Pleasantly surprised is the probably the best way to describe the establishment. We stopped by the Mochinut of Wesley Chapel/Lutz on a whim. We had boba in mind, and Mochinut came up as the closest shop that could deliver in this regard. My rating factors in the location of the Mochinut here. While it is in the plaza on the westbound side of 56, this location lends itself to avoid the hecticness and heavy traffic that is found in the shops across the highway. Mochinut sits in a plaza is that is relatively tamer and calmer compared to the outlet area. I don't recall any tables and seating outside; if there was, it was maybe a bench or two. As you walk in, you will find a rather spacious interior with both table and lounge-like seating. There were two counter areas - one appeared to be non-operational that particular Saturday. The other (on the left as you walk in) seemed to be the main ordering counter with the displays of the mochi doughnuts. It was also interesting to see one staff manning the entire operation - not unusual for shops like this, but I can definitely see peak periods where more staffing would help. There were also two claw machines that pays out pretty cute stuffed animal prizes to include some Labubus (these machines accept both credit and cash - each game/turn costs $1). We ordered 2 boba-style drinks along with some mochi-style doughnuts. The food and beverages were a bit on the sweeter side, but it served its purpose. While not truly mochi cakes, the mochi-nuts (as the name suggests) were more on the doughy side - they were soft and offered a bit of the chewiness that mochi cakes deliver. Overall, not a bad place to just sit and enjoy for a bit. If you are in the area, whether shopping the outlets or any of the other nearby retailers, and need a quick fix of boba or something sweet, give Mochinut a try. read more

We've been going to different mochinut locations for over 2 years now. We started going to Wesley chapel because Tampa was going downhill. It's sad to see that this location is going downhill as well. They're just trying to do too much now with ramen and bowls as well as the classic corn dogs and donuts. Service is very very slow, when they weren't even busy. Corndog coating was almost burnt, and now they're putting sugar on them for some reason? Did not receive the drinks that we ordered and had to ask for them. Restaurant was also dirty with sticky floors and filthy tables. Also gone is their nice branding on the boxes and cups (a silly thing, but it was nice to have.) So so disappointing. read more

I personally love a mochi donut - and I pick these up pretty often. They have a few seating options and now have a whole ramen station which was not there when I first visited. We went there because we tried a similar place in the Seminole/Largo area that was SOOOOO GOOD!!!! We've been here twice, actually. We hoped it would be a similar experience...not at all actually. The first time - we walked in and the smell of air freshener was so strong it turned us off - so we left, disappointed. The second time we went, today, the air freshener smell wasn't nearly as strong but it smelled like raw sewage inside. We realized the previous overly air freshened smell was likely to mask the sulfur water they probably have so we thought maybe it's not their fault - but then they were sold out of donuts and either refused to make more or didn't have more to make. First time trying Korean hotdogs and now I'd choose them over traditional ones because of the extra pizzaz. Mochi donuts are supposed to be soft and a little chewy. They're made of glutinous rice flour which gives them the distinct sticky and chewy texture. Their donuts separated immediately upon picking up and it wasn't as soft and sticky as I expected it to be. If this is your first time trying mochi donuts, it's worth the try. Mochinut just opened today in Wesley Chapel, FL. They are located across the street from the outlet mall next to Astro Outlet and across from Raining Berries where Pho 54 and Sweetea use to be. They fixed it nicely with a new coat of pink paint and some cute comfy blue velour couches and a bunch of tables so great space. Everything was smooth sailing for the first day at 11am when they first opened. They have a good variety if mochiballs which are filled with their flavor. I haven't tried these yet and definitely want to. They also have mochidonuts. I ordered red velvet, cookies and cream, chocolate almond, and ube pebbles. They have a large variety of Korean hot dogs. I ordered the sweet potato mozzarella half and half. Lastly, they have boba drinks which I didn't order. Everyone was very friendly and I'm glad they are a lot closer than the USF location. So my family and I walked into this establishment today. The ambiance is very welcoming. It's the new kid on the block, so it's not as pack (yet). We order some banana machi balls and strawberry funnel cake donuts. I can honestly say our children enjoyed the banana machi balls. The strawberry funnel cake donuts to me. There was nothing that wowed me. Truthfully, I wouldn't call it a strawberry donut. the only thing that made it a strawberry donut was the syrup layer over it. The drinks with the Bobo I can honestly say was one of the best I had in a while. I hope this isn't the first days of grand opening where everything is good and after 3 months they lose sight of why they opened. As long as they keep their eyes on the prize, which is the consumer, they will be an establishment to be reckoned with. For now, Kudos to Mochinut. My 10 year old loves anything mochi! She was so excited to try this place, and luckily, it didn't disappoint. The service was fast and friendly. The flavors are all unique and tasty (we tried them all). I was a little apprehensive about Parmesan Cheesecake, but I'm glad I took the suggestion to try it. It was one of my favorites! The spot is located across the street from the Tampa Premium outlets. There is plenty of parking and the exterior is inviting. The interior is cute with several instagram worthy opportunities. We opted for the mochinut balls because they had both toppings and a filling inside. My favorite was cheesecake, then ube. So good! We also ordered 2 k-dogs: cheese covered with hot cheetos and a half hot dog/ half cheese dog covered with potatoes. I was pleasantly surprised with the cheetos k-dog. The cheese was sweeter, but subtle. The cheetos balanced it with a little crunch. The other one was basically a corn dog and cheese covered with fries. My family and I enjoyed this one better. The matcha drink was also tasty. Overall, we were happy with the food and drinks. The prices weren't the cheapest, but it's understandable due to the unique offerings. Then my little one had to use the restroom. When you enter the hallway, you will see supplies covered with cloth and to the right is the door to the restroom. Well, the restroom definitely did not match the cute interior and exterior aesthetics. It was dirty, dark and unkempt. When it came to washing our hands, the soap dispenser AND paper towels were empty. And the dispenser looked like it was about to fall off. Thankfully, we had antibacterial to use until we got home. I don't know what I expected but I didn't expect it to be this yummy!!!! The hot Cheetos cheese/ hotdog was soooo good! I wish I would have just done all cheese. It was made to order so fresh and hot. Wasn't too greasy, the cheese was extra stringy. Only thing to compare it to - Imagine a mozzarella stick with hot Cheetos on outside but not as crispy as a typical mozzarella stick. No sauce needed. 3 things about this place: 1. This is a well known doughnuts made out of mochi and also known for the Korean corn dogs. Clean place inside but as a new spot, the inside smelled. 2. Friendly staff and the order was placed immediately and ordered the regular Korean corn dog. Took about 15-20 minutes to get 1 corn dog (half cheese/half hot dog) along with 1 mochinut, which I thought was pretty long time of a wait. 3. For the price of what you're paying, the corn dog was not worth it at all. First it was very small of a portion for the price, and second, corn dog was off with the breading and the cheese. The service is really considerate for knowing who ordered the foods, specifically there were two ladies who were considerate so kudos to them. I come to this location pretty often, especially around 9-9:30 p.m. I went there at 9:30 p.m on the 24th and went to order a corndog and got told the machine was turned off. I understand that this location closes at 10:00 pm but to have them shut the machine down 30 minutes before closing is kind of insane to me, especially since the main option to choose from is the corndogs. I don't get off of work until around 8:30 p.m and it's a far drive for me to get here. I usually would never complain but I feel like it's unfair to do to the customers. Start with that the donuts taste good ! Problem is the inconsistency. They should be open with doors unlock at the time they say they are open which is 10 am but doors were locked. They also have flavors they advertise for the week on social media and as I walked in , they had no idea about the vanilla donut I drove there for and I showed them it on their site for the week and they had everything but that. I came in 45 mins after their opening time and they only had 3 flavors ready so I had to wait for the other ones to be made. This consistently happens. Usually this should be prepped and ready for customers if you are open. My Son and I popped in to this "donut shop" for a sweet treat because we heard it wasn't your typical donut. Boy were they right! I ordered the brown sugar boba with the chocolate churro mochinut. My son had the coo lies and cream mochinut and the strawberry lemonade boba. The mochinuts were soooooooo delicious and packed with flavor, all while super soft with a slight chewiness. The mochinut was the perfect thickness and satisfying to boot. Perfect to soothe my sweet tooth. The boba drinks were not overly sweet, came in a cute little reusable cup, and bursted with flavor. We love the original Mochinut by USF and was thrilled when I saw this new location just off 75, right next to Glory Days. The new location is much nicer and roomier.
