Needed a flu vaccine so I made an appointment since they say it's a 45 min wait for walk-in. Still waited 45min. When I asked if anyone was going to vaccinate me after 25min the not-so-nice guy in the window was rude. My family works at this Costco so I'm disappointed the pharmacy can't get its act together. The morena location is the worst! And not because of the pharmacy because i have had several interactions with Nicole that works there and she is such a nasty human on the phone meanwhile in person she is a meek little mouse! Like if you hate your job then quit! She should be ashamed of herself . Anyone can be tough on the phone.. if you have legit concerns she talks to you like you are wasting her time and doesn't put you through to anyone else like some creepy gatekeeper .probably because of the amount of complaints she gets. We seldom use this Costco Pharmacy since we moved from La Jolla. This past week it was convenient to schedule an immunization here. The online scheduling and check-in went smoothly -- just had to sign the pre-filled consent forms. Pharmacist saw us in under 10 minutes. Parking at Morena Blvd Costco is as zooy as ever. read more

I'm dying to give this place zero stars. This is the most incompetent group of people and flawed system I've ever seen in a pharmacy. When you come to pickup a prescription, they act like they've never heard of a prescription in their entire life and are confused by any minor question. Can you enter my insurance so I don't have to pay hundreds of dollars for this? You'd think I asked them to create the medicine from the earth right then and there. I've wasted way too much time waiting in line here only to be turned away because they can't have it ready two hours before closing or made me go to the back of the line after updating my insurance even though I'm standing at the cash register. I get most (all but the compounded one, pimobendan, which they also offer here in Vetmedin) of my pet medication here. I call in refills a few days before and pick it up at my convience at this location. The parking is Costco parking - brutal, all day every day. Early on the weekday is your best bet. But the pharmacy itself is great. I spend over $400 a month on pet medicine & I could not imagine how much I'd be spending if I got it from the vet.. all the pharmacists are super friendly and helpful. They even ask about my pup every time I come in. 5 STARS for customer service alone. If you have a new prescription drop off, you can get it same day. They have pagers that allow you to shop around the store while you wait.. I've done this a few times also, and it's usually done before I'm ready to check out. Few tips - if you call in for a prescription with zero refills, give them at least 48 hours extra. They call the doctor to renew your prescription which saves you the trouble! Also, they have an automated medication pick up reminder that will call and tell you when it's ready. It also says that you need to pick it up within a few days (I don't remember how long exactly) so make sure you're able to do so or you may have to wait. read more

OK, I'm no Costco member, haven't been one for years. I couldn't fathom buying in such large amounts now. However, I'm always looking for a savings, especially in the area of prescriptions drugs. I found out that GoodRX offers a coupon for cash payment of a prescription that I take - basically not using your Insurance benefits. Costco Pharmacy offered the lowest price for this RX. What used to cost me $43 a month now costed just $28. Actually, I found out that by filling a 90 day supply, I could save even more. Last week, I paid $63 for a 3 month supply - that's just $21 a month, a savings of $22 a month! That's what I call a savings! I never knew that I could use the Costco Pharmacy without being a Costco member until one of my doctors told me about it. I've been very satisfied with the service provided by Costco Pharmacy. They don't necessarily hold your hand like some other pharmacies may, but they do a fine job. They've never delayed my prescription refill and have never given me any problems. That plus the incredible savings will definitely keep me going back. I now monitor my other prescription costs to see if GoodRX offers a similar coupon. Can you imagine how much normal pharmacies make off of you and your insurance for prescriptions when GoodRX offers substantial savings for paying cash!!! read more

After growing up with a family of pharmacists, I tend to expect professional, private (or as much as you can be without yelling things across the lobby) and courteous service. In fact, I struggle to write this review as there are several great things about Costco's pharmacy: -Prices are hard to beat -Often have medicine in stock -Privacy between staff and customers -They offer flu shots However, there are several problems I consistently have: -Parking SUCKS! ALWAYS - although not the pharmacy's fault, frankly. It still takes forever to get in and out -Apathetic and poor employee attitudes - across pretty much all staff in the pharmacy -If I order prescriptions 28 hours in advance, and advise that I am picking up in 12 hours, I should NOT have to show up to find out that you may be "partially out of the medicine" or not have it filled without at least a phone call to tell me so. Apparently I need to call a second time to ensure that Costco actually filled what I requested when the pharmacist PHYSICALLY checked for each of the 3 on the shelf? Obtaining 2 out of 3 prescriptions isn't acceptable. -Wait for a flu shot is 30 minutes? Worse than the doctors office. Disappointed! Will be trying to find another pharmacy. Probably not bad if you have or spend lots of time at Costco, terrible if you need a few prescriptions and want to leave. read more

Staff was grumpy, not helpful, and did not want to help contact my doctor. I was contacted that my scripts were ready but they were not. Had to return 3 separate times to a hot warehouse, waiting in line 15-30 minutes and then when I complained they said I should use this complicated locker system. I know, I'm old but med's are typically for us old folks as we slowly return to the dust. I just don't think they should try to get us there ahead of time by complicating and frustrating our lives. I may try once more but my life is already hard enough without jumping through hoops for a thankless staff that has only 1 or 2 that smile. I am super impressed with the staff here. I always feel really bad because I often show up, literally, at the very last minute because I get out of work 15 minutes before they close... they are always more than helpful to help me even though technically I show up right when they're closing. Most places would send me away and the staff - I forgot the name of the lady who typically works the register- always helps me and has yet to turn me away. I always appreciate their kindness and it's refreshing to have a pharmacy that will take 1 minute of their evening so that someone like me with time constraints can pick up their prescription. read more

I just called to see if they could fill my new dog perscription. The lady who answered the phone was the rudest person EVER. I must have inconvenienced her in a major way or it must have been beneath her to answer my question, asking if they carried that drug and how much it would cost. HOW DARE I CALL AND ASK HER THAT! At the conclusion of the call, I said thank you, and she just made a ugh, noise and hung up the phone. Costco may have low prices, but there is something to say about being treated with courtesy. The pharmacist at this location named Simon was very rude to me for a simple refill. My physician said he was very unprofessional to him as well when Simon was having trouble filling my prescription. My doctor considered reporting Simon to his manager, as did I. I rather go to another location than deal with avoidable stress when it comes to filling very important medication. read more

Love Costco and being able to pick up my prescription close to home and it is nice to be able to shop for groceries and other stuff at the same time. Last two times I came here a couple of the women had major attitude issues and the rest of the staff has always been great! I've had to come a few times this week due to medication being switched to a different pharmacy or medication not being in the system.. neither of which I changed or had control over. Dealing with horrible customer service really can make the overall feeling of a business go down. I'm a customer/patient trying to get my medication and that is all. I do not see what's on their side of the screen but for some reason a few of the women like to give attitude when I ask questions about medicine supposed to be in the system when it is not. I have never switched my primary pharmacy and do not have control over the medication doctors send over in the system so a little patience and understanding would go a long way. It is your job to answer a customers questions and should understand that a persons medication is not a joke or something to give a negative attitude over. read more
