I have driven past this location so many times and had no idea it was right here! Gah!! Tucked in to the side of a plaza between a pool supplies place and a nail salon, Mochi Joy gives adorable as soon as you enter the shop. So many options! I tried almost every donut they had and a malasada and a latte! Favorite? 1000% the iced banana oat milk latte with banana pudding cold foam. I don't know who is making these creations up but it's giving me life!! I did order decaf because it was 4 pm and I need to sleep. So out of the donuts- I have to say the Taro, the biscoff, and the Dubai were probably my top three. The taro was very sweet while the other two were not. I also tried the raspberry and the lemon one and I wouldn't order those myself. The malasada was filled with vanilla custard and was rolled in cinnamon sugar. I'm just not a custard girl. I liked the texture of the malasada, but think I would have enjoyed it more without the custard. This place deserves so much love! Also- I might need to buy a coffee cup, they just give a happy vibe. I'll be back!

This was my first time trying Mochi donuts. I was drawn in by their book display. Such an exciting place to bring the family to hang out at. They have quite the assortment to choose from. I chose the Mochi donut birthday cake flavor. Once I took a bite, it was very chewy. Let's just say that this treat didn't make it home as originally intended. (Lol) The only note that I have is hopefully one day they will have a location closer, Downtown.

Mochi Joy Donuts are awesome!! The interior is bright, open, with lots of table options. They have an extensive menu that goes beyond donuts and I definitely want to come back and try more drinks and snacks. The donuts and my drink came out super quick. Staff was super friendly and I love how they ask for feedback. They also sell books and other local business products. I see that they use their space for community events and will definitely stop by again!

Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mothers, grandmothers, adoptive and foster mothers out there! (And a special heartfelt sentiment to all of the incredible women for whom this day is difficult.) When the mother of your children is part Pacific Islander and you hear there is a place that sells unique donuts that originated in Hawaii, breakfast is a no-brainer! I discovered Mochi Joy recently because... Yelp! I hadn't visited, yet, and was waiting for Mother's Day. What an adorable little shop! Bright, fun and cute (it is really hard to break the Oxford comma habit!), this shop is inviting and, dare I say, adorable. The kind lady behind the counter did not hesitate to answer my plethora of questions ("would you say I have a plethora?") and exhibited the highest level of patience with me. I left her a tip to show my appreciation, but then found out she was a manager and she doesn't get tips. But my good will wasn't foiled because she said it will go to her well-deserving employees. Now, that's a great boss! These donuts are fire! I love the little pearls of dough all working together to make the cutest little donut ring. I didn't know what to expect, but the donuts were a delicacy. Light and airy with a spongy texture. As you eat them, they turn a little doughy like a fun magic trick. Eating these little guys was a joy. (That sounded creepy and horrific.) Eating these little donut pearls was a mochi joy. (That's better.)

You need to come try if you haven't yet! Perfectly chewy donuts, amazing REAL matcha drinks, and a cozy space to hang out. Plus they feature products from local artisans so you can get your favorite goods while you sip on your matcha! Tom & Rachel are also the sweetest owners. Highly recommend! My favorite donut flavors are the taro and dole whip, and you HAVE to try the mango sticky rice matcha. I've never had anything like it before, and it's so delicious.

After hearing about Mochi Joy for months, I finally decided to stop by for their Memorial Day promotion! I got a 6 pack of donuts including their Pandan latte, ube Samoa, black seasame, lychee raspberry, and Golden Grahams smores donuts. I knew they were going to be good, but didn't expect AMAZING! The donuts weren't overly sweet and the frosting actually had flavor (not just a generic sweet flavor...it had FLAVOR flavor). The dough is so light and the mochi aspect isn't overly chewy. They have truly mastered the perfect mochi donut. My fave was the black seasame! I love their Asian-inspired flavors especially after a recent trip to Hawaii. They also have plenty of savory Hawaiian-inspired foods, including veggie options (veggie dogs!). I'm definitely going to try some out the next time I visit. I didn't interact with the owners, but I saw glimpses of both of them and they genuinely looked so happy to help customers and make drinks/donuts! I feel like this kind of joy is truly rare and much needed in Indy - if you need a sweet fix, PLEASE support this amazing business.

I cannot brag enough about Mochijoy! I visit at least once a week and I'm always greeted warmly. The owners and staff are so sweet and attentive. I love that the menu changes every week because I get to try a bunch of new flavors. They've also added a bunch of new savory items to the menu that I can't wait to try. You absolutely HAVE to try the new lemonades and Hawaiian trail mix!!!!

This review is for catering services for a work event. I initially requested catering from Mochi Joy from attending a Yelp Elite event originally - so thank you Yelp! I was planning a breakfast meeting for about 30 guests and placed an order for coffee with creamers, 30 donuts (glaze, elephant ear and cookies and cream) and a mix of the Portuguese sausage burritos and veggie burritos. They really ensured that the breakfast burritos were to be fresh and warm at time of arrival and they did a perfect job! Rachel is so friendly and easy to work with and Tom did a great job delivering and setting everything up! They both took the time to ensure quality in service and their food!

I really love it here! Something big happened today...I officially became a matcha fan. Before this, I didn't like matcha because my previous experiences weren't very authentic. Lauren at Mochi Joy suggested I try a sweeter matcha (they offer flavors like strawberry, pineapple, and lemonade), and she mentioned adding vanilla cold foam to make it creamy. That sounded amazing, so I went for it, and all I can say is wow. I can't wait to go back and try another flavor!

Talk about living up to the hype... This is the first full-time location of Mochi Joy (I anticipate more locations opening around the city if business keeps going like this). They used to be located in an VFW post in Noblesville and were only available for walk-in orders a few days a week. We have been to the new location twice and both times it was packed. Expect to stand in line to order, but service is quick so don't be deterred. They have a huge selection of mochi donuts too. Several regular flavors as well as seasonal flavors.

I happened to be here for an event and decided to get some extra items for myself...and then two days later made my husband go back again. I am officially obsessed with this place. I ordered the matcha latte flight and chose taro ube, coconut pandan, and salted toffee caramel. The flight came with a little glass of Topo Chico, which is my most favorite sparkly water ever. All of the matcha lattes were good, but the taro ube was my favorite. I also ordered an ube donut and a Dole Whip donut to take home to my husband. When he returned a couple of days later, he brought me a taro ube matcha latte, an ube mochi donut, and a yuzu lavender donut. Let me tell you about these donuts. They were phenomenal. The Dole Whip and yuzu lavender were fresh, clean, and light flavors. The lavender wasn't too heavy, and the yuzu shone through. The ube, well, guys, if you aren't on the ube train, better hop on, because your taste buds will thank you. I don't think I'll be able to rest until I've tried all the flavors of their donuts. This place is amazing. Love the staff- super friendly and kind and happy to make recommendations. And, this place is so bright and cheery and welcoming. Highly recommend!

These donuts are delicious!! The lemon bar is my favorite but all are so tasty!! Service was exceptional and they even went in the back to decorate a couple more in the flavor I requested instead of telling me they were sold out. The shop is very clean. What I love most, besides the friendly owners, and delicious flavors, is that the Mochi Joy donuts stay fresh for a couple of days. They don't get stale like a regular donut. Absolutely delicious! If you've never had a Mochi doughnut, you're missing out! The texture is so unique and along with the flavor they're addicting. I thought these might be just made with rice flour but they actually mix it with all purpose flour as well. Keep that in mind if you were thinking these may be gluten free. The owners seem like such the sweetest people. Their regular location is kind of far away but luckily they do many pop-ups within Indy. read more

As the first Mochi donut shop in Indy, they understandably have a unique & niche product to try. As a lover of all things sweet, they had me a donut, but the mochi batter and bubble-shaped treats are a delicious take on how donuts can be. They rotate their flavors and collaborate with local businesses to promote and support local (amazing!). This includes collaborating with businesses to incorporate their ingredients into the donuts or in pop-up events they do at businesses around the city. I love this for several reasons. The first is that you get to enjoy & support multiple local favorites at the same time, and secondly this provides more access/opportunities for Hoosiers to sample their products who would otherwise have to drive to Noblesville where there storefront is located. The owners, Tom and Rachel, are very kind and you can taste the passion in their craft- delicious! read more

The BEST mochi donuts in Indiana! I got to know them through Saturday morning pop up shops in downtown indianapolis. Their donuts are so fresh and they have new and diverse flavors. The owners are always so kind and their service is great! I highly recommend this place if you haven't tried this type of donuts before. My first Mochi donut ever and it was INCREDIBLE! Soft and chewy on the inside, not overly sweet, but a little crisp on the outside. They were so good. I feel like I have been living under a rock because I have never had a mochi donut before today! I utilized the online ordering option (I highly recommend because they were sold out in just couple hours!!). It was super easy to order online and once you get there, you just give your name and they box up your order. I got one of each flavor of the day and I honestly cannot pick my favorite, because they were all that good! The flavors rotate daily & and the menu gets posted on their website. I love that these donuts are not too sweet, and slightly chewy on the inside. They tasted so fresh and you can truly taste that they were made with love! We liked these Mochi donuts (which aren't very common in Central Indiana). I'd recommend the peanut butter flavor, since it went well with the mochi texture. Keep an eye out, since they said they sometimes go to farmers markets and other weekend events. read more

I found out about Mochi Joy from a Mother's Day pop up they did last year, and I've been a faithful fan ever since! Their brick and mortar location is one of my favorite places to visit, the staff are always so friendly and patient as I decide between all the amazing options! Their donuts are delicious; if you're ever there when the strawberry guava is available, you HAVE to try it. And all their cake options are INCREDIBLE; I'm in heaven right now with their Hawaiian Mochi Sticky Bread. The ambience is great too; even when I was there for the grand opening, things never felt frantic or stressful, and every other visit since has been very peaceful and relaxing. I miss the breakfast quesadilla though; the breakfast burrito is delicious, but some of the textures were a bit difficult for me, being autistic, and I didn't run into that issue with the breakfast quesadilla. I'm slowly working my way through their savory menu, and I have been consistently delighted. And I never fail to pair whatever I'm eating with a Lili & Li Lemonade (be sure to stir it to allow the flavor on top to permeate the whole drink; it's worth it!) They recently increased the size of their lemonades (maybe all their beverages?), while keeping the price the same, which is greatly appreciated by at least one cash-strapped daycare teacher. All in all, I love their commitment to experimentation and innovation, and I would recommend Mochi Joy to literally everyone! read more

Amazing!! I make it my mission to try, sample and consume a high variety of donuts from all around and MOCHI JOY an amazing treat. The donuts are light and tasty and the toppings are full of flavor. As a start-up location, they only make small batches each day and sell-out quickly. So not be discouraged if you are unable to place an order the first try - keep at it because they are absolutely worth the effort. First time trying mochi donuts here. It's kind of on the pricey side, but SO WORTH IT! It's a little bit chewy, which I like, and not too sweet. Bought 10 of them, took them home, and it's all gone in just under 20 minutes! Tiramisu is our family favorite. Then pandan coconut and matcha. Delicious! Such a perfect uniqueness where you get all the comfort of a donut with the chewiness of the mochi. We tried six flavors and each were awesome. I wish they had a simple glazed option where it was fully dipped in glaze to bump up the sweetness if you wanted an extra sugar rush. With the frosting/toppings just on top, they're not a sweet as most donuts. (Which means you can eat more ;) We'll definitely be repeat customers and be hoping for a storefront in the Noblesville area soon! read more

Definitely a breakfast to try! Check the hours before you go, it's in the veterans center. They're unique donuts and unique flavors. They're chewy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Next time the breakfast spots in downtown noblesville are on a long wait, try going here. There is also a company selling coffee alongside them so there's coffee and donuts read more

Tried this for the first time today. Got the Biscoff, Samoa, pineapple whip, and mud pie. Subtly sweet and has a good chew that is reminiscent of mochi, but why aren't they gluten free? They all tasted very similar and I'm reminded of la croix, where it tastes like the same mochi donut (which it is) that was walked through a room that had mud pies in it. If these were gluten free though I'd bump up the review since there aren't a lot of donut options for people with digestive issues. read more

10000% yes. if you ever questioned the need for mochi donut or mochi hot dog.... don't. get it all right now! the mochi donuts are the best in the city and the hot dog is a real zinger. our family went full japanese style for the hot dog. zero expectation for this.... and when i cut it in half to share with my mom i wasn't too sure.... but it's perfection. the kewpie mayo and siracha.... the bun is crunchy but soft and sweet and pairs perfectly with the dog. i've never had anything like that and we are already planning return visit in one week. i would recommend this place whole heartedly and cannot wait to go back. read more

These donuts and all of the Mochi Joy donut creations are the best! I never had a mochi donut before these, and I almost can't go back to regular donuts. They are super light with a nice chew, and the constant stream of new flavors keeps me coming back. I have tried other mochi donuts since these, and they just don't compare. The different icing flavors are not too sweet like others. They also do various pop-ups throughout Indy which make them so much more accessible for people like me who live far away. They are also super kind, and they are the best duo, always supporting other businesses like the ones they pop-up at. I am a big Mochi donut fan!! read more

Meet the Business Owner: Tom N.

Mochi Joy was started from the love of eating mochi donuts. The first mochi donut shop in California is what sparked the opening a mochi donut shop one day. Fast forward 7 years, moved to Indiana and realized there wasn't one open yet. I figured out how to make them in scale, perfected the recipe, and found a commercial kitchen in the VFW in Noblesville to start out. In 2 weeks of opening, my wife joined because of the popularity. We've been innovating with new mochi products and now drinks. Everything we built so far is from customer feedback and our passion for everything mochi. We want to bring the mochi experience we found in Hawaii to Indiana.

The cheese curds also looked completely different and were smaller portions than shown online. For our meals we had a burger, a chicken sandwich, and I had the southwest salad. There seemed to be a little miscommunication with our waiter about the dressing for my salad, and that resulted in my salad missing some ingredients but he resolved it. But also of note, the menu listed a "avocado lime vinagrette" and the salad came with a guac that just looked like it was maybe left in the blender a second longer than it should have been. The burger was huge. We all agreed the food was "good" but we wouldn't add it to our list of must haves next time we are in town. The disappointment more came from things that hyped us up on the menu online and in store and then weren't actually the same. :(

I tried one of their featured Driver's Drinks, the Razzle Dazzle. A Blueberry and Vanilla Salt Latte topped with white chocolate foam. I ordered mine with oat milk, and it was delicious. Rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. Every sip was well balanced between coffee and sweetness.

The service was incredibly friendly. The staff was knowledgeable about the products, and answered any question I had. My only complaint is the fraps and the smoothies do not have dairy free options. As someone who doesn't drink coffee, this really limits my options. I try to avoid lactose so it would be so nice to have a dairy free option like almond, oat, even soy milk base. Most of these drinks contain a lot of sugar which also can upset your stomach, so the dairy free would be a nice switch. It felt like my only option would have been a tea. Thankfully I had packed my dairy pills, so I went with a smoothie. I will definitely be back, but I hope they continue to expand their selections.
