my friend and I had an older woman. The pedicure was just OK. They don't give you that nice leg and foot massage that I have become accustomed to at my 'regular' place. They did give the heels a good scrubbing but I noticed they do not use any disposable items meaning who knows what is embedded on the file. The young woman cut my friends foot to a degree that she ended up with an infection. Both these items makes me concerned as to the sterility of their equipment and the skill of their staff. My pedi looked fine, but by the next morning some of the polish was already peeling. In three days all but 3 toes were completely bare of polish. I chose this location based on the reviews and had high hopes but based on the quality of my experience I can not recommend this venue, at least for the pedicure. read more

The man soaked my hand in acetone after i asked for foils with cotton balls. I have an open wound in two fingers from a dog bite. He yelled and me and physically grabbed my hand and forced it down in the bowl. Then, while doing my nails, he kept using his NASTY, BLACK, long thumb nail to dig the paint overage out from under my skin and nail bed. I asked that he use something sanitary and he refused. Then the lady came and took over AND PROCEEDED TO DO THE SAME NASTY THING. Finally, the paint i chose was out. So, i chose another and it was old, crusty, and they poured acetone in it which is also gross. Finally, they refused to do my ring finger design leaving me with one diff. color nail without any design. The design was requested and discussed before my service began. The salon is DIRTY. I am almost 40yrs old and have never considered writing the health department against any of the hundreds of salons over the years, but this will be a first. Note: she did offer to charge me $25.00 total, so i laid down $41 in cash and left while the woman chased me out running and demanding that i take my chang in lieu of filing a health and sanitation complaint read more

I am VERY picky with my nails and I LOVE this place. I come to visit Sacramento every few months and always make a trip here for a gel manicure. I'm NOT kidding they are the best, longest lasting manicure I've ever found. I travel a lot and have been to many places, they win. I have no clue why they charge so little. I would pay $50 for a manicure here. My lady in San Diego charges $60 and she's not near as good. It's a gem. And the service is incredible. read more

She did a great job on my mani pedi but it cut hours out my day I didn't have so I ran late but it was well worth it the time spent. If your looking for modern look elsewhere. However if your looking for a perfect mani pedi that is long and relaxing with a great massage. It feels like a true spa experience. I came out today with beautiful hands and toes. I got a full set with gel for $27. Not only is the price amazing, but so is the customer service. Upon arriving they offered me and my friend cold water bottles. And helped me choose a "neutral" color that I liked. The man doing my nails spent time doing it. He wasn't rushing. He always asked and made sure he wasn't hurting me at all. I came here about 2 weeks ago to get a Shellac manicure. My coworker and I were greeted right away by My who is the owner of Elegant Nails. Mot took off my existing Shellac polish while I waited for My to finish up with her customer. Once My was ready, she walked me over to her station and brought me a bottle of water. She was very friendly! We talked and laughed the whole entire time she was doing my nails. She did a great job too, not rushing through the manicure as some places do. I asked how much the extra charge would be to get French tips and she said there was no extra charge. Shellac manicures at only $20? Sweet! That is unheard of in the Bay Area (where I am from). I'm currently sitting here getting my pedicure and I couldn't wait to write this review. I also just got a gel French Tip manicure and I love it! I've been looking for a nail salon that provides quality and won't leave me bankrupt - which is hard to find these days! Especially with a week in between as today is the only free day. Walking in I was greeted with a smile and asked for a brochure with their prices, I'll post a picture! I was seated and they gave me an iced cold water bottle while waiting :) The husband did my manicure and it was probably the best manicure I've ever gotten! There was absolutely no rush in what he was doing and frequently asked me if what he was doing was what I wanted. I also posted a picture of the outcome I'm very happy about! The wife is currently doing my pedicure and was apologetic about me waiting (which wasn't that long) due to another customer asking for another coat. It's nice to know how genuinely nice they are towards their customers. While doing my toes she made small talk about the wedding and just like her husband, she frequently asked if I liked the direction she was going in. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars instead of 1 or 2 is because of Kim. I never had a bad experience with her. She was very gentle and was very good at making sure I liked my nails every step of the way. I'll also say, their prices can't be beaten. It seems like they've stayed the same for a very long time ($20 for a full acrylic set, $15 for a fill) which leads me into my next point. The last time I went (about a week ago), I was getting a full set because money had been a bit tight so I stopped going for a bit. Instead of Kim, my appointment had been made with the man that works there. I did not catch his name, unfortunately, but he was skinny, older, and Asian. I had an awful experience. He was extremely rough when filing the top of the nail; he was using a rough emery board and using it on the top of my nail, and he kept filing my cuticle and the skin under my nail!! After the appointment I had little red raw patches underneath my nails, and one finger even had a small open wound that wasn't there before, like a scratch. Also, I don't know what he did differently than Kim, but my polish is already starting to wear off on the tops and edges of my nails after a week. I've never had that happen, and I used the same polish and everything. Then when it came time to pay, I pulled out my cash. (Tip: They do accept cards, but grudgingly. Bring cash). I had budgeted $25 ($20 for the set and a $5 tip). After how rough he was on my hands, I felt like he really didn't deserve a tip at all, but I support supporting small businesses. He told me it would be $23 for a full set, which seemed odd to me because just a month ago it was $20, and from what I've seen, their prices NEVER change. Also, the price list on their wall and in their brochure still states $20. So I said okay, and apologetically told him I would have to do a $2 tip then, as I had only budgeted $25 and I really couldn't exceed that. I reiterated that twice and it seemed to me that he understood that. He took my cash, gave me my change, I went and dried my nails, and was on my merry way. Once I got home I was counting my cash and realized something seemed off. I went over all my transactions and realized that he had taken a $5 tip despite me telling him only $2. That, in addition to my suspicion that he raised the price on me all of a sudden, have ensured that I will not be going back here. Very disappointed. I was happy to be supporting a small business but not if they cheat their customers. read more
