Known for American Pancakes, "the juiciest juices and a cool vibe" MOAK Pancakes dates back to 2016, the original name MOOK abandoned to add an "A for Amsterdam" while nomenclature embraces hip-hop and rap references from the late-90s. Spread across two stories with service that trends "American Gen Z," IE a wait at the unmanned podium lasting several minutes despite the Restaurant being 10% full on Sunday, staff wonders around with iPads for ordering while Biggie and Nas take turns overhead. Clever across the menu, a €100 stack on Versace plates clearly targeting Social Media, Coffee proves fairly basic while the Pancakes themselves are akin to those at Denny's with clever toppings like secret-recipe Saffron Pistachio Ice Cream or Fruits intended to elevate. Serving pure Canadian Maple Syrup, but so limited one can barely taste it and staff reluctant to offer more, menus offer a QR code for those desiring a franchise but in a city with more than enough Pancake houses offering better quality this one just feels like a gimmick targeting folks who fancy IHOP but need a photo for the #gram.

Really bad tasting pancakes that were also incredibly overpriced! Waste of time and money! Cool ambiance though and the service wasn't bad!

Pancake stack with bacon and cheese! Delicious!

Talk about a scrumptious breakfast! Who knew traveling to Amsterdam would get me a pancake stack with bacon in between the pancakes! Soooooo delicious! They make their own syrup which was so tasty. Enjoyed with a cappuccino, so my meal was complete. The server was new, but did her best, and my order was perfect. If you're not familiar with Amsterdam, you'll know that the restaurants are not very spacious, so things get tight, and loud. But overall, it wasn't a bother. Lived it all!

Husband wanted an American breakfast so he picked this place. Cute place with fine service but the food and coffee were underwhelming. Not sure why the ratings are so high to be honest.

My visit to MOAK was actually a Plan B, when the restaurant I planned to visit had no availability for hours. But it all worked out. Service at MOAK was friendly, helpful and efficient. I probably put my server on the spot when I asked about his favorite pancake. What I chose was jam-packed with fresh fruit, chocolate, cinnamon and peanut butter. A friend described it as "decadent". OK then. The vibe of the restaurant is a comfortable mix of modern and historic. I would definitely return to try more of the menu.

The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and the toilet was an added treat!! The blue magic pancakes were to die for and the apple juice was fresh. I love how you can get a free wellness shot if you follow them!! Cool restaurant the vibes were high.

Popped in here and got our fill! This spot is definitely serving hearty portions, which was appreciated as we were STARVING. I loved my pancakes that were a mix of savory and sweet - the ones with cheese and onions may seem weird, but it was actually awesome. Don't sleep on that one. My husband loved his avocado toast. The vibes are fun and the outside line actually moved quite quickly, so don't be too deterred by it. Definitely a great breakfast / brunch spot!

The aesthetic for this restaurant is so cute! I got the vegalicious pancakes. I've never had pancakes with hummus, but the combo worked surprisingly well. I wish there were more veggies, but overall this was great for the value. The staff was also super friendly, and this was one of the few places in Amsterdam I found that serves tap water.

Food was phenomenal and great prices for everyone's budget I enjoyed the message and the wutang the juices were fresh and the maple latte was to die for great environment CARD ONLY

Being from the US- I can confidently the American pancakes are NOT American (100% sugar free and served oddly lukewarm?). When we came here we were looking for a sweet pancake, but even with the chocolate sauce and berries this didn't do it for me. Also, had a problem with the temperature we received the dish at. The "Me, Myself and I" (scrambled eggs & cheese on toast) was really solid. The eggs were great and the bread was quite delicious especially with the olive oil and salt. I think if you go here the toasts outdo the pancakes.

When we arrived and hiked upstairs, yes it's a hike straight up steep stairs, only to see the sign "fully booked" womp womp. HOWEVER, we asked if there was a waiting list because we didn't realize reservations are basically necessary. WE GOT LUCKY as a table was available because someone didn't show for their reservations!! We ordered the special of the day, blueberry & cream, and a bacon, cheese and apple pancake. Quickly cooked up and served and boy were they both delicious! I also didn't know it was a cash only establishment or debit card. Whom I presume was the owner was so sweet and again luckily our US credit card could be processed as debit. Saved me from having to do dish duty! Definitely a must do in Amsterdam but make a reservation and carry cash! We were there the day after Kings day and it was a lovely morning. The weather was cool, but not cold and we were able to enjoy the nice breeze and canal boats passing by. I was also able to connect to the WiFi from the Casino across the river. It was weak, but still worked. We were seated outside and waited almost 10 minutes before anyone came by to take our order for food and drinks. We ordered the banana crepe to share and I got a coffee while my wife ordered the pear juice. The pair juice comes from a bottle. The coffee was served in a small cup and was ok. I am used to drinking it with cream and sweetener. But Europeans don't have these items, so I just drank it with sugar. I think we waited almost 30 minutes before our food came out. Now, we only ordered crepes with bananas inside. Usually at the mall, it takes a few minutes to make crepes. I don't know how it took almost 30 minutes for them to make 1 item. Mind you, the place was not full when we came, so I don't understand how long we had to wait for our server to order our food and why it took so long for them to make our food. Once it finally came out, I thought the crepe was good, but not out of your mind fantastic. It's just basic tbh. Will I ever come back, probably not due to the wait time and the food wasn't all that great.
