We've been thinking of switching to them and taking advantage of one of these free switch with incentive deals that they offer. So I was in here and I was asking a couple of questions because it's a long process deciding whether we want to do it and if so which company we want to switch to. So the bottom line is that once you get through all the small print and the hidden costs and the not-properly-spelled-out incidence of your rate going up after such-and-such amount of time, you're really going to be paying roughly the same amount as Verizon, as Sprint, or matter who you go with. There were two associates in the store and you could tell they wanted to go home early, and were annoyed someone came in in the last half hour they were open. I said to the girl who greeted me in a huff, that I was having issues with my bill and couldn't get through to customer service, and if they could contact them for me in the store. She said, no we don't help with anything related to billing, you have to call them yourself we can't do anything for you here, just sales! This review is about my credit card scams! I was in the store at night of Feb 16, 2022 and purchased apple cloud backup monthly service for $2.99 with my credit card. A female customer service representative helped me without complaint... But strange things happened on Feb17,18, someone used the same credit card information purchased a lot of goods online multiple times! Normally I like to use Paypal service not credit card directly. Verizon Wireless, the old At&T, T-Mobile, Nextel and to some extent Cingular couldn't WAIT to take your money and offer you nonsensical extras with your plan. Voice Command? Really? You can't dial? What, are you that self important that the Dahli Lama is on line 2? Blue tooth headsets with the flashing blue light? Now that you're hands are free, why don't you fondle your balls, dude? The flashing blue tooth light should say "I'm an asshole. I'm an asshole. I'm an asshole". Because of this learned history of mine, I walked into this At&t branch 2 days ago, and expected to be sold every last thing under the sun. MY OVERALL FINAL OPINION====The atmosphere gets one star. The cleanliness of the store gets another star. Timeliness with my particular issue gets 1 star. It was handled professionally and quickly. If you want to take care of an existing issue, upgrade a phone or get a problem solved, this AT&T store will help you. If you want to sign up for a new plan, they may push the world on you, and laugh their way to their commission check. Not the salesperson's fault. All AT&T's fault. The workers always greet you with a smile in a professional manner, ask if they can be of assistance, and introduce you to whomever is to be of service to you. What more could you want from a store that sells mobile devices? I went into this AT&T store to see if by any chance my account had an upgrade. I was greeted by one of the agents and he started looking into my account. Now, my particular line didn't have an upgrade, but this gentleman mentioned that I could take the upgrade from another line. At this time I had an AT&T Next contract so I asked what would happen to my existing contract. He said "not to worry because the new contract would immediately dismiss the current one." It sounded shady at first but I went ahead and upgraded my phone. I find out a month later that not only did this agent lie to me to get me to upgrade, but now I'm paying for two at&t next contracts. Went back to the store to get them to take responsibility for their lack of customer service, they said they couldn't do anything. I'm disappointed at the lack of care and understanding from this at&t store. If you guys want a problem solved or to get a new phone, just be careful as to what they tell you. We had been looking to change my phone service because we were not happy. We went into AT&T this past weekend attempting to find what we were looking for based on the promotions they have been advertising. We left without phones and with frustration. We were hard sold by a man who said he was a manager who decided to help us because we were stuck waiting. He was rude from the start and it only got worse as snide comments about our phones.. our jobs and our credit continued. Be careful in this store and A T & T. Big old bait and switch!! They lie and attempt to confuse you out of hundreds of dollars for set up. Double talk and aggressive sales tactics too. DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE! You have been warned. This store works on commission and will lie to your face to get you to sign contracts. We came in here to trade in our old phones for new ones and were told they were having a promotion that if you trade in your phone and add an additional line to each for $20/phone/month that we could get $700 off the new phone. Obviously we thought this was a great offer until I got my bill for over $400! When I called AT&T support I was informed that the promotion was just for my trade in phone and the additional lines were not needed. I'm infuriated that these scumbags are allowed to work like this. I've filed a complaint with the higher ups of the company and am hoping I can get back the full amount these scumbags have charged me. Worse costumer service in this world, as soon as I walked in yesterday afternoon they looked like so pissed off , i wanted to change my payment method to a prepaid cash and they told me 3 times that I need it to call at&t and do it with them , I waited on the line for like more then 20 m and nobody answered me so then I went back in the store asking some help since my payment was due and I really need my phone , the guy literally told me that I need it to call them and pay in the machine that was there so I tried to use the machine , not being professional with stuff like that I asked some help and the guy laugh being like " how can you don't know how to use this " and he told me " you just need to put your phone number " and I did it but the machine was asking more so after a long day of work and 40 min inside with 2 employees telling me that " YOU NEED TO CALL AT&T" so now my service it's off I cannot call AT&T , I'm far from an AT&T store , and I really need to use my phone and I cannot even call a car service and I'm gonna need to walk for 10 av just because yesterday nobody could help me for more then a 1 . My S4 is starting to flake out on me so I decided to go back to the Bay Ridge store where I bought it, to get a new phone. The crew that worked there at the time were so good that I not only bought a new phone but also a new Note 8 as well. I was kinda disappointed when I entered the store and found that the friendly staff was gone, replaced by two guys and a woman. I was approached by one of the guys who took my name (no problem) and my cell # (?) and said that someone would be with me soon. After about 5 min. the second guy came over to me and asked for my drivers lic.(??) I told him that my contract ended in July and that my phone was acting up so that even though I didn't want to, I had to buy a phone. After 2 minuets of typing he tells me that a new phone would add $22.00 to my monthly bill. Really?? I never told him what phone I wanted, if I wanted to change plans or add anything. How about explaining the Next program? Just it's gonna be $22.00 more a month. I guess he saw that "Are you out of your freakin mind look on my face so he added, that's for a 32 gig Samsung S6. Did I say that I wanted another Samsung?? Anyway I told him that I didn't want to pay any more than I was currently paying at which point he said, then you have to pay for the phone in full (which phone did I say I wanted?) and that will costs $699.00. I have been with AT&T since it was Cingular in 04 and since I was a customer of the store I was expecting just a tad more from this location,doesn't anyone know how to sell a product anymore?? He had a very strong knack for professionalism, knowledge of the business, and kindness and courtesy to me as his customer. He understood that every customer that walks into his store carries with them a unique life situation, and he did what he could to turn a potentially awkward situation into a comfortable one. I am fed up with AT&T and their customer service in general. I get different answers on the phone and in person. They did not look carefully at my bill and it was not until they reviewed my bill for the third time in the same week did the store employee happen to discover that AT&T was erroneously over charging me for the last 6 months! I have bounced back and forth between the store and their general on-phone customer service department trying to resolve this matter. (It was only the woman on the third phone contact who seemed to know what she was doing) When trying to lower my already expensive monthly bill, they conveniently forgot to tell me that insurance was available for a lower price than what I was paying. When describing a new upgrade plan they told me service charges were one price per phone and not till I added it up on paper in front of them did he mention that it's really a higher fee for the phones I upgrade. In the last two years in every contact with AT&T it seems like they are intentionally trying to deceive customers, withhold information about options (like purchasing phones from other sources) and tricking them into paying more. where to even begin. there are a couple of people on staff who are actually genuinely helpful people so i dont mean to drag them down however the overall customer service at this location is some of the worst ive ever dealt with. they couldnt care less about anything i came to get their help with. even managers were not only not helpful but rude about it. i had an issue with a phone that was supposed to be in stock and them telling me one thing on the phone and another in person. i tried to address this concern with management and they just blew me off and told me to call. i explained that i did that already you told me to come in and another when i got here said what you said you had you hadn't received in over a week and i was lied to. then the manager said yeah that happens oh well and just walked away from me. more times than not ive been made to feel belittled and straight up disrespected at this place. i spoke to corporate as well about this who were also terrible about handling anything. one of the worst companies in general. they just dont care about their customers anymore. read more
