Don't go here unless you have infinite useless money to spend. Here they charge $160 per hour of work, and on top of that they charge you for every little thing they can think of. That includes a $90 fee to just test an aftermarket radio (not even put it into a car). They do a good job at making things look nice and hiding wiring. But at the same time they do stuff in a way that makes you have to come back if you want anything changed. An example of this is I came in and asked them to run one wire through my dash to an aftermarket switch for some LED lights and I would do the rest of the job myself, they agreed and charged me $180 to run the wire. But they ended up running the wrong wire through due to a communication error, but instead of fixing it the way I wanted they only offered to finish the job (which they charged another $420 for). On top of this the guy who ran the wrong wire through my dash was very degrading when talking to me, and he was not understanding at all when I was trying to explain that it was not what I wanted. Another example of them making you come back is when installing my lights the they shortened the length of the wire on my top roof rack, which makes it so that I have go and get it rewired if I ever want to move my roof rack. It feels like some sketchy practices are going on at this establishment and I'm very disappointed with the money it felt like I wasted at this place. I will definitely never be going back here. Save your money and go somewhere else to get a stereo installed into your car. The only saving grace of this place is Cameron who works at the front desk, he's a nice and personable guy who can answer any of your questions. read more

I had a great experience with Mobile Music Unlimited in Bellingham! I dropped my car off early before they opened, and the key drop was easy to find. I left my info with the keys and went on my way, super convenient. When I came back a few hours later, they immediately knew who I was, even though we hadn't met before. The team was friendly, humorous, and easy to talk to. I'm very pleased with the installation of my front and rear dash cameras something I've wanted for years! I brought my vehicle in and when it was all said and done, I paid over $500 to have a push Start and remote start installed. In the days following the installation, my car began wigging out electrically. The Lights began blinking when the car was off, a ticking sound started occurring. It wouldn't start at a distance any longer.. The list goes on and on. I brought it back in. He said it should all be good now. The issue continued occurring from the moment I left, again. I called him back to tell him my car is still wigging out. He never even offered a solution. Just "Well, let me contact the remote car start push button that you bought and I'll get back to you". I never heard back from him since. I have been stranded twice now being that my car has started even after I turned it off and walked away, leading all of the gas to run out as well as power. Ihave a six year old son where both times we've have both been stranded together. I am looking into a lawyer now. read more

Mobile Music way overcharged me. i needed a new monitor for my back up camera and new lights for my rear brake lights. My appointment was at the Burlington location, but i ended up later dealing with the Bellingham manager, Sterling, instead. Here's what happened: They did not give me an estimate ahead of time. i had no idea they charge around $100 an hour. i was shocked when the bill was suddenly over $400, AND, my break lights, were still not working. It was very confusing. Mobile Music informed me that they could not do anything about my back lights after all. They said i would have to go elsewhere, because the housing needed to be replaced. So, apparently they were charging me for three hours of time, wherein they had tried to "clean" out my housing to get it to work....?? When, they could have just discovered from the beginning that i needed a new housing. Why take several hours to "clean" something without communicating the options? i felt like they were taking advantage of me, as i was alone, a disabled woman in a wheelchair. i told the manager, Cameron, that in no way did i expect the bill to be so high. The only estimate i got was about one week prior to my appointment, and that was for the monitor, which was going to be around $30. But on the day my appointment came, they informed me that they only had a larger monitor, for around $50. i was fine with that. But then, i was shocked at the $400+ bill, especially since they were unable to get my rear lights in. i was expecting a bill around $100, maybe $200 if the rear lights were in. After protesting to the exorbitant bill, Cameron took off an extra charge that he said they "always" give customers, around $40. So, then my bill was right under $400. i paid it.... however, being a tbi survivor, i was not thinking straight, so when i paid, it overdrafted my account. Later, i contacted the company thru their website, saying i wanted to speak with the regional manager or owner. Mobile Music has a few locations. But the person who called me back, was that same guy, Cameron, who i felt had taken advantage of me. Eventually i was able to work thru the Bellingham location's manager, Sterling. He is very nice and tried to help the situation. But it was a long, drawn out, confusing process of several emails and phone calls. Guess i kinda had to be a Karen, trying to stick up for myself. They would not budge on the hours it took for them to "clean" my broken housing. But, finally, after several weeks of trying, Sterling cut me a check for around $60. Still, a horrible experience. i feel that they ripped me off, and now, every time i pass by Mobile Music, i get an awful pit in my stomach. Maybe i should have gone to the Better Business Bureau from the beginning. read more

I just have to say Cameron has been nothing short of amazing and deserves all of the praise. I came in to get leather upholstery installed in my SUV I just purchased through a local dealership. Part of my deal was to have the leather installed, and long story short it's turned into a giant mess with said dealership being shady, and backing out on their end of the deal. Cameron has been an amazing advocate for us and so extremely helpful. I can't even begin to describe what an amazing job he has been doing in such a messy situation, which didn't even involve him. UNTRUSTWORTHY. They cheated me. If there were negative stars I would give them that. I had no problems with the electrical system in my car for years until I went to Mobile Music to fix a remote entry system and a sensor. Long story short After a week or so the electrical system totally failed. They took two -three weeks to "diagnose" the issue, and then said that they will not pay for any repairs on my car and that nothing was their fault. Now they are also dragging their feet to say if they will refund me for the components that they put in. It was a total loss for me, the parts, their installation price and the repairs I will incur because of them.i know it was them because they were the only one's that needed to go through my electrical system in my car. The service center at the Audi dealership tells me it was their fault. The person at the store always says his "boss" doesn't answer him in a timely fashion and had no problems delaying and denying, Try another place if you need anything installed. Tried to get a unique install done, so called first and followed up with an email. I didn't get a response, so I went in-person and was told they wouldn't do it. I have no qualms with refusing work, but get off your bum and follow-through with a return message instead of me showing up. The irony of the situation is that I was told they could help me with future stuff. I responded that wasting my time doesn't encourage me to come back. I'm seeing a pattern in their recent reviews. Never once was there an up-sale or push any high profit bells and whistles. They did an awesome job of finding the perfect solution for what I was looking for. Sterling and his team here do a solid job -- they've helped me twice. First, restoring my leased car back to factory standards so I could return it, and second, upgrading my 2004 Sienna to have my Carplay system, including a backup cam and steering wheel controls and the like. Prices are what they are -- this is annoying, fiddly, MacGyver like work, and it takes a certain type of skill to make a car do things it was never designed to do, and still look solid doing it. Totally disorganized. Dropped my truck off at 9:15am for a noon appointment. 2 to 3 hour job. I started calling at 3:30pm to see if it was ready. No answer. Called many times. No answer. I get a ride at 4:30pm to see my truck sitting outside untouched. They are closed. They were suppose to be open until 6pm. When I finally talked to someone they said I no showed. They had my key and I signed a work order so not sure how I no showed. My truck was sitting outside their f....ing front door from 9:15am to 4:45pm. They could not find the paper work in the morning when I was checking in. Then again when the work was supposed to be done they lost it or overlooked it. Wasted my time. Had to get rides to drop it off and pick up. Wow. My truck was sitting outside their front door all day and no one noticed. Not in the parking lot but the spot just outside their doors. I guess they were all in a hurry to start partying on new years. They could not have been that busy since they closed early. So when you all bolted no one notice the Tacoma parked by the front doors? The Tacoma that no showed? The Tacoma you were waiting for. How blind and unaware do these people have to be. They had me pay a $100 deposit for the job to insure I showed up. Not only did I show up, I left my key and signed a work order. Then they lost it, closed early and took off. Stuff happens but this is totally unacceptable. To lose a work order when a customer drops the auto off is one thing. Then close early at 3pm and leave me stuck without transportation is unreal. They had my key. It was Friday. Again wow. Would not trust these clowns with changing a fuse let alone a complex install. Perhaps just a unfortunate mistake. It was many mistakes to forget to do a job. I actually didn't buy anything, but these guys have amazing customer service! I accompanied my dad to get his stereo checked. As we walked in, one of the guys greeted us and asked us how he could help. I described what we needed and he told us he'd get one of his guys to help us. The guy that helped us was really friendly. We all walked out to my dad's car and he checked a few things. We walked back into the shop and he explained what we would need in order to fix the problem. I discussed it with my dad (in Spanish) and we decided we needed more time to think about it. I told this to the guy and he was so genuinely understanding. He reached out to shake my hand and said "absolutely!" I know it doesn't sound like he did anything special, but sometimes it only takes a few seconds to transmit a moment of excellent customer service. read more

Not the best installer, expensive prices. Spoke with the installer Josh about doing my dvd screens and remote start, had a lengthy conversation about the fact i have 2 toddlers and i NEED a strong install. He informed me that he was the best. I requested NO BLACK TAPE, only shrink wrap, please, to wit he replied " yeah no problem". I wish i could post a picture .... He used speaker wire for power, black tape connections, and a very poor attitude when i remarked on the feedback through the stereo and the screen failing due to a misrouted rca cable [he ran it through a pinch point] . read more

After getting the interior pieces that the other shop broke and offered to reinstall, I called Shaun and explained my displeasure with the other shop and asked if his people could reinstall the interior pieces. Stopped by showed him what had happened and made a date. Even though it took an extra 30 minutes to complete the job, I was given a break on price due to the time it took. I recently purchased a 2008 Nissan 350z, and decided it needed a new stereo deck so I could have an aux input and a usb adaptor (not impressed with the stock Bose car audio). After going to Best Buy (where the prices were a little better) and not being particularly pleased with their options, I decided to check out mobile music. Thank god I did. Sebastian got me hooked up with a new Kenmore head unit, and I liked it so much I decided to have them install a sub as well. It sounds amazing. Mobile knows what they're doing, they have an incredible selection, from budget to billionaire, and their customer service is sterling. You will pay a little bit more than some super store but Mobile's know-how, superior selection, and professional and friendly staff are more than worth it. I've have them do some work for me over the years, and they've done a nice job with some custom wiring for my camper van. I was having a small electrical issue recently (unrelated to their work) and they spent alot of time trying to re-create the issue. They couldn't (isn't that always the way when you take your car in!), but even though they spent alot of time on it they didn't charge me. THAT is how you make loyal customers. Was given a quote of 3400, which I thought was steep considering I was supplying all the equipment other then a box and the subs....when I went to pay I was told 4600...they also drove my car over 30 miles in the 3 days they had it(I know because I had just gotten an oil change at the dealership before dropping the car off to them and had the mileage recorded on the receipt) when I confronted shaun about it he made excuses and lied about having been there the whole time and personally gave me his word it hadn't been joy ridden in but the day I went to pick it up he was on vacation...after paying the extra 1200 I realized the speakers I had needed an upgrade. I made the mistake of using them again not knowing of any other business that offered that service. Was told the speakers were 600, they tried switching it and telling me after they were installed they said 1300 which I know for a fact was what they said the 3 ways cost (I got the 2 ways) terrible service, looking to rip.you off any chance they get....and completely unprofessional. ...dont waste your time and money coming to this sketchy con artist "business" read more

I went in to mobile music to purchase my daughter and myself phones. I got her one she liked and I got the one I liked. That evening we tried to charge them and they did not charge so I brought them back. The clerk gave us a new charger. We went home and tried again mine charged fine but my daughters did not hold a charge so we went back the next day. He changed out her phone for another one. We got home and her battery was dead and would not charge. We took it back again. He gave us another battery. We got home and hers was now ok and I went to charge mine and it came on but the screen was black you could not see anything. I took mine back. At this point I had had enough and I did not feel satisfied buying broken items. I asked for my money back for my phone and since my daughters seemed to be fine I told them I would keep that one. The clerk said he could not give me a refund until the managers came back. So I had to come back two more times and was then told I would not recieve my activation fee for my phone back nor the monthly fee I had paid which was a total of 60.00. I would not recommend buying a phone at this store. read more
