This message was perceived as intimidation rather than an attempt to resolve the issues. *Another update (post Florin's reply) - Even Florin's reply to this review shows his retaliatory nature. His comment confirms exactly why I felt compelled to warn others. It is clear his reply is not intended to clarify facts but to retaliate after I posted my experience. Steer clear of Florin. He is an excellent salesperson upfront, but once the job starts, everything changes. He repeatedly emphasized how "honest" and "transparent" he is, yet my experience was the complete opposite. He missed deadlines, cut corners, and insisted on doing plumbing work himself that was far below acceptable standards. The issues started on day one. Despite assuring me he would protect all flooring, he placed his tools and bathroom demolition debris directly on my newly finished hardwood floors. That should have been the first sign - especially considering he had already collected a significant down payment. As a professional contractor, he structures his billing so he is always far ahead financially, making it extremely difficult for customers to stop work and hire someone else once issues appear. Things worsened when he improperly removed a radiator, causing a major flooding event that resulted in water damage from the upstairs bathroom through the main floor and into the basement. The drying and repairs dragged on for over a month, repairs that were only necessary because of his mistakes. The project ended up being more than six weeks late from the timeline we originally agreed upon. Even after all the delays, he still could not get the plumbing functioning. The vanity, faucets, and shower were all left incomplete and unusable. Despite this, he demanded payment and went as far as threatening to place liens on my property for work that wasn't even finished or functional. Looking back, a red flag occurred at the very beginning: Florin strongly encouraged not pulling permits so he could "expedite" the project and get started immediately. I now understand why. His work repeatedly failed to meet even basic standards, and it's clear he would not have passed a village inspection. This was one of the most stressful contractor experiences I've ever had. We liked what we heard and the vision they gave. Jeff P was our project manager and Dove was our decorator. We love our kitchen and they were great to work with. In fact, we loved the kitchen so much that we hired them to gut our family room and redo that the following year. PERFECTION! Chris Hilgers was our Project Manager (great guy) and Dove was back with us on this project. So, now that those 2 rooms were new and amazing, the flooring in the living/dining room needed to be the same and the carpet on the stairs and upstairs landing needed to be replaced to match. So, a year later we started that project and we were fortunate to work with Tammy and Sean. Tammy got everything ordered and Sean (so personable) implemented everything to again-PERFECTION! The one thing that stands out with this place are the workers. Every single person we dealt with was great. AMG Builders gave us a competent quote, and its owner Greg Lesiak very clearly explained the project, the amount of work, and time it will take to do the work. The job started on time, and all the workers: electrician, plumber, drywall personnel were courteous, professional and very competent. But what exceeded our expectation the most was Greg Lesiak. He listened attentively to our bathroom remodeling vision, and made suggestions. Because of his experience, his contribution was invaluable and spot on. Needless to say we are extremely happy with the end product. However, it would be unfair if we didn't again mention Greg. It became clear early on that he took pride in his work, and was very attentive to customer service. He quickly responded to text messages and emails. His personality, communication, and interpersonal skills are second to none. Additionally, he willingly, and at no cost, made some other minor repairs in the house. Because of supply chain issues, some of our fixtures didn't arrive on time, and we had to install temporary fixtures. Once the permanent fixtures arrived weeks later, Greg, again with a smile on his face, came to the house and replaced the temporary ones. The tile and grout was cracking and coming loose. As we went to replace the tile, moisture and mold was found under the tile during demo; the entire sub floor is wet and the whole bathroom has to be pulled up to replace the sub floor. House is only 7 years old. Pretty house, very poor construction. Also when we asked to address some of the really obvious things that were wrong they were very rude to us.
