Verizon's skilled telephone tech coaches did their best to resolve a messy activation glitch and instructed me to bring the defective hardware to this store. The staff here is utterly disgusting. They are aggressively rude, completely incompetent, and dripping with an attitude of total entitlement. They didn't just fail to help me--they actively mistreated other patrons and me in the store. Shockingly, a major corporation allows such gross misconduct to happen on its retail floor. I am escalating this directly to Verizon Headquarters, but local consumers need to know: this store is a toxic waste of time run by a crew that deserves to be summarily fired. Since this space is new and I had a couple of questions of my own I decided to go along. This space used to be the Panera Bread and Radio Shack before that so its rather spacious. Social distancing is enforced and each of the staff stations has a plexiglass shield in front of them. There are a number of mobile phones to choose from but I will be sticking with Verizon since I didn't see any massive savings against what I am paying right now. Since they also deal with new cable accounts I tried to see if I could knock some bucks off my current monthly plan since its ridiculous but they could not oblige with this and suggested that I call customer care since they had more power to do that. I think I am leaning toward an Internet only process where I enjoy my streaming services and only use mobile but lets see what happens. Overall I found the staff that I spoke to friendly and willing to help. I've seen Yelps of otherwise but that was not my experience at all.

We've been thinking of switching to them and taking advantage of one of these free switch with incentive deals that they offer. So I was in here and I was asking a couple of questions because it's a long process deciding whether we want to do it and if so which company we want to switch to. So the bottom line is that once you get through all the small print and the hidden costs and the not-properly-spelled-out incidence of your rate going up after such-and-such amount of time, you're really going to be paying roughly the same amount as Verizon, as Sprint, or matter who you go with. Recently I miscalculated my stride on some steps and came crashing down with my mobile in my hand and while I wasn't injured, my phones corner glass was smashed. I was mad for the most part since the phone is only five months old and didn't have insurance on it. Before you chide me about that, I should mention that I've never so much as scratched a phone screen in the 25 or so years of using these devices. End of streak. So anyway after being scolded by Verizon, I headed to the Smart Addiction store which is also known as "iFixit New York, Bay Ridge" location to assess the damage and the cost to repair. Sadly, the screen for this particular model was not in stock and would need to be ordered. I have a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL since I rather like a large phone based on all the web and social media stuff I do. The other downside would be the cost of $300 to replace and repair this broken screen. They said the Google phones are costly repairs so the part was ordered and I waited a few days. Once it was in the shop they took my device for a few hours and all was good as new. The staff is friendly but as technicians they are more interested in getting the job done efficiently for the customer. I told them the exact happening that got the breakage for them to be aware in case such actions lead to other issues. It's always best to be honest with the technicians. If you spill something on a laptop, let them know, if you drop your phone out a window, let them know etc. All in all I am glad that they are here and I hope that its a while before I have to come in there again since I don't like breaking things. Another good option at this location in Bay Ridge is that they have one of those Go Lockers so you can direct Amazon, FedEx and more to so you don't miss a delivery while you are at work. The closest UPS stores are in Bay Ridge near 90th and 2rd, and Sunset Park at Ft Hamiltob and about 65th near Three Guys. Props to this guy!! Today I finally went to upgrade my phone and every employee was incredibly welcoming to their customers. Tommy helped me, but I had issues with my old phone and wasn't able to upgrade at that time. But he was patient and kind while waiting for the issues to subside. Learnt that he was promoted to the 18ave T-Mobile store, which is well deserved for him! I came back two hours later when I fixed the issue, and another employee, Julio, helped me. He was great at explaining the price breakdown for me and extremely understanding about the upgrade and transfer process that took over an hour to finish. The store manager (Marlon?) was awesome at making sure the customers were able to find help immediately and with an employee who spoke their language.
