Oh my baked heaven...it was our first time trying Don Pan. We mentioned it was our first time here and the gentlemen behind the counter was so helpful. Explained what they have and the details of what's in it. He said everything was made fresh and asked how I typically like my coffee and whipped it together himself with their batch of coffee specially made for their bakery. What we ordered: Tequeños - basically a fried breaded cheese stick...SO GOOD it was our fav. Cheese Cachito - similar to a croissant as it's flakey but it also has a sweetness to it and stuffed with cheese - our second fav. I really enjoy the individual items, so why not buy a birthday cake there as well? Learned the hard way, the beautiful cakes are visually pleasing but dry as a cardboard. Let me be clear. This little cafe has so much potential. It has the feel of Mom & Pop shop. And one of the hardest worker behind the counter-- seriously she is a one woman show. Never had it before and heard of it, but this little Colombian sweet round bread really captured my heart. That being said, now the improvements needed section: This place needs help! Seriously you have to wait 15+ minutes because there is only one person behind the counter. All I wanted were those oan de bonos and coffee and I waited 15 min just to order. Now the coffee..I wish they offered drip coffee. I asked if they had any and the said hard worker convinced me to get their con de leche and black coffee versions of them. They were 3.75 each. I didn't enjoy them as much for the price point and again, how long I had to wait for the said "drip-like" coffee which were really Americanos. Last time we were here less than a month ago, I got a tiramisu and a flan. In comparison to the pan de Bono, they fell short. They didn't taste that special than what I'd get at a supermarket bakery. Went here this afternoon for several coffees and pastries. Drove 5 miles specifically to come here. Guy at the register stared and me and the line of customers numerous times while walking back and forth to the back area. No greeting or smile whatsoever. Woman making the food also looked up and stared at us with no smile or "hello be right with you". Stood there for 15 minutes and was not helped. No clue what the cashier was doing. Just kept disappearing to the back as we stood there. Really wanted to try the coffee and food but couldn't bc no one would help us. Finally just left and drove back home wasting more time and gas. I've tried going at Don Pan every now and again, whenever I see a deal at Restaurant.com, but I've been disappointed a couple times. The deal I've gotten is usually a $10 gift certificate. To use it, you have to purchase a minimum of $20. They will not allow you to use it on a whole cake, which is fine. Only on the individual slice cakes or pastries, coffee, etc. Also, they say it's only supposed to be for dine in but they've allowed me to take them out. The frustrating part is both times I've gone there to use the deal, once I get home, I realize that they've forgotten to give me a couple of my choices (because they'll put 'em in different baggies). To pick $20 worth of items, you'd have to pick about a total of 6 or 7 items (most items are btwn $2-$3 each). Some pastries are yummy like the chocolate croissant, some are just so so. If ever I decide to go back, I guess I will dine in to ensure I have everything. I can take home what I don't finish. read more

Not pleased at all. The cake was the worse. Very dry, and not flavorful. I bought a groupon for $5 for $10 worth. My cake was $23, and I paid $13. Not good for the quality of the cake. I asked him what the cakes were. This cake had strawberries and he said it was a black forest cake. I even made a joke about it. It was a cake with strawberries. You can get that any where and it would have tasted better. I wish I could have just returned it but I did not have time. $18 for the type of stale cake that it was was not worth it. I have not been here in a while. I use to get the guava and cheese pastries, I have gotten cachalpas which are like corn pockets with pork, and cake before. What a ripoff! I come from South Florida where the original Don Pan is located and prices are lore realistic, apparently. The prices here for what you are getting are desorbitan... not coming back. Starbucks prices are more reasonable. I have never paid 3.00 for a colada (expresso), unless I am having dinner at a fine dining. The ham and cheese tostada had literally one slice of each and when I complained their answer was "that's the portion". Terrible prices, terrible customer service. Never again. read more

Came by here while we waited for a table for brunch at First Watch. We got two shakes, a mango shake with milk and a guava shake with water. Both shakes were very well made with natural, ingredients and arent too sweet. You can get the shakes without any added sugar if you prefer. The shakes are very good and refreshing. A great way to cool off on a hot summer day. We also tried their guava pastry. They heated it up a little. The pastry is very flaky and the jam inside was very tasty! I'd like to try their other pastries some time and take a couple home for later. They're great to eat with a coffee for dessert! read more

First and last time I'll visit this pigsty. I gave it one star because YELP doesn't let me to leave them ZERO star, which is what this place deserves. First, they don't hear, they are deaf probably or is because they have the music as if they were a Pub. The owner or relative to the owner family jump his friends or people he knows on the line, taking his order first with special VIP attention even serving them with fresh bread from the oven. The two shitty sandwiches that I order came with old bread and if it wasn't enough yet then worse than old bread both came with hair from both employees that you can see in the pictures attached. My recommendation to all Yelp members and readers never go to this unpleasant place unless you want to lose your money and time. And if all this doesn't satisfy you yet, there coffee is the worst, even worst than McD or BK and that's a lot to say. Been going here a while now and enjoy the coffee and treats especially the tequeños. But lately the tequenos have been going quick and hard to get. Until yesterday when I got some but they were different. They were smaller and the pastry/cheese ratio was off. Still tasty but obviously different. All I'm saying is please go back to how you were making them. They were so much better. I'd rather get them once in a while the way I like them than more often and they not be up to par. I used to love the Don Pan in CW and the one in South Tampa rarely disappoints me but this one in Wesley Chapel is constantly a downer. The last 4 times I've come to this location they've been out of something I've tried to order. Usually they are out of the shredded beef or chicken and I try to look past it and just get an Arepa. Well today was the THIRD time in a row that they have been our of Arepa's. I was there early in the day and ordered one and paid, even managed to sit down to wait for the item but then he came to me and said "we are out" and suggested the other corn cake (it begins with a C) and I declined and asked for a refund. I've officially given up on this Don Pan location. Their pastry's are also old and stale tasting compared to the South Tampa location. I've officially given up on them. read more

This place is hidden amongst all of the other stores. I only went here because I went to Office Depot next door and thought I would stop in. It was about 2 pm when I went and there wasnt much to choose from. This is a predominately Cuban Bakery. I was hoping they might have some Mexican pan dulce but they had nothing. I ended up getting 2 of the fruit tarts to take home. At $2 each, I thought they were a good deal. My fruit tart was gross. I didnt even finish eating it. The fruit on top was old and the strawberry still had the green stem on; I dont want to eat that! The crust was good, toasted well with a nice crispness. What made me hate this fruit tart was the filling. Ugh ... so yucky. It supposed to be like a nice creamy vanilla almost pudding. (I've had fruit tarts before). But this was very dense and just had a weird taste; so unappetizing. I will definitely not be going here again. read more

I came here with a groupon. We had a Cuban, coffee, and assorted desserts. The Cuban was surprisingly decent, but I think that may be driven mostly by the good quality Cuban bread. They had quite a variety of opera slice-esque desserts that were super rich with subtle flavors. I would advise only getting one, as they fill you up pretty quickly. read more
