On Wednesday September 2nd I had the worst customer service experience EVER!…read more First I drove 20km to the NE Calgary Store to buy a charging dock advertised in your online flyer. I searched the store and finally had to ask an employee where it was (showing him the device on my phone). He asked for the SKU # which I found and gave to him. He said that location didn't have it, but the South store had 18. WHY ARE YOU ADVERTISING SOMETHING THAT YOU DON'T HAVE AT ALL LOCATIONS? We decided to drive to the south store, as we wanted to buy a couple. We drove another 20km + to the south store. I can see why INDEED.COM has so many negative employee comments. The first lady I talked to was terse and wouldn't even look at me (customers are an inconvenience I guess). The 2nd person said "I don't know where they are," and began walking away. I asked if she could find someone that did, to which she responded by going to a computer (in a huff). She asked for the SKU # which I gave her. She said they have them and they should be on the floor, but said she would check in the back. 10 minutes later she came back and said "I can't find them." Having gone out of my way to find and purchase the item, I asked for the Managers name. She said "Owen" but didn't know his last name. I went to the front till and asked another person, who also did not know (and also was visibly perturbed by my presence) and finally asked another employee who said his last name is Frank. Your inventory control is bad, but your customer service is even worse. There were customers AND staff that were not wearing face masks properly or at all. I can see why your reviews are generally negative and existing and former staff hate(d) working there. I have purchased a number of things from your store that I found on REBEE (online flyer)- I will never enter your store again. When retail in general is hurting so bad, AND THIS IS HOW YOU TREAT CUSTOMERS!? WOW. I will also encourage friends, family and others to NEVER shop at Princess Auto again. I am fiercely customer service oriented and this could/should have been easily addressed. So disappointed.

Warning: At Subaru Calgary bad mechanics hide behind bad service advisors who hide behind bad service managers. I had a great 2015 Subaru Forester XT with only 142,000 km. I maintained it according to Subaru's recommended maintenance schedule and expected many more years of reliable service. In January 2025, I trusted this shop with one of the most expensive repairs I've ever had done to a vehicle. I paid approximately $6,500 to replace the timing chain, timing chain guides, and related engine components. Only 25,000 km later, while on a family vacation in Saskatchewan, the vehicle suffered what appeared to be the same catastrophic failure. Instead of spending time with my family, I spent my vacation arranging a tow, renting equipment, coordinating transportation, and figuring out how to get my disabled vehicle back to Calgary. It was stressful, expensive, and completely avoidable if the repair had lasted as it should have. What disappointed me most wasn't just the breakdown--it was the complete lack of meaningful support afterward. Given the recent repair and the amount I had invested, I expected a thorough evaluation to determine whether the failure was related to the previous work. Instead, my concerns were largely dismissed, and the only explanation I received was that "the engine was oil dirty". They charged me diagnostic for a dipstick check. I changed the oil a week before the trip. There was no meaningful effort to investigate the failed repair or provide a reasonable path toward resolving the situation. Good customer service isn't measured by how a business performs when everything goes right. It's measured by how it responds when something goes wrong. This was an opportunity to demonstrate accountability and stand behind a major repair. Instead, I was left to deal with the financial burden, the logistical nightmare, and the loss of confidence in a vehicle that had been reliable before this repair. A $6,500 engine repair should provide peace of mind--not leave a customer stranded hundreds of kilometres from home questioning the quality of the work and whether the shop will stand behind it when it matters most. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop for repairs.

Re: Jeff Toffin Invoice # 140054 Hello Sam…read more I'm writing concerning the work completed on my vehicle. I have to admit that I was disappointed to find that nothing had been fixed, including the squealing from the idler bearing or the a/c compressor. The squeal was heard by your staff and the tech that worked on the vehicle. I fact the tech came to investigate it in the parking lot before I had left and after I had paid my bill. I was told that the a/c system had been over-charged. Are you able to tell me what the pressure was upon the initial testing? I also wonder why the refrigerant that came out of my system was not re-installed to the correct pressure. My a/c was blowing cold air and the refrigerant was fairly new. Can you tell me what the system was charged too? As far as the blower problem goes, I have noticed no change there either. The blower fan comes on and it appears there is a loose connection at the ECU on the a/c unit. I'm wondering how you might be able to help me out as I'm not all that pleased with where things are at. Jeff Re: Jeff Toffin Invoice # 140054 August 27, 2926 Hello Sam, I am writing to ask you to repair the hood damage on my 1962 Sub resto-mod caused by the new idler pulley dust cover flying into the hood after the three machine screws holding the cover to the idler pulley were incorrectly torqued by the service tech allowing it to fly off striking the underside of the hood and passenger-side inner fender-well. I recall hearing a very large bang roughly two days following the idler pulley replacement your shop performed. At the time of the unexpected and unusually loud bang I assumed I had driven over something fairly large. It wasn't until I was washing the vehicle for the first time since the loud bang that I noticed and photographed the hood and inner fender damage documenting the incident. It is easy to visualize the sharp edge of the dust cap as the cause of the dent, on what once was a very well maintained and nearly blemish free hood on my show car. I suspect you will not contest and have business insurance for unfortunate circumstances such as these. I would appreciate a written response to my request for full compensation for the costs associated with the damage and inconvenience of needing to have the repair in the first place. Respectfully, Jeff
