Bored and wanting a snack, I entered Mochinut. Imagine my surprise when I saw not only mochi donuts, but also mochi corn dogs. These take corn dog and introduce mochi filling between the hot dog and outer crust instead of only having cornmeal. The other crust can also be instant ramen, should you want to feel extra unhealthy. I tried an instant ramen corn dog ($5.5). It took ~10 min, longer than I expected. The hot dog turned out to either be a beef-only dog or some sausage since it had a decent bite. The mochi filling didn't stick too much, and the outer instant noodle crust provided crunchy without having too much flavor (the seasoning packet was not applied). Is this a novelty? Probably. Would I be dumb enough to get this again? Also probably.

Got it to-go. Super quick. Convenient location. They were all pretty good, my least favorite being the Tiramisu. I choked on the cocoa powder on my first bite. I really liked the matcha, the ube, and the biscoff one. If you like mochi donuts in general, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.
These are some of my favorite mochi donuts. They're so soft and chewy, I loved the texture of these donuts. The flavors are very strong and not too sweet, which I really liked. I think my favorite was the ube and my bf really liked the black sesame because it's the closest to a traditional vanilla donut frosting, so if you're not too adventurous this is a good one to try

I have a massive sweet tooth and can confirm Mochinut has the best mochi donuts around! They are soft, chewy, and not overly sweet or oily (the main issue with typical donuts). My favorites are strawberry, ube and black sesame. The store is conveniently located in the back of Gongcha and the staff is really nice. Also the packaging is so adorable, the pink box is everything.
If you've never had a mochi doughnut before, this is a really great place to try them. We ordered a box of 6: blueberry, fruity pebbles, black sesame, matcha, yuzu, and honeydew, and they were all delicious. The texture is really interesting - it's a bit bouncy and oily but not as sticky as an actual mochi dessert. All of the flavors tasted very strongly of what they were supposed to, so there were no complaints on taste. The price was a bit high, however - it's definitely not something I would have on a regular basis. But if I were introducing someone to mochi doughnuts or I wanted a special treat, this is definitely the place I would go.

Service is generally quick and the boxes are appropriately sized depending if you get 3, 6, 12 mochinut. The doughnuts themselves are pretty sweet and they're shaped with a huge hole in the middle so you kind of feel a little gimped. The flavors are pretty Asian and resemble what you might see at a boba tea shop. We got the taro, green tea, and the Oreo flavors. They did last pretty fresh for about 2 days but start to feel and of soggy after that. tldr; cute little donuts with a twist, but not worth the price
Came here to try some machine donuts. Was a store split in half with Gongcha in the front and Mochinut in the back. First the donuts. They were very chewy and not too sweet. Just the right amount of frosting on top as to not overpower the taste. Now the service. They have a sign that says 5% off with cash. Ignore that. We went up to order to pay with cash, the one worker there, who had nothing else to do at the point, scowled at us and told us to use the machine which doesn't take cash.
Mochinut is amazing I love mochi donuts. The fruity pebble and mochi are my favorite. Just wish the donuts were warmer, the original donut lacked flavor. Besides that everything was yum. Make sure y get the cheese fried corndog SO GOOD.
Tried their California location prior and had a good time so I decided to checkout the one in Boston. It was defiantly good, not too spacious but good for the area. The staff was fine, nothing out of the ordinary. The donuts did taste fresh and were really delicious. The fruity pebble donut was my favorite along with the cheese only Korean corn dog!
Stopped in on a Sunday evening and it was quite busy. We ordered from the kiosk and it was ready quickly (about 5-7 minutes). The donuts are so good and I definitely recommend!

The hype for this place kind of died down so its not super crowded like before. Came here before so the place is not that new to me. Order came pretty quick. They share with gong cha right beside it, so its pretty convenient to hang around while waiting for either orders if you ordered from both places. There are chairs inside so you can freely wait if its not all occupied. Drinks and donuts are pretty tasty too. Im sure I will be back when I am around the area read more
Oreo Mochinut (4/5): Nicely fried on the outside and soft on the inside. Basically like an Oreo donut but with a bit of mochi chewiness. Chocolate Mochinut (4/5): Not quite as good as the Oreo flavor. I think I would've preferred a less liquidy chocolate glaze. Mochinuts are cute. There are plenty of varieties to choose from. I am not a donut fan but could not resist to try some since they look so cute. But I would have to say they don't taste much different from donuts. I ordered it from kiosk in the store and got my order immediately. One point deducted for the tiramisu one because the powder made it too dry. My favorite was chocolate. read more
I've been in love with the mochi donuts at Mister Donut in Asia for years. I was super happy to see the mochi donut concept introduced in Boston, but I prayed that it would be done well. The donuts here are priced at $3.50 each, 3 for $10, 6 for $18, and 12 for $35. We were debating whether to just get 2 or get 3 for $10, then settled on just getting 2: strawberry and cinnamon. They have a bunch of flavors to choose from, including ube, matcha, black sesame, strawberry, chocolate, tiramisu, coffee, cinnamon, Nutella, and the original (coated in sugar). On a scale of 1-10 where 1 is a typical Dunkin wheat-based donut and 10 is the chewy, light Mister Donut that I can't leave an Asia trip without, I'd say these are around a 3. They lacked the mochi I was looking for. While they were super cute and very soft, I had to try very hard to convince myself that these were mochi-like. The sweetness was also a little overwhelming. If anyone is looking for a Mister Donut copycat, I recommend Paris Baguette's mochi donuts. If you want a soft wheat donut with Asian flavor, this would be a good spot for you. read more
Oh my gosh, these are so good. I had the black sesame, tiramisu, ube, and matcha flavors. They were all so good!! I loved that they had a flavor like black sesame; it's really rich. My favorites, though, were ube and matcha. The combination of the mochi and dough is just perfect. It's like a normal doughnut, except infused with the extra chew of mochi. What a perfect pairing! That texture is next-level. The flavors on top were all great - on the sweetish side, but not too sweet. Some flavors come with a pocky stick, some come with some other topping. It's a nice finishing touch! Prices are really expensive... it's $3.50 per doughnut, $10 for 3, $18 for 6, or $35 for 12. Considering that these are the size of regular doughnuts except with massive holes in the middle, these are slightly more expensive than premium doughnut stores like Sidecar, Stan's, etc. The storefront is located inside the same building as Gongcha. It can get pretty crowded late at night. read more
I've heard so much hype around Mochinut's donuts that I knew I had to give them a try! I came on a Sunday around 12:40pm expecting a long line. Luckily, there was barely anyone there! We had to wait around 10 minutes to get our donuts since there were other delivery orders that came first. We ordered the matcha, black sesame, and ube donuts. They also had chocolate, strawberry, and cinnamon available - but, based on reviews I read about the chocolate and cinnamon ones, I decided against them. My ranking would be black sesame, matcha, then ube. I'm a black sesame fiend - this donut craved my black sesame cravings! The frosting was the perfect level of sweetness and I could definitely taste hints of black sesame! The matcha was the least sweet out of the three. The frosting was also a lot stickier and thicker than I had expected - wasn't specifically a bad thing. I thought the ube flavor was the most unique - it was also by far the sweetest. The frosting was also the thinnest of the three. I thought it was a bit too sweet, but it was still really delicious! Overall, we really loved the flavors we got! Since these desserts are def a bit on the pricey side, I probably won't be getting these very often. BUT I think they're worth the hype and def worth a try!! read more
I didn't love mochi donuts before but this place has changed my mind. The texture of crispy to fluffyl, warm, chewy is so gorgeous. Flavors change once in a while. But the texture is sick the real winner. Highly recommend. read more
How many times have I stopped at Mochinut? Countless! I never intend to go there but once I'm in the Allston area and getting some spicy Chinese food to go, my next obvious question is - what's for dessert? Mochinut has become the new go-to place for sure. Their donuts are creative (black sesame, ube, matcha - these are the ones I love) but they also have typical donut flavors (chocolate, coffee, tiramisu, Oreo). Texture-wise, they are perfectly chewy, exactly what you're looking for from a Mochi donut. They're also not too sweet which by now is a triple win really. The only downside is that they are usually packed so you might have to wait a bit for your turn. They now have kiosks for ordering and I'll suggest that's the way to go. I've even stored them in the fridge to eat day-old donuts and they've held up so well, I was pleasantly surprised! If you're in the area (or even if you're not!), plan to stop by and you'll leave happy! read more
This is the OG spot for mochi donuts!!!! They're always consistent and so yummy! I've had EVERY flavor and they're all soooo good! The name are true to the flavor and it's not overwhelmingly sweet and you can truly taste each unique flavor. For starters, I recommend everyone try the Cinnamon donut because it tastes like Churros!!! My favorite is the fruity pebble, the fruity pebble is fresh and crunchy and the frosting is Chef's kiss 10/10! ATTENTION * ONEZO in Chinatown partners with mochinut to sell donuts after I think 4pm? However, be aware that the donuts at Onezo may not be as fresh! I got the fruity pebble at Onezo one time and the cereal was stale... * Mochinut gets very busy and has lots of orders in the afternoon/evening and it may take FOREVER to get your donuts. I've witnessed someone wait 30 minutes for ONE donut because they prioritize first come first serve; meaning If there is a person ordering a dozen donuts ahead of you then you're stuck! * With that said, they need to work on their customer service and the kitchen because they were sold out of one flavor during the midday and they had online orders wait forever because they were making the donuts still. read more
Wonderful, chewy donuts! The presentation is A+, and the flavors are not too overwhelming. We tried the black sesame, matcha, Oreo, chocolate, strawberry, and fruity pebbles. Out of those, I thought black sesame and strawberry were the best! One thing to note is that the dough seemed to be the same across all donuts, and the only difference is the topping/decoration. I expected the chocolate donut to be made with chocolate dough, so that was the only disappointment. A great treat and would definitely order again when in the mood. read more
Why has it taken me such a long time to try some mochi donuts??? The doughnut selection was the hardest part about ordering these donuts. Also located inside the same place is a bubble tea place, both great things that can go together at anytime. I pricing is really reasonable and I decided to order half a dozen. YES, I had to try a piece of each donut because I have a sweet tooth lol. For me the honeydew and blueberry were on point. The flavors were just amazing and the doughnut itself was very moist and chewy hence it being a mochi donut. If you haven't tried a mochi donut then be sure to do yourself a favor and try it. Boston went from zero to two mochi donut shops at the same time! I consider Mochinut to be superior to Pondejoy in terms of price, presentation, and taste. This store is located inside Kung Fu Tea. I went here soon after they opened and tried all their flavors, which at the time was Cinnamon, Ube, French Toast, Oreo, Strawberry, and Matcha. For price, it is cheaper to order a box of 6 than individually. Ordering a box here is $1 cheaper than Pondejoy at this time. It comes in a cute box with the mochinuts logo (Pondejoy puts them in a generic plastic box with no logo). The donuts are very photogenic and tasty. I like how they incorporated extra things such as Oreo crumbs on the Oreo donut, a piece of matcha pocky with the matcha donut, and a cinnamon wafer with the cinnamon donut. Overall, I had a very good experience here and will come back to try new flavors when they come out. read more
Haven't tried any other mochi donut in Boston, but I've had Mr. Donut abroad and miss that light and chewy texture that mochi donuts are known for. I ordered a matcha and was worried it was cloyingly sweet like others said, but it was actually fine! What turned me off, though, was that the donut was extremely greasy. If you pressed it, you would be left with very oily fingers. $3.75 for one (with tax) is definitely not the same price as it is in Asia, but it's certainly affordable if you want a small dessert. $5 credit card minimum - the person working when I was there also wasn't the friendliest but wasn't rude either. I had to wave for her attention even though she had no customers. read more

My friends and I ordered a variety of their donuts on a busy valentines weekend. Even though it was close to closing, they still had all the donuts we wanted available. I also was determined to try their fried hot Cheetos hot dog. We had come here after dinner so I was far to full to consume the half hot dog & mozzarella cheese hot Cheetos, that I ended up having it days later. Even though I only have a microwave to heat it up, it still had a great cheese-pull effect and tasted decent. I would have liked chunkier pieces of Cheetos as well as a more thorough coating of the spicy powder. From the donuts I tried, I loved the ube the best. The other flavors like Vietnamese iced coffee, black sesame, and cinnamon were good. Texture is almost more fried dough-like than mochi-like however. Overall good experience, servers were friendly and efficient but I would like to try other local locations that serve similar items. read more
5/5 for the Mochi donuts! BUT 1/5 for the corndogs!!! Overall I love mochinut for their mochi donuts only. Ube is my favorite so chewy and you can taste the ube flavoring from the glaze! i always come here to grab a donut whenever I'm in the mood or need a pick me up! For the Corndogs, I don't recommend getting them. I wanted to try since they added it to the menu but there cheese didn't taste like anything and they used regular hot dogs so it wasn't really flavorful or juicy. The batter of the corndogs weren't fluffy as well so I recommend just going down the street to Kimchipapi for a really good Korean corndog and pass on getting them here! read more

After trying Pon de Joy, I had to try this place for a comparison. This place definitely had a longer queue. The queue was pretty long and I had to wait about 15 minutes before placing my order. I got 3 mochi donuts: matcha, black sesame, and ube. Waiting for my order also took about the same amount of time. The box was definitely more cute. I only got to try the black sesame and it was definitely pretty good and not too sweet. read more

TooGoodToGo. It's an app that helps reduce waste and it was my first time ordering from the app. I paid roughly like 6$ ,and it said suprise bag and I was so excited cause it was my first time ordering from this place. I walked in and the worker looked at me,said no word and handed me one donut. I was confused not because I expected to receive a whole bag of all donuts but what the app said it would be a surprise BAG. They had so many batches of donuts before closing like I mean a lot and he then proceeds to scream "WERE CLOSED" as I'm in line though I had a pick up time until of 10pm and I was there at 9:55pm.I'm confused because the app states it's a bag of treats and you're telling me I paid 6$ for a single donut. The app stated it would be something worth 15$ ,this clearly isn't worth a dried up donut that's be left there sitting out. read more
This was my first time trying Mochinut, and I see why people are obsessed with them. I got the Taro, Black Sesame, and Match ones because I have an old woman taste. They were the least sweet flavors, and it went along really well with coffee. I love how it is chewy and soft on the inside. Fair warning, once you order on the online pad at the place, it took a good 25minutes to come out, so you got to account for the time. There is street parking in front of the cafe, so hopefully you are lucky to get a spot. read more

Stumbled into this place on one of the side streets of Chinatown. How have I never been here before? Large selection of flavors. The ube mochi was delicious but really heavy. It kept me full for hours. The other donuts looked good- I will be back to try the Matcha and Tiramisu (popular items). Ambiance is cute and fun. I can see influencers coming here to take pics in front of the grass wall. read more

This brand new mochi donut store pairs pretty well with the Gongcha that is right next to it. The only thing different about these donuts is that the mochi dough makes it kind of chewy and sticky. What's next? Mochi boba inside a croissant donut??!? Should I patent that?!? I actually prefer this place to Pon De Joy not only because a pack of 6 donuts is cheaper, but also because the donuts are more flavorful. They even put pocky sticks on top or slices of oreos. The secret is probably in the glazed frosting with matcha for example. Or... They just dumped a ton of sugar and called it a day. They also sell korean style hotdogs here but I didn't order any. The box is pretty cool as well. read more

Another newly opened mochi donut place in Allston is located inside of Gongcha on Harvard Ave. I came here on a Sunday afternoon during their soft opening and they had plenty of delicious-looking mochi donuts. We had to wait a bit to order as one girl was packing an order and as we kept making eye contact with the other worker as he was not doing anything. The line started getting longer behind us and the girl finally finished up to take out order. We got a box of 6 mochi donuts including cinnamon sugar, matcha, black sesame, ube, strawberry, and chocolate. The mochinut box is super cute and the mochi donuts are more visually appealing than pone de joy. These mochi donuts taste more fried and oily and you can see the circle oil stains on the bottom of the box. They are lighter than pon de joy and taste more like a regular donut and less mochi-like. They are still soft and pillowy although not as flavorful as pon de joy's mochi donuts. Overall, still great, and will be back to check out when they add new flavors. read more
This place is awesome and great to pre order or walk in, but the doughnut selection of options here is insane. They do have some seating inside and a bubble tea store next to the shop as well. What a power couple right!? The doughnuts are moist and chewy. The flavors are so good, especially the fruity ones. They literally melt in your mouth. Pricing is pretty good at $3.50 a doughnut but then deals from there the more you buy. Great to bring to co workers, friends, and family. Not just another doughnut but truly a unique delicious treat. read more
