Teddy is the best. I am the stereotypical (not white hair, it's multicolored grey) grandma. The one who knows enough about computers to proof documents, send emails and watch YouTube. Teddy was great!! I have a Samsung 10 and needed the battery replaced. No one else could help, claiming that they could not get a battery. Not Teddy. He said he would have to order the battery. I met with him on the 6th of August, and he had my battery by the 10th, he let me know that it would take about an hour to replace the battery. I let him know that I would wait and would bring a book to read. I went in on the 11th and read my book, relaxing in the chair in the lobby. And, it only took 45 minutes! My phone is operating like it is brand new. He also gave me tips on how to preserve the battery. The location is a bit hard to find, but worth the drive from Belmont and time it took to find it. Fast, courteous, got the job done. Highly recommend. My screen broke on my iPhone, and he took care of me and did all the testing to make sure my warranty stayed intact. The environment is cheap looking, but whatever. If I break another screen, I'll skip the genius bar and come back to this place. It's a small chain. I have dropped into the San Mateo Mobile Kangaroo store a couple of times to get a battery installed in my Samsung smartphone. However, a couple of Fridays ago, I went into a panic... late in the afternoon, my laptop's hard drive dumped. I drove straight to Mobile Kangaroo. Ted checked my Levono Slim Pro 7 and surmised for some reason the hard drive erased all data on my computer. It was Friday and he would need a couple of days to do a complete diagnostic. OK. Late Monday afternoon, Ted had finished working on my laptop and I drove back to his shop. When I met Ted, he said the hard drive had been wiped clean. It was now ready to reboot. He was hopeful that I could recover some files after installing Windows 11 and Microsoft Office when I got home. Ted suggested that I text him if I encountered any difficulties while rebooting my laptop. Things worked out as he predicted. I got my documents and photos back. Hallelujah! While many tech savvy folks could have performed the same services I received at Mobile Kangaroo, I can unequivocally recommend Ted at Mobile Kangaroo in San Mateo. He is super competent and very friendly. Ted takes a genuine interest in his customers and truly wants to solve whatever problems they are having with their own devices. I can't recommend Mobile Kangaroo enough! I wish more businesses could operate the way that they do. This is the second time that I have used Mobile Kangaroo to repair a crack on my macbook screen (I have kids who periodically hijack my computer!). Both times my experience with them was simply seamless, efficient, and with great customer service. I scheduled the appointment online through their website, and went at the allotted time to drop off my laptop. This was Friday afternoon. I shared what was wrong and completed something quick via text to get the service going. I was out of there in no time. I was told that due to the courier service needed for the part, I might not get back my laptop until the following Tuesday, but by Monday afternoon I already received a text saying my laptop was good to go, and ready to be picked up! It is so inconvenient to be without my laptop, so having them be so fast and effective was extra appreciated. 5 star review is for the customer service. I had the unfortunate mishap of spilling water all over my laptop and completely fried the internal keyboard. I made an appointment at Mobile Kangaroo to see if there was any salvaging of the equipment. The guy that helped me let me know the estimated cost of fixing my laptop but let me know that there was a chance additional damages would be uncovered as they were going through the repairs and that if that was the case, additional costs would be incurred. And since my laptop was also out of warranty....well that could be a pretty costly bill. Since the laptop in question was actually my work laptop, I had to make a couple of calls to figure out how to move forward and the guy was super patient and let me take as long as I needed. He was also available to answer any additional questions I had. In the end, I decided not to get my laptop fixed so I can't speak to the quality of the actual repairs they do here but I was very happy with the service I received and would be completely confident coming back here the next time I need a repair done. If I could give 10 stars I would. I am so pleased with how quick, efficient, and cost-effective they were in servicing my MacBook, which had water damage. They diagnosed the problem to a corroded sensor, and replaced just that part for much less than I had expected given that I did not have AppleCare. I've owned this phone for more than 4 years and it has served me well--until my phone stopped holding my charge after a couple of hours. I decided to replace the battery and not buy a new phone. I sent a message through the Yelp app for a quote and I received a reply within an hour. Battery replacement for $69--it seems to be reasonable. I was told it could drop it off right away and it would be done same day, in about an hour, so I did just that...drove to their shop and it only took 45 minutes to replace the battery. I don't often write reviews but was compelled to do so because of the excellent experience at Mobile Kangaroo. My beloved 2015 iMac (27"- 4T fusion drive) crashed likely related to a hardware issue. Apple referred me to Mobile Kangaroo since the iMac was a legacy computer (Apple's word for old). I was greeted at the door by a very knowledgeable gentleman who said following diagnostics he would let me know the options. End of story - the SATA drive was replaced and following an install of a Time Machine backup the computer works perfectly and is faster than the original. One more comment - as I was leaving the store with my iMac the gentleman saw that I was struggling to pickup the computer so he offered to carry it to my car 1/2 blocks away - Wow! Mobile Kangaroo is now my go to place for device repair. read more

My MacAir froze into the black screen, and I couldn't get it to start regardless of how many times I tried to resolve (following suggestions online among Mac users). Appointments at the Genius bar were days in advance. I was desperate. Through the Support page on Apple, I made an appointment to take my computer to Mobile Kangaroo the same day. And lickety split I was at their shop. Martin Sanchez, the Master Technician, took my computer, did a hard re-set, and voila, it worked! He also cleaned the port where the charger goes. And he showed me step-by-step how to fix this problem should it occur again. When I asked him how much fixing my MacAir cost, he said no charge, part of the service (with a smile, no less). I was out of there in mere minutes! What an absolutely pleasant experience! Can't say how much I appreciate him and Mobile Kangaroo for the help. My most recent issue was my MacBook Pro (battery issue). Chatted with Apple and was told I would need to bring it in for repair. Went to mobile Kangaroo bc they are an authorized repair place. Edmond diagnosed the issue quickly and identified another issue that I was unaware of. He informed me that both were recall issues, so the repair was covered. He had to order the part, which came in the next business day and my repair was finished that day as well. So very pleased with the customer service I received. We showed up at 10:12. Filled out paperwork to have iPhone repaired. And someone walked in at 10:18 for a 10:30 appointment. Only had one screen for same phone we did. And after all that, said he couldn't help us. We drove here and were outside when he opened. We were being taken care of BEFORE THE OTHER CUSTOMER, even shows ... and THEN WE ARE REJECTED. Uncool.
