I was able to try some Mochi Joy Donuts for the first time at Circle Centre Mall. They were located in a Pop-up called "The Intersection" that was curated by EatHere Indy. They had a plethora of boxes of mochi donuts ready to be purchased, but they only had a set menu of three flavors for the day I visited their setup. The pop-up shop provided a diverse selection of small local businesses that got to be seen on a bigger scale during NBA Allstar Weekend in downtown Indy. It was nice to meet the owner, Tom. He was nice and was gracious enough to explain what mochi was to me because I had no idea. He told me about their location up near Noblesville area. I purchased a 3 pack of donuts, that had the lemon drop, cinnamon sugar, and chocolate dipped with star sprinkles. These donuts were reasonably decent size for me. I must say biting into the lemon drop flavored donut that day, it was delicious! I was not expecting the chewy texture of the mochi but it grew on me. I would say that mochi donuts get more soft after sitting for a couple of days. So if I get some again, I need to make sure they are gone within the first day or two. Of the ones I've tried, their fruity pebbles is my favorite. I'm not a big cereal person but there's something nostalgic about this. And the flavor really comes through. All the flavors are good and match what the description says. For example, the circus animal donut tastes just like the cookie we all know and love. Anyway, it's the texture of the donut that I enjoy most. The fry on it makes for a good texture and not oily. It's like a guiltless donut. 5 stars - Location. For central Indiana, the northern parts, it's great to have this treat around. They are working out of a commercial kitchen in the VFW. That's where you go to preorder online for pick-up or drop by and carry out. They offer delivery too. Sounds like they will have a daily rotation of different flavors! They've only been open two days now and are operating out of the commercial kitchen at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building by downtown Noblesville. You'll need to order your donuts in advance on their website and they are only open Tuesday - Friday right now for pick-up. Their online ordering system was super easy and I got a text that they were preparing my donuts, as well as one when they were ready for pick-up. So simple! I ordered the raspberry and chocolate donut and both were delicious. I'm especially partial to the raspberry one as it had a great fruit flavor! I loved getting to meet the owners, as they were friendly and so excited for their new venture. Right now, it's just their small family team, but they hope to grow as they take it one day at a time. Tom and his mother-in-law are cranking out these delightful delicacies in the VFW kitchen in Noblesville! This was their first week and day one, they sold out in 2 hours, day two in 1 hour, yesterday in 12 minutes and a record 2 MINUTES today! There's an amazing reason why - the are light and crispy on the outside, chewy and pillowy soft on the inside and the flavors are so fun! You can eat it like a regular donut or peel each pod apart and eat them like donut holes - whatever your heart desires! I tried Mochi Joy for the first time at a pop up Yelp event at Yujo, and only had one. I was upset at myself afterward (because they were so good and I wanted another). So I followed them in IG and pre-ordered for the pop up collaboration with local coffee shops. I ordered a box that included honey cardamom, peppermint mocha, hazelnut toffee, and Santa's milk and cookies. They stood no chance. We tasted all of them... we ate all of them The milk and cookies was our favorite, but they were all so good. Wow!!! This is a great donut. It's unique but familiar all At the same time. I grew up eating Dunkin Donuts, and back in the day they were the king of donuts. Fast forward to today and now you have Jack's donuts and White's donuts and Titan donuts and so many other great options. Mochi offers a unique donut in that the bite of this donut is unique and delicious. The flavor is excellent and they have a "Crave" factor that days later I can't stop jonesing for. I have friends who like to eat donuts whenever they travel and they travel all over the world, and I've had some really great donuts in my travels with them. But, I think this is one of my favorites. I had a fantastic experience at Mochi Joy! The owners are so lovely and kind. The donuts were DELICIOUS. I have never had Mochi Donuts & I am so happy these were my first because they were amazing. I know their current space may be temporary for now but it's a very easy drive from Indy (currently they are in Noblesville)!! I haven't had the time to drive up to Noblesville so I was super excited to see that Mochijoy had a pop up shop at the Fashion Mall. 6.95 for a preboxed sampler of 1 German chocolate and 1 strawberry with sprinkles. I've only had mochi donuts one other time in CA, and these were far superior! Light and super chewy, not too sweet and the icing was not overwhelming sweet either. They were perfect.
