During the inspection, Kait (unsure of his full name) claimed that my brake pads were dangerously thin and needed immediate replacement. I told him I had no braking issues, and my car had not shown any warning lights. He dismissed that and warned me that if I did not change them within the week, I might face brake failure. This is a serious claim. I asked for a quote but also mentioned that I wanted a second opinion since I am not a car guy. He then doubled down on the scare tactics and urged me to act fast to avoid an accident. After work, I went to a friend's place who knows cars. He checked my front and rear brake pads thoroughly, had me turn the wheel for a better view, and confirmed that I had at least 30 to 40% pad life remaining. That is a massive difference from being told I could crash within a week due to break failure. Either this technician does not know how to assess brake wear properly, or worse, he deliberately exaggerated the issue to push an unnecessary sale. Other guys at that location have been very nice and that's why I kept going back to the same location.

My cousin works for the government and all their company vehicles are serviced by Crompton Bros. In the past, trying to find a mechanic that would listen to me was extremely frustrating and just recently the problems with my vehicle finally manifested itself where my vehicle was running really rough and developed a loud humming/whining noise that would come on when I drove for long periods at a time which was very concerning as I felt that my engine was going to blow up or seize on me. Derrick, the mechanic at Crompton Bros treated me with the upmost respect and took the time to really listen to my concerns. After diagnosing my vehicle, Derrick explained in great detail, the issues with my vehicle, the cost of repairs and he was very accommodating with working around my schedule. I am very happy and relieved that my vehicle is finally operating in a proper and safe manner where I can now drive without frazzled nerves wondering if this was the day my vehicle would breakdown. I am extremely grateful and pleased with the staff at Crompton Bros as they went above and beyond with the repairs to my vehicle and also with their excellent customer service. As a woman, I have not experienced this type of professionalism for at least 20 years. The repair costs were very fair and reasonable and all parts installed are dealership parts not after market parts which tend to be faulty and it was discovered by Derrick that a faulty temperature gauge that was recently installed by another repair shop was one of the issues regarding the poor operation of my vehicle. Brought my car into Raj after being recommended him by another mechanic I know…read more I was smelling smoke in my car and Raj said it was probably the flex joint when I dropped it in. Apart from the smell the car was driving perfectly. He quoted me 400-500 to fix it and said I would have the car back in a day. The next day I called Raj to ask for a pick up time. He said he was really busy and my car was still sitting in the yard but he would have it done by EOD. I called him later that day, he said the car was still sitting in the yard and he wouldnt get to it until the next day. At this point I was annoyed but he said it would be done by noon the next day so I said OK. The next day before noon I rang to make sure the car was ready. Again Raj said he was busy and hadnt gotten to it. I needed the car so was very frustrated. He said it would be done by 5pm. He called me at 4:50pm saying the car was ready and to come out. When I got to the shop it appeared my car was still being worked on. Raj had pulled out the filters of my car and the sparkplugs. He said it all needed to be repaired and I needed an oil change. I was shocked as I hadnt given him permission to pull anything from my car. He said he would have to replace the sparkplugs and do an oil change. Also the original work was now more expensive than he thought and overall the work would be 1200 dollars. So 800 more than originally quoted and 2 days late. It took him 2 more hours to finish the work and then I finally got the car back. I am a first time car owner and I am sure Raj was just trying to take advantage of me. I have no experience with mechanics but I know this is not normal even in general customer service. It was all a show he was saying how bad my filters were, how the spark plugs needed replacing and oil was leaking into them. I will attached photos so everyone can see how ridiculous his claims were. Would not recommend ever and would really advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs.

This is a warning to NOT buy any vehicles from this place. My son bought his first vehicle from…read morethem with his own money he saved over MANY years at the end of June. Right away we had to replace front and back brakes, locks didn't work, they had another key made for us...it worked for a short time. Navigation system didn't work therefore A/C and heating control wouldn't work, he took money off for that, but I think that was a cover up as it turns out the compressor had failed so the A/C wouldn't work. So my son had to replace that as well. Then Alternator went followed by the belt. The paint has started flaking off, turns out they painted over top of paint without proper preparation. This vehicle has been in and out of the shop non stop since he bought it, it's become quite depressing for him and stressful being only 17 going to school and trying to work many hours just to pay for these repairs. The car broke down on him in Burnaby when he was working and we had to tow it to our house. Turns out there was a jumper cable on the transmission which was covering up a problem with the transmission. We took the car into a Transmission shop and they said the car is a nightmare, the entire transmission needs to be replaced. We decided to take to Acura in Langley for a second opinion they had two page list on the problems with this car including full transmission replacement. We should have had this vehicle checked out by an honest mechanic or BCAA...lesson learned. Don't let this happen to you! Steer clear of this place!!!
